Eye ever on the prize...

Think.. National Security Force (watch future budgets for funding)

Weaken military.. pay less for re-upment, charge soldiers for medical care..change oath to fealty to president and not to Constitution?... fewer enlistments, less military funding all around...

Think.. Acorn which has proven it's value when Detroit voted 100%..

Take back the vote in 2012? Republicans need a similar organization whose goal is to be at every polling place to ensure no ballot boxes are stuffed or ballots discarded or
dead people are voting. Without that, 2012 is Acorn's dream and our nightmare.

Take note from his friend Chavez.. President for life?

Be sure there are plans afoot.. do not think this little military excursion into unjust medical charges are anywhere near the goal they have in mind.

Just another BARACKY HORROR SHOW episode. Smacks of Michelle Obama, isn't that her field of expertise? Maybe they both drank a little of their own kool-aide?

He starts these little brush fires and then gets on the road.... CA stumping today and Camp David for the weekend (important to have his girls get Spring Break. (ya' know)

How much time does he have left?

Once a Moby is called for what he or she is, they normally don’t come back. I was surprized how quickly Ed put the ban-hammer on the last one.

It keeps me on the straight and narrow. ;-)

Has anyone seen him redact his idea?

Touche. I suppose they've just got to stumble on the right way to "sell" this treachery (black market perhaps? I know a guy who knows a guy...), and then everything'll fall into place for them ("say Rahm, what's the internal polling on this? Nuts -- everyone's against this thing? (Why are they taking it so godd-mn seriously?!) Sh-t, how'm I gonna pull this off now? Rahhhhhh--mmm!!!!").

Agree we've got to keep the heat on. I'm telling everyone I know about this horsesh-t.

Give Barack Obama his due.

Fair enough. As he personally publicly announced his plan to <strike>screw </strike>soak our heroes I might believe he has given up on his stupid idea when he personally announces his flip/flop of his idea.

Not only is Bella Pelosi spinning like a top, but it's evidently Rahm Emanuel's *job* to co-opt any "approved" media (like the Daily Show, MS-NBC or the Washington Post) before they have a chance to crystallize a common theme (namely the one we've been commenting about on HotAir since the beginning of this adminstration).

Next task: Start to pin down Rahm, expose his slipping & sliding, so that *he* starts having to answer for his own behavior; he's no innocent here. (Perhaps the John Stewarts of the world can be bothered to probe this, perhaps not.)

So: Where's Bark-n-Lounge been for the past 8+ hours?

Either this is the "lounge" phase -- with the "bark" phase to resume any time now -- at which time The Coastie is owed a Yes-or-No answer to his very fair question -- or else I will take Bark-n-Lounge's silence as a "No".

Barkolounger, that applies to you too: Please keep reminding us why the American populace cannot trust Democrats or liberals to keep the country safe or keep faith with its wounded heroes.

You know, I’d like to see Gush Boombaugh and Glen Peckerhead put up the money for one of those USA TODAY ads with current troops voicing their intent to leave the service ’cause of The One (Dweeb). Send this pathetic “commander in chief” a clear message.

klickink.wordpress.com on March 18, 2009 at 5:51 PM

If they can turn his complete transcript rhetoric into a simple “I hope he fails,” they would have a field day this. For him to just be garnering popular military opinion, they would paint it in the worst and embellish it. Inciting insurrection and or mutiny is against the law. Bad idea.

Also, throwing your real names out there for barkolounger I think was a bad idea also. If he did he serve he would have said so. I'm not sure he even inferred.

Ooops ’stop loss’ was wonderful and our troops loved it.

There was no need to doubt our CiC had our troops’ best at heart then, and while we had complete control of congress we corrected the horror show inflicted upon our brave soldiers returning from duty. Sorry I missed that.

barkolounger, I'm not sure what you are, but I agree with Vanceone. You sure sound like a Moby whose aim is to make the thread sound like Hot Air commenter’s are inciting a mutiny. Bush-bashing comes out in a Moby thread so easily and IDs them like holding a cross in front of a vampire. You guys can't help yourselves. Also, what horror show were you referring to?

As far as Stop-Loss, do you even understand how that works? President Bush and his administration never said to prevent everyone from getting out. They gave commanders of deploying units authority keep key and vital members of their organizations intact for the big jump. There is also Stop Movement. It can keep members of the organization from PCSing or going to a school that would keep them from deploying. I know of no soldier in any of our organizations that went off the deep end because one of our commanders Stop Lossed or used Stop Movement on them. Additionally, any soldier has the right to petition the command with a memorandum for record requesting an exception to policy for the SL, SM.

No, I’m challenging your opinion that says now, when our country is in such peril from enemies foreign and domestic, YOU claim that is an appropriate time to leave the military.

The mast majority of service personnel I know do not trust his motivation or ability to lead. There is gigantic talk in the ranks about getting out after our deployment. Again, very Moby-like argument on your part.

And you have the nerve to ask if I have ever served. What do you think, and why?

barkolounger on March 18, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Why? Your comments were condescending towards an active duty service member and "any" grunt, squid, jarhead, coastie or zoomie would be saying to him or herself, who the heck is this guy to be demanding obedience? "Hmm, I wonder if he even served himself." Perfectly natural question that I see you managed to skip out on without even definitively answering.

Made me wonder!

At least they seperate “service” and “war related”.

I know more “service-related” disabled vets who fell off barstools and are now collecting “disability” and government goodies as “disabled vets”, than I can count. Biggest scam going.

One thing I kinda agreed with Obama on and he’s abandoning it.

The biggest scam going is the financial mess started by the Community Reinvestment Act. How many trillions has that cost us? The CRA is still being defended by Barney Frank and used to force banks to make bad loans. Retirees have been robbed the most by this well-intended but failed government policy.

But let's see what you said on an earlier thread:

There’s no free lunch and resources will always be limited. If you weren’t wounded in battle, you’re getting treated at the VA and you have private insurance, your private insurance should pay.

Service is not like a civilian job. Servicemen and women give up more freedom than in any civilian job. They can be ordered into a combat or war zone at any time. They cannot sue for injuries. They can be denied sleep or rest except for four hours out of 24, and if they have special duties, they may not get that much. If a serviceman, taken from family and friends, sent to a distant country, made to work 20 hours a day in a cargo bay, falls off a bar stool in an off moment and hurts himself... why then the American public owes that man a debt. Whether he helped us stay prepared for defense, kept those in combat areas supplied or risked combat himself, the public makes special obligations in return for a stint of near-complete servitude. As Jon Stewart pointed out, that is what has been promised and it is very FAIR.

Requiring a serviceman to pay money out of his own pocket (such as a 20% PPO copay) for an injury received while in the service is neither fair nor just. He had to surrender rights and privileges; in return we the public made a promise to take care of him.

NoDonkey, you are a terrible Demo shill. That is why I ask you, in all sincerity: Please keep up this line of argument. I want every veteran, and friends and family of veterans to know that Democrats have no intention of keeping faith with them. The mid-term elections will come soon.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed you military guys showing bark-o exactly where he could stick his comments. The guy looked like a pincushion after all those posts. Obama reminds me of a 12 year old trying to run a corporation with his parent's help. They tell him what to do, he screws it up, he gets yelled at, he cries, he goes back to mommy, and the whole sordid process starts all over again. The Democrats and lapdog media are going to pay big time for this disaster. Every Republican campaign ad will say, "so and so is just another Obama....you don't want THAT again, do ya?".
Well, I'm off to convert my 401K to gold and bury it in the yard.
