Pelosi: Enforcing American immigration law is un-American

posted at 7:45 pm on March 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

Spectacular Hispandering (as Kaus calls it) from Madam Speaker, coinciding with The One’s decision to toss yet another hot-button issue that he doesn’t have to deal with right now onto his already crowded plate. Describing positions she disagrees with as un-American or unpatriotic is an endearing little habit of Pelosi’s and comes this time with a twist: Not only are immigration raids unpatriotic, apparently, but illegal aliens are among the greatest patriots of all.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is “un-American.”…

“You are special people. You’re here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country’s future. That makes you very, very patriotic.”

“I was embarrassed by what she said,” said Rick Oltman, with Californians for Population Stabilization, an anti-illegal immigrant group. “Exhorting illegal aliens for taking responsibility for our country’s future…. In fact, sitting there in the audience…. I really resented that comment.”

This also coincides with a new poll from Rasmussen showing 68% support for punishing businesses that hire illegals, up slightly from a few years ago despite the headwinds from Hopenchange. No matter. Like The One says, “I won.” And like the boss says, “The question is not whether, but when.”

Hey, if we remove all the illegals…who will pick hers and Feinstein’s grapes at their vineyards…you know the one that is non-union…

San Francisco Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and her husband Paul own two vineyard parcels totaling 24.62 acres, of which approximately 9 acres are grapes.

According to Pelosi it’s “unAmerican to enforce laws where citizens work or live”. Nevermind that these illegal immigrants are NOT citizens. But legal Permanant Residents (Green Card holders), however, have to let the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services know if we’re going to be out of the country for more than one year and less than 2 years. I am a legal Permanant Resident and have been out of the country for the last 10 months. Upon calling the US Embassy here in Australia last week, I was told that I had to go back within a year if I didn’t want to lose my Green Card (if not it would be taken that I have abandoned my Permanant Residency status). I have to file a certain form, pay US$305 and get my biometrics done. This when they already have my biometrics. The lady from the embassy advised me to do all this when I go back to the States. I thanked her and told her that I would when I’m there next week. I also told her that it blows my mind that the govt. wants to keep track of legal immigrants like me who are out of the country but can’t keep track of 12 million illegal immigrants in the country.

This is a good example of why I believe states rights (and responsibilities) will become more and more important, in the years ahead. For California to spend absurd amounts of money on entitlements, including economic support for illegal aliens and then demand that the other states,in the form of the federal government, bail them out, is insane.

Gov. Matt Blunt, of Missouri, did a terrific job of managing the finances of the state of Missouri, although he was crucified by liberals for doing so. Each state should live or die by its ability to manage its own finances.

Pelosi, Boxer, Waters, what is it with the people here in the PRCa?

N4646W on March 18, 2009 at 9:19 PM

You know, I just don’t get it. Really. Back in the late 1980s, when Pelosi first ran for the Congressional seat, she was rather a normal, liberal Democrat. She had been a major fundraiser for the local San Francisco Democratic organization for years. Her husband, Paul, was a well known businessman in SF, and was considered normal as well. For several years, she served as the rep of the people of (most) of San Francisco. But after Bush was elected, she seemed to have lost it. She listed ever more left. It may have had something to do with the fact that the local government of San Francisco became much more radically left in the years of the Bush Administration. That’s certainly a fact, as anyone who has lived or worked here as I do can testify. All in all, Pelosi has morphed from a local Dem into a Socialist harpie who simply cannot tolerate any dissent.

This is what they have in store for all of us: no dissent, no discussion, and no say whatsoever.

It’s up to all of us to make sure this never happens. At least not without a fight.

I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. One of the main reasons why the Republicans can’t win this issue outright is because a significant percentage os them is anti-immigrant, not simply anti-illegal immigrants.

Otherwise what is so difficult about showing faces of legal immigrants, like Chinese, for instance, who have to wait for 10-15 years at a minimum to get their green cards, and saying: yes, we should be more welcoming. Let’s process legal immigrants more efficiently, let’s drastically increase the number of working visas etc.

As usual, the Democrats own this issue and there’s no coherent and positive counter-proposals from the Republicans.

Funny how this lib-tard is complaining about immigration law, and she is the top law maker in the House Of Representatives, if anyone in this Nation can change the law, it’s her. Can you say pandering?

Should she change immigration law? HELL YES!!! It is way too lenient, it needs tightening, use Mexico’s as a guide.

Mark my words…IF these shovel ready stimulus jobs actually happen, the flood north will be on again, they will do the jobs they don’t want Americans to have.

Obviously the following needs a little updating to give Plantation Queen Pelosi a place of honor.

The Mexican Consulate has brought a Complaint before the UN World Court (the “Permanent Court of International Justice”), alleging violation of the civil rights of its citizen rapists by the US in discriminating against Mr. Juarez merely because he is a Mexican citizen.

Felipe Calderon called on “human rights activists everywhere to condemn this violation of Mr. Juarez’s civil rights. Child rape is one of the basic civil rights guaranteed by the UN Civil rights commission” he said, and “the United States, our future colony, refuses to recognize that child rape is an important part of our superior Mexican culture”.

John Plantation McCain Nancy Plantation Pelosi said “Mr. Juarez is missing work at the factory farm of one of my big campaign contributors one of my grape vineyards, so I have asked President Bush Obama to pardon him so he can get back to work where he belongs. he will be whipped for missing work while he was fooling around with that girl.” I have also asked the federal prosecutor who jailed the Border Agents to prosecute the 10 year old girl as an attractive nuisance, because she served as a distraction for Mr Juarez from his real purpose here – working for my bribers contributors

The Duke University Group of 88 has demanded that Mike Nifong prosecute the 10 year old girl for raping Mr. Juarez. Said Ms. Smith-Jones-Mbeke-Jimenez, Chairperson of the Duke University of Antiwestern Civilization Propaganda,”even if she didn’t rape him, she should be prosecuted because the Mexican savage culture is admirable and superior to anything in the evil US. And she added, “because we say so, since we Duke Professors are smarter than anyone we know.”

President Bush Obama said “Mr. Juarez is doing the kind of raping that Americans won’t do. We have many 10 year old girls in the US, but not enough skilled US rapists. My proposed legislation will grant Mr. Juarez full citizenship upon payment of a fine of $50.00, payable to the Republican Democrat National Congressional Committee, which will soon desperately need the money. If Mr.Jjuarez doesn’t have enough money to pay the fine, he should go rob someone”.

Ted Kennedy said “If she had taken the ride in my car that I offered her, she would not have been home to be raped by this futire Democrat voter. We offer him sanctuary in Massatwochits. Hic”

Al Gore blamed the rape on global warming. “This girl was obviously too hot” said Gore. Standing in front of a map of southeast Asia, Gore said “the girl’s family didn’t buy carbon rights I bought from a Chinese farmer who promised not to burn a million tons of coal this year, so there was a cyclone, which caused this rape.”

RadioFree, I think you need to go backwards about 30 years. Who do you think used to mow the the loans, do the agriculuture jobs, work the janitorial jobs, work fastfood etc etc?

Those that couldnt get anything better, were undereducated, young, families of the farm in question, people sidelining for extra cash etc etc.

It doesnt represent a huge change in unemployment but it does make a change in the level of those employed that could be, but do not until they must.

The labor situation in California is so bad that any job making less than 12 bucks an hour sees you as completely expendable no matter how well you perform because illegals will do it for cheaper with no payroll taxes. The downturn in employer accountability and employee retention cant be measured in any meaningful way.

Its not that they take the jobs its that they make them less secure, give employers more opportunities to take advantage of employees, and it undermines young people entering into the marketplace of job employment.

Go do a study of the….Opportunity Costs of illegal employment. You dont seem to have anything but the dem talking points.

If you don’t want that Citenship that is fine but illegals are ignored for other poltical reasons and you can’t even compare legal immigration process to an illegal process. By definition they should be quite different. Tracking Illegals is an oxymron. Not to be hard on you but do yourself a favor and don’t put yourself in the illegals category. The border is simply the country’s “skin”.

When it is perforated, and when it allows in an uncontrolled influx of influences, the body tends to suffer, and is injured, and may be fatally compromised if this influx is not halted, stabilized and the “skin”, our border, re-sealed.

Our power-pimping, anti-patriotic politicians are killing the country with a death of a thousand cuts …called “immigration reform” and “compassion for the ‘undocumented’” … AKA illegal aliens.

I think it is now time to officially say that Nancy Pelosi is unquestionably, undeniably, absolutely the WORST Speaker of the House this country has ever had in its entire history.

To say that this woman is a disgrace takes the word “disgrace” to an entirely new level. She is beyond incompetent, is totally lacking of anything even coming close to intelligence, and seems determined to undermine virtually everything that has made this country great.

In addition to this, she has been an abominable representative in Congress for as long as she has been there. She is now the living breathing epitome of the expression that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The best thing that the people of this country can do is in 2010 work to turn the power of Congress back over to the Republicans, and throw this horrendously awful woman out of the Speaker’s chair, before she is allowed to do anymore damage than she already has!

Refusing to enforce US Immigration Law has made a crapper of California, formerly considered the Golden State of living desirability.

Given that California is letting go thousands of teachers and essential civil servants cutting fire and police departments, and housing more criminals than imaginable because of the compound illegal immigrant criminal population, PELOSI CAN STFU!

Without those teachers, what’s going on in the schools that forced the rest of the nation to accept the enrollment of illegal populations never to be identified or prosecuted.

All of the ubertard “we can afford to be generous in our lack of respect for rule of law” is coming home to roost.

Even if tolerated with a blind eye to illegal residence in the USA, illegal immigrants can do their own homeschooling and get PBS funded televised and hands-on VOLUNTEER EDUCATION, NOT tax funded that inevitably coerces irrational burdens on our government and the demise of national security via economic burdens.

There’s always the straw that breaks the camel’s back, and for America it has evolved from turning the blind eye to militant defiance against rule of law, tolerating illegal immigration.

Pelosi, go home!

I wonder if queen Nancy has commented on this video publically yet?
I’d love to hear her take on this.

Enforcing the disregard for Rule of Law, specifically US Immigration Law, is UN-AMERICAN.

Illegal immigrants are un-American.

Pelosi is un-American in her unconstitutional tactics and lack of proper protocol as Speaker of the House.

Pelosi’s Omnibus and legislative proposals are un-American in content, delivery and enforcement.

maverick muse on March 19, 2009 at 8:35 AM

I never like hearing Pelosi who is never correct on anything and whose every word inflicts damage on American stability.

There’s no enjoyment in receiving a kick in the mouth.

I’d like Pelosi to be gagged with the same treatment she gives her opponents in the legislative process. She denies American citizens representation while stealing our freedoms and financial security!

Pelosi belongs in prison.

maverick muse on March 19, 2009 at 8:39 AM

To say that this woman is a disgrace takes the word “disgrace” to an entirely new level.

to hell in a hand basket

Can a person suffer a fatal overdose of botox? Just asking..

adamsmith on March 19, 2009 at 9:10 AM

she must be ramping up for re-election and getting her illegal voters ready. She is a criminal and should not be talking about breaking laws.

workingforpigs on March 19, 2009 at 9:10 AM

IMPEACH HER FOR TREASON!!!!

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court

to call foreign invaders on our soil “patriots,” then to call the laws that would get rid of them “un-american”…sounds like aiding and comforting to me

ok its a stretch…but i really dont like her..

alexraye on March 19, 2009 at 9:51 AM

Apparently this hags clueless as to just how much sanctuary cities like San Francisco and the open borders policies of her state have done to bankrupt them.

TrickyDick on March 19, 2009 at 10:03 AM

Amen, just ask Arnold if he has any extra money to continue to fund the illegal “free healthcare” system.

workingforpigs on March 19, 2009 at 10:26 AM

Hypothetical question: If “the big one” hits and part of California drops into the sea, say the greater San Francisco area, and Nancy is in Washington but no longer has a physical district to represent, is she still the speaker?

mchristian on March 19, 2009 at 10:50 AM

You can send this to friends. We can boycott Star Kist Tuna. I know I am. This is why Pelosi supports illegal’s. So they can slave their workers and think nothing of it.

Star Kist Tuna and Nancy Pelosi
No more Star Kist Tuna for me ….
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home district includes San
Francisco
> > Star-Kist Tuna’s headquarters are in San Francisco ,
Pelosi’s home district.

Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to
Pelosi.
Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of
the Samoan work force.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy ’s husband, owns $17 million dollars of
Star-Kist stock.
In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to
$7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del
Monte would not have to pay the higher wage.
This would make Del Monte products less expensive than that of its
competitors.

Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an
earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an “economic
development credit in American Samoa ”
Pelosi has called the Bush Administration “CORRUPT” and
many other things !!!

? How do you spell “HYPOCRISY” ? SHE’S SHAMELESS…

sheebe on March 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM

She keeps getting elected.

tx2654 on March 19, 2009 at 11:49 AM

She keeps getting elected.

tx2654 on March 19, 2009 at 11:49 AM

I know, but I do believe that she could be beat this time around. I been hearing on the streets here on The Central Coast how mad people are at her. Including her own party, and a bunch of Liberal’s. You are right, she does get elected every time. But she has let down a lot of her People. The Gays in San Fran Nan are not happy with her. I found a Lib blog a few days back. They are not happy with Miss Pelosi.

sheebe on March 19, 2009 at 12:06 PM

Let’s invade Mexico, wipe out the cartels, and make them our 51st State. Maybe that would stop the pissing and moaning from the left…

Wyznowski on March 19, 2009 at 12:52 PM

if her own leftists are angry with her, it’s because she isn’t going further left fast enough.

just think what we’d get if someone on their side beat her….hmmm…no thanks.

OwlorNothing on March 19, 2009 at 12:55 PM

What’s wrong with this broad?
It’s illegal to go and detain people who are breaking the law?

CynicalOptimist on March 19, 2009 at 1:19 PM

Where was Nancy Pelosi when Elian Gonzalez was snatched and sent to Cuba?

Angry Dumbo on March 19, 2009 at 1:40 PM

ALL of CONGRESS IS NOW

UN-AMERICAN

We need to clean out all of the cockroaches infesting our hallowed halls..

Pelozi is a frigging idiot..

jcila on March 19, 2009 at 3:06 PM

Not sure if anyone has suggested this but here goes: Why not take all the illegals when arrested and give them bus tickets to San Fran or Berkley. Have a packet made with instructions on all the organizations there that support them. Also include the college organizations with addresses and contact info. All it would cost the states is bus fare.

Claimsratt on March 19, 2009 at 4:06 PM

Why can’t there be a special Island for these nuts…..
