Cornyn: How about filling out an org chart instead?
posted at 5:20 pm on March 19, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
The chair of the NRSC took his shot at President Obama during a floor speech ripping the administration for their handling of the AIG bailout. Look for it at about the five-minute mark if you’re impatient, but Sen. John Cornyn’s whole speech is worth watching:
CNN offers the quote:
Texas Sen. John Cornyn took a much harsher tone Thursday in a floor speech, saying that Obama might want to spend less time making basketball predictions and more time filling the many job openings still at the Treasury Department. Having more hands on deck, he said, might have led to better oversight of the AIG situation.
“I appreciate that President Obama has completed his ‘March Madness’ Tournament Bracket,” Cornyn said. “Yet the organizational chart of his administration still has far too many open slots.”
The White House still only lists Tim Geithner among its appointments for the Treasury, meaning that it still has not nominated anyone for the seventeen other Senate-confirmation senior appointments. We’re coming up on two months. How much longer will it take?

Never in his life has Obama constructed an organization chart. When the teleprompter wants him to build one it will portray the dots for him to connect.

Org charts are dull! In accordance with Obama’s past practice of spending all his time ignoring the office that he is currently in and running for higher office, it is time for O to start his campaign to become Dictator Of The World.

Communists do not need a treasury department! Although the big 0 could claim to be creating jobs by staffing Treasury from Accountemps or some other temp agency. There is no need for a permanent staff after he succeeds in stealing all the money from the people I depend on for a job. The only rich folk left will be athletes, celebutards, and the friends of the big 0.

A little-known fact of the Constitution is that two of the largest states — Virginia and New York — made the right to withdraw from the union explicit in their acceptance of the Constitution. And in such an agreement between parties as is represented by the Constitution, a right claimed by one is allowed to all.

Texas, as part of the confederacy, had to be readmitted to the union. Here is the reference material. No longer a mention of a right to voluntarily secede.

Unfortunately … Vashta is right.
Texas was required to amend their State Constitution as a requirement to reenter the Union after the Civil War.
Article I of the Bill of Rights, subjugates that right to national authority.

Remember, according to the Left, only cowboys and rednecks join the military. So when states start falling off, they’ll take the military with them.
Why do you think Obama has been calling for a civilian defense force just as strong as the military?

I’ll just add while we are on this subject that for all those who profess that the South did not have the right to seceded, the very fact that the federal government required Confederate States to add specific language to their State Constitution in order to rejoin the Union serves as evidence that they DID HAVE THAT RIGHT before the Civil War.

Silly Cornyn, Teleprompter Jesus has “Nobody messes with Joe” Biden and “what’s income tax” Timmy. And the functional idiot Gibbs.
He doesn’t need to find anyone else. Those four can totes take care of the Presidency and all the responsibility. Plus when Teleprompter Jesus leaves for yet another campaign stop for an election that happened four months ago, “nobody messes with Joe” Biden can totes be the President.

Bill didn’t sing about that in Schoolhouse Rock.

Fill in an organizational chart…LOL…good one, Sir!
Dr. ZhivBlago on March 19, 2009 at 10:44 PM
Texas Constitution Article 1 Section 2
All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit. The faith of the people of Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a republican form of government, and, subject to this limitation only, they have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.
Sounds like we have the right to secede. Wonder what would happen? Would people from eastern states flock here to save their money from being taxed away? Would Obama unleash his ACORN thugs to start violence, then send in federal troops to “keep order”? Would the secession leaders be whisked away to a Federal Detention Center somewhere in Arizona? Could Texas join OPEC? Would Barney Franks’ head explode? Imagine the Time magazine covers and the endless MSM speculation. Imagine troops firing on Americans to keep them in line. Texas was an independent country before it became a state. How many other states can say that? Much as I might like to see the Texas flag be my country’s flag, I suspect that the Law of Unintended Consequences would be in full force. Nobody really knows what would happen and that is the scariest thing of all.
