Video: Glenn Beck and Michelle talk AIG, Congress, and the Illuminati

posted at 7:10 pm on March 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

No no, just kidding about the Illuminati, although I do worry whenever she’s on that he’s going to spring something like that on her and she’ll have to scramble for an answer. Case in point: I wrote a snarky headline last night that Russia’s proposal for a one-world currency would be coming soon to a GB monologue near you … only to learn in the comments that he’d already mentioned the story on yesterday’s show. Nuance.

If you’re hungry for more, you’ll find video here of him and Dr. Drew Pinsky worrying about a “French Revolution” vibe coarsing through America. Exit question: Beck’s point is well taken. It’s irresponsible to “whip up” an angry, frightened public, isn’t it?

did no one pay attention today. The Fed just did TARP 2. $1.2 Trillion. with a wave of the wand. No votes no screaming. nothing. The FEd just bailed out Fannie and Fredie and all consumer debt.

Come’ on people stop falling for the smoke and mirrors and the fake anger. This was all a set up so the FEd could do what it did. $1.2 Trillion DO you all get it? More than the stimulus directed directly at the failed business of mortage backed securities and consumer debt, credit cards, auto loans etc. Thus not only did the FED bail out Freddie and Fannie today they also bailed out GMAC, Ford credit, Chrylser, Sallie Mae, Americian Express, and all banks that use VISA and MASTERCARD!!!!!

But you know what keep talking about $165million. Ignore the $1.2 Trillion that just went out the backdoor. The FEd is going to print $1.2 Trillion anyone understand what that does to inflation and the vaule of EVERY FREAKING DOLLAR YOU OWN?

Glenn Beck blew right by Hannity and is hot on O’Reilly’s tail. The dude has been right much of the time for a few years now. I called bullshit on some of his rants a year ago or so, only to eat those words when his rants came true. Glenn bust the chops of both parties. Liberals get much more of his time than Republicans, but that’s for obvious reasons.

Wow, go for it Glen!!! Your talking to the American people like a Dutch Uncle and that’s what we all need.

Some overly sensitive people are worried that you are “whipping up” an angry, frightened public. Well we better be angry and there is good reason to be frightened of this out of control government that seems Hellbent on destroying not only our economy but the very founding principles of this nation. Wake up America!!

Maxx on March 18, 2009 at 7:51 PM

I’ve been listening to Glenn’s radio show for the last two years and found him hard to take at times because he scared the absolute crap out of me! I wish Glenn was wrong about some of this stuff, but he’s proven right over and over…gulp. I love Glenn and I know he loves this country as much as I do. I wish we had more like him.

klickink.wordpress.com on March 18, 2009 at 7:54 PM

The really weird thing is, Glenn starts talking about stuff that you think is WAY out there and then a year later, a few months, weeks, or even days later it happens. Does he have like some time machine or something? God help us all if he ever brings up Illuminati, Aliens, or anything Art Bellian.

Tuari on March 18, 2009 at 7:54 PM

Or a bunch of HA readers anyway. If Fox could find a chimpanzee that brought in higher numbers today, Beck would be doing crying his show from an AA meeting tomorrow. If O’reily is a Ted Baxter, I’d have to put Beck in the Jimmy Olson catagory.

I like Allah – but for the life of me – I don’t understand why he thinks GB is off his rocker.

I’m thinking that Allah lives in a “Multi-Political” location of the country – like Washington DC … and that, to folks like him – all this is just normal.

But here in the deep South in the Red States – GB is accurately stating our mental disposition at the current moment. It’s very “WTF is going on and how are we going to stop it?!”

HondaV65 on March 18, 2009 at 8:02 PM

In all fairness I do not believe Beck has ever talked about the illuminati. The most “conspiratorial” thing he has mentioned is talk of rumors of a new currency. Given the financial crisis and our fiat currency anything is a possibility.

Poptech on March 18, 2009 at 8:03 PM

There’s a difference between “whipping up” the masses and a slow, methodical “movement” to reassert the constitution, in tatters since Wilson and House.

It takes a man to know a man and seejanemom, I don’t think that Allapundit is lacking in the courage or manly department. He does know the right chains to pull to bring out the comments (and often the worst in us). The last couple of days have been bad on the violence front with everyone trying to one-up each other on how to kill or toherwise punish all the lying dastards that caused our current predicament. Even I became unhinged (which is not hard for me to do.) Do you know that the KOS kids or Huff can excerpt the comments of the last couple of days and make the conservatives look like blood thirsty killers?

I, for one, apologize to all. I think we should keep up the comments, but make them cogent open discussion, or we risk being marginalized.

yes to an extent The FED has congressional limits on how much they can expand their balance sheet. The question I want to kow is who voted fro them to be able to lend up to $5 Trillion and why was this not reported by the MSM?.

Yep, that same outrage that wants to see Barney Frank led out in handcuffs down the Capitol steps, screaming: “But I’m a CONGWESSMAN!!”

Sort of OT. Yesterday Rush played a sound bite recorded in the House while Barney was Speaker for the Day (heh). I heard it while driving and I had to pull over from laughing so hard. Let’s just say that he makes the actual Speaker seem sane. And smart.

Okay, now I’m not laughing.

baldilocks on March 18, 2009 at 9:11 PM

goat on March 18, 2009 at 8:31 PM

this might help;

But the Treasury has congressional limits on how much debt it may issue. In search of a permanent way round the problem, the Fed has asked Congress to let it pay interest on bank reserves. It could then expand its balance-sheet indefinitely without driving the fed funds rate to zero; a bank will not lend out excess reserves at 0.25% if it can earn 1.75% at the Fed. The new bill would raise the debt ceiling and permit the Fed to pay interest on reserves immediately.

But even unlimited Fed liquidity may not fix the money markets. The Fed’s torrent of cash pushed the fed funds rate down to 1% this week, from a high of 6% in the wake of Lehman’s failure. But few borrowers benefited: some creditworthy firms paid 5% on overnight commercial paper this week and European banks paid 11% for overnight dollar funds from the ECB on September 30th. This partly reflects a temporary quarter-end scramble for funds. Burned on Lehman debt, many money-market mutual funds have also stopped buying commercial paper. Banks have picked up some of the slack, but many are reluctant to lend because their capital bases are already suffering from loan losses, and they are uneasy about the ability of many customers to roll over the paper. More lending by the Fed cannot create capital or trust; it is counting on the $700 billion bail-out plan for that.

If the plan fails to pass, the Fed could conceivably create one itself for mortgage assets, argues Michael Feroli, economist at JPMorgan Chase. The template is its September 19th announcement that it would finance banks’ purchases of asset-backed commercial paper from money-market funds. The Fed, not the banks, bears the risk of any default on the paper. The risk here would be political: the Fed would be taking upon itself to intervene in the markets. But perhaps that is just what Congress would prefer: all the benefits of a rescue plan without the voters’ retribution.

Glenn Beck is indeed his own worst enemy.
Sad because Beck shines the light on radioactive and critically important issues that the mainstream media is too gutless to report on. The disintegration of Mexico being one of them. Unfortunately Beck’s so hysterical and manic when discussing those issues that he comes off as a total flake.

No i know the Fed action was reported what i want to know is who voted in congress to allow the FEd to do this.

As far as unlocking things. It is the same thing as the fed gov throwing money at the problem that was created by too much spending. Unless the Fed is going to buy up the entire QUADTRILLION of bad debt that is floating around out there it will not help the proble. What the federal gov and the FEd are hoping is that the prices of homes, cars etc go up again. this will give vaule to the bad debt and then once the paper has some vaule again the banks will start to lend again because they will not be afriad of getting stuck with bad debt.

IMO they are wrong because they are misdiagnosing the problem. The Problem IMO is that prices are too high and that wages have not kept up. It is a demand side problem. Granted most Americians have kept up but prices have gotten too much for too many and the balance has tipped. We will never have robust economic recovery until prices come down or wages go up. The availablitiy of cheap credit has hidden the problem for years possibly for a decade or two. But now the credit is drying up and people can no longer afford the lifestyle at their wages so they have to cut back.

So wages have to come up or prices have to come down. what the fed and fed gov are trying to do is bring prices UP. It will not work and if it does it will not last unless wages rise to meet them. Either way you cut it corp profits have to fall. Either by paying more in wages or selling their goods and services for less. Thus the sell off in the stock market to reflect the coming new realiity.

I blame Havard, Yale and other top business schools that taught our CEO’s wrong. That taught them to concentrate on the profit margin, they taught them to decrease supply to increase price.

An example of what I am thinking is WALMART. Which lowers prices to stimulate demand. The lower their prices go the more demand they have.

The FED and Fed gov are trying to keep the Tiffny model instead. Where the company makes a killing on th eprofit margin.

Hey Allah –

Using Illuminati in your headline is nothing but smear.

Well done. Axelrod would be proud.

Glenn Beck is a fruitcake that likes to cry on air. So far this is the conservative leadership….Jobba The Hut (Rush)

Joe the Plumber (not a plumber) Sarah “I can see Russia from Alaska” Palin, Beck and a 14 year old freak at CPAC. I’m sure the Democrats are heading for the bunkers to save themselves from that collection of misfits.

Athensboy

And you have the self-anointed one circling the drain, Barney Frank (who should be in jail), Chris Dodd (ditto), Al Franken (gone), CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, Time, Newsweek etc… ALL losing ratings daily. Democrat trick #1 deflect attention to others when you are clearly at fault.

As for Beck, he is simply regurgitating what Mark Levin says the night before, check him out.

Disclaimer of my earlier post: Any resemblance between the Good-year Blimp and Rush Limbaugh is purely co-incidental.

Any link between Barney Frank and a disgusting, bribe addicted, porn-house running, lying, cheating, pervert is totally true.

Glenn Beck is right on, in an exaggerated fashion. But I’m starting to believe a Revolution is a viable response. My life is worth the betterment of my beloved America.
Even if President Obama turns out to be a 1-termer I don’t see a future that will reestablish America as it’s founder’s envisioned. Pop-culture now rules and effects all. Genius will no longer be recognized unless it’s packaged in a cool-demeanor and a perfect smile.
In 220 years we’ve gone from giving our lives to overthrow an oppressive monarch to voluntarily establishing a ruling class. As great republics have fallen before us so shall we.

Sorax on March 18, 2009 at 10:56 PM

You are exactly right. It wasn’t going to pass in Congress so just do it anyway. Doesn’t matter about the 15 in the Senate under Bayh. No need to use the nuclear option. Obama is never going to be derailed.

But, will the captain go down with the ship?

Johan Klaus on March 18, 2009 at 10:59 PM

Glenn Beck blew right by Hannity and is hot on O’Reilly’s tail. The dude has been right much of the time for a few years now. I called bullshit on some of his rants a year ago or so, only to eat those words when his rants came true. Glenn bust the chops of both parties. Liberals get much more of his time than Republicans, but that’s for obvious reasons.

Keemo on March 18, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Part of this is because some of us got tired of the Republican shills like Hannity and Limbaugh. Beck’s independent/Libertarian streak won me over to some degree though I myself would consider a far more vocal conspiracy theorist than him.

Beck is the only one of the big talkers that ever brings up the truth about the Federal Reserve. I wish everyone would study up on it so we could coalesce around getting rid of that usury beast. If we can break away from them we can prosper again. The head of the snake is not the Democratic party, it is the Federal Reserve. They own you and your childrens future. Just look at the news today, look at their bold new “program” that is built around printing more money and making us even more indebted to them. I would think conservatives could understand this and rally around it.

Get rid of the left/right paradigm, the future of our nation is at stake. Kill the head of the snake first!

A co-worker of mine from time to time fills me in on the Illuminati thing…pretty interesting stuff actually.

Though not beyond the realm of possibility I generally believe that actually it’s the Communists who are the threat. It’s hard to argue against humanitarian principles, but of course, pretending to uphold those humanitarian principles are used to squelch dissent, instill guilt in the opposition, and ultimately insure that a self-described elite intelligentsia ascends to absolute power.

A benign (or not) dictatorship if you will.

The vast majority of gerbils will be quite happy with a tube to suck water from, wood shavings and a little plastic wheel to run around in.

Freedom and responsibility are inconvenient, and besides, it’s all just politics and one should enjoy life. Esoteric arguments are boring and should be reserved for politicians and eggheads. Leave us alone so we can watch American Idol in peace.

dthorny on March 18, 2009 at 11:30 PM

I’ve been doing some research in NC it only costs about $500 to get on the ballot. If the mode stays the way it is I might spend the money just so my Congressman has someone anyone to run against. The gerrymandering in this state is unreal but then it is like that over most of the country. We need to increase the size of the house and gove people more power over each congressperson. This 435 level for 100 years is not working. We should pass the 1st amendment and allow the house to grow again.

and to shift blame to AIG for a deal the Democrats have known about all along made possible.
