This is another reason I hope Da Bama succeeds. America only seems to wake up when they smell smoke.

At the hospital where I am employed, the finances are really struggling big-time. I work in the Emergency Room. And a lady walked up to the Nurses station and said in bad English, “check up for daughter. She a cold.” And she proceeded to hand over her Medicaid Public Aid card and a photo Identification card from a Central American country. She has no Driver’s License, and she barely spoke any English.

I hear ya ColtsFan and I agree, the above story you shared is exactly why many Phoenix/AZ emergency rooms had to close their doors, they just couldn't afford to keep them open anymore and those that aren't closed are overwhelmed!

The closing and/or overwhelming of emergency rooms creates two very critical issues:

1) Without enough emergency rooms seriously ill or injured people die.

2) emergency rooms being used for "doctors office visits" (as your story eluded to) for such no-emergencies as a cold overwhelms the emergency room to the point where those that have a legitimate emergency due to injury or illness are having their lives put at risk.

Again I know emergency room personnel are trained in triage and try their best to prioritize those with the most severe injury/illness; the fact is anytime you overwhelm a system the more likely it is hat mistakes will be made!

Not to mention of course that we tax payers are paying for these non-tax-paying people to use and abuse our system just adds insult to injury!

Just to continue their posturing they even passed the "tax the AIG bonus" thing today.

Yep, but here’s the kicker, I live in AZ and the gubment is going after Sheriff Joe for “civil rights violations” because Sheriff Joe had the audacity to enforce immigration laws here!

Yeah, it’s un-American…right! So with that Pelosi-logic is it not un-American that AZ now has one of the highest kidnapping rates in the world due to Mexican coyotes and their illegal immigration trafficing, not to mention the out of control drug cartel violence that is starting to spill over into the US, I guess that’s not un-American according to the wicked witch is it?
Liberty or Death on March 19, 2009 at 2:48 PM

Good point.

But not only does Arizona (Phoenix has the distinction of recording the second highest number of Kidnappings in the world) have a high kidnapping rate, it also has second-highest number rate of Social Security Number fraud and identity theft fraud.

The illegals in this country who are not doing unfortunate gang-related stuff are indeed often performing SSN theft, identity theft fraud, and other cases of document fraud against law-abiding USA citizens....

And both political parties welcome this.

At the hospital where I am employed, the finances are really struggling big-time. I work in the Emergency Room. My point in raising that story is this:

those who say the illegals will leave if we prosecute the employers are simply wrong.

The illegals in our country have access to the world's best healthcare delivery system. And they have it for free, thanks to USA taxpayers subsidizing and paying for it.

Does anyone think the illegals will want to give that up?

Im sure companies that hire illegals would not like amnesty. They would now have to pay them what you would pay Americans. Lets see no English no education vs English w/high school ed at the same pay. Which do you pick? If there is amnesty expect allot of unemployed new citizens.

Increased labor costs, like tax increases, must be either passed along to the consumer in the form of higher prices or absorbed by the company, resulting in competitive disadvantage (under the reasonable assumption that use of illegal labor is widespread in the meatpacking industry).

A huge problem is selective enforcement. Just how unconnected was Swift & Co. ownership? To which campaigns did they fail to contribute? What out and out bribes did they fail to pay? The problem is gross lack of ethics within our political establishment, independent of party affiliation. Many Republicans are corrupt too, though Democrats seem more brazen about it.

Throw the bums out. We need a clean slate.

I agree with Rush, if they start coddling the illegal immigrants in this environment…you’re gonna see global warming alright, in the form of riot fires….

If they "start" coddling them? Honey, they've never stopped. The recently passed S-Chip bill gives illegal aliens expanded medical care at taxpayer expense (there was a provision requiring recipients to show they are U.S. citizens or legal residents in the bill -- it was stripped out before the bill was finalized); the recently passed "stimulus" bill will create an estimated 300,000 taxpayer-funded jobs that will go to illegal aliens (again, there was a provision to require "stimulus"-fund recipients/employers to use E-Verify to ensure that only U.S. citizens or legal residents were being hired, but once again, Reid and Pelosi made sure the provision was stripped from the final bill).

At a time when millions of Americans can't find jobs, our federal government is still making sure there are plenty of inducements being created (with our tax dollars) to keep illegal aliens coming here.

If they “start” coddling them? Honey, they’ve never stopped. The recently passed S-Chip bill gives illegal aliens expanded medical care at taxpayer expense (there was a provision requiring recipients to show they are U.S. citizens or legal residents in the bill — it was stripped out before the bill was finalized); the recently passed “stimulus” bill will create an estimated 300,000 taxpayer-funded jobs that will go to illegal aliens (again, there was a provision to require “stimulus”-fund recipients/employers to use E-Verify to ensure that only U.S. citizens or legal residents were being hired, but once again, Reid and Pelosi made sure the provision was stripped from the final bill).

At a time when millions of Americans can’t find jobs, our federal government is still making sure there are plenty of inducements being created (with our tax dollars) to keep illegal aliens coming here.

I saw it as well...and it's the channel where Robert Suchandsuch or Ben Mankewitz host the movie...and if I recall correctly, Alec Baldin (GAK!) was co-hosting with Robert for A Night At The Opera.

Pelosi is freak. This woman should be removed from office.
I cant believe the people of this country would want that creature making decisions for our nation.

We have to support our Federal Agents, like our Troops, because our government in charge right now is fighting against them!

Hey Hornet, I didn't know you had a border guard in the family! Thanks to you and yours for trying to do the right thing.

This thanks is coming from an outraged Mom, who found out 2 days ago that my son, who's a pilot for a major carrier, is about to be stripped of his ability to carry his weapon on board to keep you safe, and it's looking like he's going to be treated like a common criminal with this crazy administration.

What's next, taking the weapons away from our Border Agents?

Quick question: who does Dodd represent, the Treasury Dept., Nancy Pelosi, Barak Obama, or...Americans and the citizens of Connecticut? It seems almost all Democrats have forgotten all about that little detail!

3. Obama resigns and takes all his democrats with him and moves to Haiti…..I want this one!

He doesn't necessarily have to go to Haiti... though it would probably be crueler to send them to Rhode Island or Michigan.

Most any Arizonan would probably tell you that if there's a hold on ICE raids, it's likely the authorization came from the Secretary of Homeland Defense herself. She did a miserable job of defending the border as governor, and is as pro-amnesty as they come.
