Video: Cheney on Rush v. Obama debate
posted at 4:34 pm on March 15, 2009 by Michelle
Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Rush Limbaugh: “Rush is a good friend…I think he does great work and has for years.” Cheney says he would pay to see Rush and Obama debate. “I think Rush is a good man and serves a very important purpose.”

Rush vs. Obama?
The only thing guaranteed to happen is that no matter what, Stephanopolous will declare Obama the winner.

You are going to see the MSM and all liberals rally around Obama like you never imagined. These people have too much a stake they will find a way to counter every mistake Obama makes and spin it into gold. It will be trench warfare, neither side giving in, but the 68 million voters who put him in office will not change their minds and it will be 4 more years and then enshrinement into the hall of fame. Hey the crisis is already beginning to pass and we will have avoided the end of the world because he was there to save the day. The freedoms lost won’t even be understood for years and years. The generation that will pay the bill in full will finally change the direction of slow destruction. Every liberal I know believes it was all President Bush and Obama inherited his whirlwind and they will never believe anything else I haven’t seen a single one move away from that position or question it in the least. The talking heads on one side or another are just talking heads and will say whatever gets them the next talking job.

OK, you can ask your mommie for help on this one..
Speaking of ‘above the law’ can you provide any defense for the Rezko-Obama land deal??
You know,
1. Obama wanted to buy a mansion that he couldn’t afford because the sale was contingent on the sale of an adjacent lot.
2. Convict Tony Rezko’s wife decides out of the blue to purchase the adjacent lot.
3. Obama pays a lot less for his property and Rezko;s wife overpays
4. Obama apparently never paid taxes on this ‘gift;
5. The Real estate appraisers were coerced to ‘cook the appraisals’
6. Rezko’s wife sells a 10 foot strip of land to Obama for under market value rendering the rezko lot unbuildable … another gift on which tax was never paid.
7. Rezko wanted to take over the board of a children’s hospital. So a certain illinois senator.. Saint Obama – pushes a bill to reduce the number of board members effectively purging all of rezko’s opposition
so
1. A quid pro quo – ILLEGAL
2. Tampering with appraisals – ILLLEGAL
3. Not paying taxes on the gifts – ILLEGAL
4. Screwing with a kid’s hospital – BENEATH CONTEMPT – but what do you expect from a guy who thought it was OK to let babies die of starvation and exposure.
So, Maybe you can take a minute or two away from pleasuring yourself in front of the obama poster and try to defend THAT.
BTW – President Teleprompter would get his butt kicked trying to debate at a freshman high school forensics meet. Hell, Presidente Teleprompter would get his skinny butt kicked debating one of my chickens.

It does not matter since they were not held accountable. Our new and future Presidents can do the same.
As far as the President’s debating skills, well he won.

(1) That’s not a list, that’s a Google search.
(2) Ignoring the 1st pt, presidents are beholden to the law when they take the oath of office.
(3) You can lose a debate and still be POTUS.
(4) “He won.” You sound like someone I’m always seeing on TV.
You have any original thoughts?

Ha those are all opinions not facts !
Show me a Supreme Court Judgement (highest Court in the land) that says Bush is a law breaker.
Hint to you getalife. People can bring charges against anyone but you have to have a judgement made against you. And all presidents have had their policies reversed by the Supreme Court that doesnt make it illegal. And Foreign laws dont apply in the US.

As far as your delusion that obama “won the debates”.. Nope – wrongo.. BTW – There is a term for that type of argument. Forget what it is but you have presented no evidence.
Now, if you are talking about obama stealing the election… then we have to take into account illegal donations, Acorn, Black Panther thugs intimidating voters in philly, A tingly legged fifth column press.. Take that crap away and he would have done a mondale.
By the way, You have not answered my question about our Current Usurper in Chief. Since you aren’t able to defend the Rezko-obama land deal, then I have to assume you agree that the deal was illegal on several accounts and obama has evaded justice. Glad we agreee on that.

Problem with the rezko line of attack is that it has already been used and turned out to be a dud.
When Fitzgerald goes out of his way to profess Obama’s innocence we have a hard time making the circumstantial and in some cases innuendo stick.
Until evidence of the block quoted claims surface then this will be dismissed as more of the whitewater style attacks that the public doesn’t regard as reliable this many years on.
However, if new examples of corruption appear then we tie rezko in as evidence of a pattern.
IMO that’s the only way to use rezko going forward without looking like hacks or quacks.

Let’s be honest here folks; NO Liberal will ever debate Rush Limbaugh. They will all try their best to destroy Rush’s character, and reduce Rush’s popularity by any means possible. I love the ‘defend obama at all costs’
Let’s just start out with one assumption. If someone breaks into their neighbor’s house and steals $100 off the desk have they committed a crime?? It is obvious that they have even if they never get brought to justice.
So, with the obama-rezko land deal can look at the facts in the case and make an arugument for anything other than the fact that multiple laws were broken?? Don’t give me the “fitzfgerald didn’t prosecute” crap. Fitz is afraid of a situation that would make the Rodney King riots look like a Kubaya singalong if the messiah were to be indicted.
This is why obama would get his butt kicked by any of the several dozen people mentined. When you argue blindly based on Ideologoy and Idolatry with a “Because I said so” then you can only win when the press spins it that way.
So, my challenge stands.. Can you provide any coherent defense of the actions of obama in the rezko-obama-hospital board debacle???
BTW – some ex paperhanger, ex corporal austrian nutcase was never found guilty of any crimes. However, anyone with a couple of functioning brain cells can make an airtight case that he was guilty as hell.

It is almost impossible to express how much I appreciate Dick Cheney and his great service to the nation. To my mind, Cheney is the deputy version of Cincinnatus. That’s pretty much my experience too. However there is a new factor creaping into the political equation. I’m finding that the Obama supporters are getting increasingly defensive about their leader whining that it’s only 50 or so days and we need to give him a chance. To me that’s almost an admission that their guy is doing as well as expected.

The only reason the ‘battle’ for conservatism is happening is because BCR abandoned the party right after emboldening the religious right in order to win in 04.
They let the genie out of the bottle and left.
Yes it has been an uneasy coalition for a long time, but at a minimum, under Bush the party has become a place of intolerance and bigotry. Our party is now seen as the party trying to control how people live their lives, that HAS to be someone’s fault, no?.
Our party now requires a Christian loyalty oath to feel welcome.
We have a party where Islam is the enemy, not political terrorists using an obscure fundamentalist interpretation of Islam to recruit members.
Do any of you think Cheney views Islam as the problem?
Do any of you remember the log cabin republicans?

DAVID BRODER: End of Obama’s Honeymoon: “Among those who follow government closely, there has been an unmistakable change in tone in the past few weeks. These are not little Rush Limbaughs hoping that Obama fails. They are politicians and journalists measuring him with the same skeptical eye they apply to everyone else. . . . Meantime, on the main challenge — the economy — the criticism has begun to infect the mainstream media as well as the conservative wing.”
I think one reason for the demonization of Rush Limbaugh — and, even more significantly, the coordinated attack on pro-Obama critics — has been an effort to forestall this development. I also think it’s backfired.
The fact that the potus attacked a private citizen in Rush Limbaugh, is scary to most Americans no matter their ideology. The potus should always rise above such behavior. Both Obama and Clinton have lowered the standards of the office of President, and will be recognized for having done so as historians write about this era. Obama has a ways to go to catch up with Clinton, but at the pace he’s on, he’ll surpass Clinton in his first year.

Obama would have a very difficult time in a debate with Cheney. I just can’t see Barry holding his own.
Think back to the Cheney – Edwards debate in 2004. That was an old-fashioned ass kicking delivered by Cheney to the smug, cocky Edwards. Woo hoo! Hey, Obama could wipe out the deficit with a pay per view debate with Rush – I would definitely pay to see that!!!!!!!!!

If I remeber correctly, Cheney is writing his memoirs right now.

MEMO TO MICHEAL STEELE: That is how you handle the Media when they try to bait you.
Gotta love Cheney!!

I’d love to see that debate. Rush squaring off against Jimmy Carter Jr., no doubt it would end with Obama’s dissection.

Power Line has more excerpts from Cheney:
On the Obama administration’s retreat from some of the Bush administration’s security policies:
KING: I’d like to just simply ask you, yes or no, by taking those steps, do you believe the president of the United States has made Americans less safe?
CHENEY: I do…
King recoils as Cheney continues and comes back with this:
KING: That’s a pretty serious thing to say about the president of the United States…
CHENEY: Well…
KING: … and commander in chief of the military. So I want to give you a chance, because many people will say, Vice President Cheney just said Barack Obama, President Obama is making us less safe, more at risk, which you just said. I want to give you a chance — and take as much time as you want — to prove it…
Cheney makes a comment and King presses him. The Cheney lowers the boom:
CHENEY: John, I’ve seen a report that was written based upon the intelligence that we collected then that itemizes the specific attacks that were stopped by virtue of what we learned through those programs. It’s still classified. I can’t give you the details of it without violating classification, but I can say there were a great many of them. The one that has been public was the potential attack coming out of Heathrow, when they were going to have several American planes with terrorists on board, with liquid explosives, and they were going to blow those planes up over the United States.
Now, that was intercepted and stopped, partly because of those programs that we put in place…

how about Rush and Mr.Cheney doing a tag team debate against the Boob and his sidekick Peanuts. Man, Amtrak couldn’t run fast enough to get them out of town. I would give my stimulus tax break to see that.

LOL, now CNN gets into the business of defending presidents from charges they’ve made America less safe.
Ryan Gandy on March 15, 2009 at 9:15 PM
Atta boy! That’s EXACTLY how you handle it. Even if you weren’t Cheney who has nothing to lose, his answer could be used by just about any Republican.
I like Rush. I mostly agree with him on policy, regardless of what you may think about his tone or reputation among those who have never bothered to listen to his show, and I think he serves an important purpose in educating millions of citizens.
Nicely done. Cheney. Unapologetic.

Careful what you wish for; tearing away Ogabe’s skin would expose the lizard man underneath.
“V” was more prescient than people might think.

To be fair, it really wouldn’t be a debate at all.
Rush would wipe the floor with obama’s chin

Forgot about that… Back in the days before totally Politically correct bs. .. like when the priest whips out the submachinegun and starts shooting lizards.
I have to dust off the old memories though.. The people were totally sucked in by the rhetoric even as they were being turned into happy meals for the aliens.
We need the telepathic hot blonde girl and the magic dust.. oh wait, we do have anne coulter and obama isn’t unfamiliar with mr. coke…
