The employee Free Choice Act is an Orwellian way to refer to something I find to be un-American and opposed to the concept of Individual Liberty. I do not support it in its current form and I will not support it in any form.

American private enterprise has the right, and under my watch, will always have the right, to make it own operating decisions in regards to unionized labor. We, the Government of the People and by the People, will not infringe upon that right by pandering to special interest groups such as Unions.

She’s being polite in front of the Alaska Legislature which has a fair number of Democrat members but she’ll never vote for card check. Never.

Currently, the employees vote directly twice, one of which is the secret ballot, and a third time through their bargaining representatives. Under the proposed rules, the employees would sign a card and then they are totally out of the process from that point on…

The unions are not going to be happy with a watered down version, especially one deleting the secret ballot and enforced government arbitration.

Actually I kind of like the way Capt. Ed said it. Hearing footprints brings a creepy factor to the issue, and Specter needs to be creeped out.

If Specter can hear the footprints of the ghost that just brushed by, instead of the footsteps of the constituents that put him in office, then he is spooked.

Hey Obongo, even the threat of Card Check is costing Americans good jobs with top-notch benefits. In your estimates, please subtract 2,500 from the number of jobs you intend to create.

My wife’s company, a domestic manufacturer, recently steered new business to one of their overseas facilities, business that should have been handled in the US. That new business would have meant roughly 2,500 new full-time employees, but management is scared of what’s coming, particularly Card Check, so the work will be done in Asia instead. They didn’t want to spend millions on startup costs only to have to spend it again to move the work offshore next year.

It appears Specter is working for the title of the ultimate RINO. In fact, there’s talk he might jump to the Dems. I’m sure glad Bush and Santorum threw all their support and funding behind Arlen in the 2004 GOP primary/sarc.
