A quick survey on Twitter reveals that I’m apparently the only righty in America to have a shred of sympathy for Geithner. Granted, he’s a tax cheat; granted, he wouldn’t have his job if [ ... ] Even so, he’s got an extraordinarily difficult job and people screaming from all directions for immediate results. No sympathy for someone facing that challenge? Teeny tiny bit? Come on — make Ron Rosenbaum happy!

Geithner has been at the top of the Fed system for years. THis is not a matter of “immediate results”. If he could show that he had any idea what he was doing (results or not) then people would be okay. But Geithner doesn’t know what he’s doing and he allowed himself to be put into a position that calls for someone who knows what he’s doing. Geithner is a total failure.

And, if that’s not good enough for you, then you should have nothing but disdain for Geithner for his shilling for that moronic budget of The Precedent.

Sorry Allah. There’s no reason to feel sympathy for Geithner, or to support him staying at Treasury. He’s an azz and he’s happy to parade his incompetence for everyone to see.

Geithner needs to resign, but even moreso, the moron who nominated him (and claimed that he was the only man able to do the job) ought to be forced to resign (and then tried for treason, if there were any real justice in this world).

He knew the state of the economy, yet he talked his way into this job. He claimed to know how to fix it. He ridiculed his opponents. He wanted the job before he was ready. He feely accepts the worship of people around the world, as though he deserves it.
