The California Legislature makes AIG, Obama and even Tim Geithner look like financial geniuses by comparison.

All those stories about Californians being complete nuts couldn't be true, could it?

I’m sort of lost here. How do they attack motorcyclists? Is there a new tax on actors riding Harlies?

I think he means, “off road vehicle permits”.

Its like the normal vehicle registration for cars.
It was started in 1973, allegedly to generate funds to “buy” areas for off road vehicle use.

Millions (if not Billions) have been paid, anyone wanta guess how much land has been bought?

And in the meantime, we are out of paper in my department at work, and say what you will about budget cuts–which I would likely agree with–public schools should not run out of paper halfway through the school year.
Bob's Kid
There is no frigging way in hell CA schools could be short of money.

Prop 98, 40 cents of EVERY dollar the state collects goes to the schools.

60 cents of every dollar from property taxes goes directly to schools.

And that’s on top of the “normal” budgeted money for schools.

Look it’s bad enough we have to take responsibility for the rest of those morons, but please don’t lump McKinney in as a Californian. That crazy B!$@#$ is from Georgia. Pardon my French.
Take McKinney off the list but add Pete Stark, the a**hole from my district.

Ya know, I just realized how long it’s been since I’ve heard or read anything like this post that comes from within the state! There are some talk show hosts who go at it, but it seems as though the California Republican Party doesn’t know how to maintain a “PR” campaign for their side of things.

I’ve grown so used to the silence, the seemingly bad selections that challenge Boxer and Feinstein (who knows if they’re any good? The Dems slaughter them in the media department) and no push-back of any kind philosophically…it’s amazing. It’s almost as if conservatives out here have to just take it…without KY!

I hope a chunk of Californians do Go Galt. Hopefully, they don’t do it by moving east and infecting other states, like is being done to Nevada.

Well, its not like they/we can move west LOL

I would think that most of the people moving out of California are small business owners, large business owners and more conservative-leaning individuals who are fed up with the high cost of doing anything in this state.

The libs still don't realize that there's anything wrong around here.

Look, this is what the Country may decsend to if The One continues to be led by the ear by Pelosi.

California legislators are controlled by a South Central L.A. cabal that only has one purpose, self and their myopic view of "community".

Their special interest does not serve mine. Poor Governator, he never had a chance.

Those states not yet sunk by migrating libcusts have to put in their State Constitution tax and spending limitations on their Legislatures, supermajority requirements like 70 percent and then approval by state referendum. Of course the one item that could drastically reduce the spending, that in order to vote for state legislators you have to own or rent property and if not disabled, pay income taxes would be tossed out of court.

The whole idea of liberty has been thrown away, because your behavior and/or actions are being judged and penalized by the government.

Exit Question #1: How long before California starts taxing/penalizing people for having more than 2 kids?

The icing on the cake...last November we were already aware of the impending budget implosion, yet California voters approved a bond to build a high-speed rail line.

Better yet, the bond DOESN'T EVEN GENERATE ENOUGH REVENUE TO BUILD THE FREAKING THING. As insane as most voters are out here, I can't bring myself to believe that more than half of the voters approved of this. I call shenanigans.

Here in IL, we're $11 billion in the hole (that we know of). Blago's replacement Quinn and fellow D's will raise the state income tax 50% and the state gas tax 25%+.

Not one dime of spending cuts in a state with over 7,000 agencies to choose from.

Believe it or not Sacramento county voted for Bush over Gore and Kerry………the only real problem is inside the capital.

A lot of people outside of California don't realize that if we could somehow eject Los Angeles and San Francisco into the Pacific Basin (a recurring dream I keep having), it would be an entirely different state.

I'm all for a moratorium. The state legislature cannot meet for the next 10 years.

And in the meantime, we are out of paper in my department at work, and say what you will about budget cuts–which I would likely agree with–public schools should not run out of paper halfway through the school year.

Bob's Kid

Find the grants administrator and fire their ass. The salary saved will fund your paper. They are the reason you don't have any.
