The Ed Morrissey Show: Michelle Malkin, Jim Geraghty

posted at 1:00 pm on March 11, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), I’d better straighten up and fly right, because the boss is paying a visit from headquarters. Michelle Malkin joins us in the first half to talk about … whatever she wants to talk about. (Did I mention she’s the boss?) I’m sure we’ll talk about the omnibus bill and the eight Republicans in the Senate who caved on it, Barack Obama’s determination to fight pork er, uh, later, and Nancy Pelosi’s diva act with the Air Force.

In the second half, Jim Geraghty of Campaign Spot arrives on his own private jet, heady from a week of hosting a nationally-syndicated talk show while avoiding TEMS. We’ll ask Jim what it’s like to work with the famous Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson, and whether he got the brown M&Ms removed from the courtesy table. We’ll also talk more about politics!

Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.) Jazz Shaw of The Moderate Voice moderates the chat, and he has his Troll Gun Trivia Contest running before the show, for those who get there early — and are registered!

Since I can’t participate while at work (my dictator of a boss blocks streaming!), be sure to skewer Lamar Alexander for me. I sent him a polite and respectful email last week, tonight’s won’t be as nice.

Beat me to the punch. Every time they post a Michelle thread with a great picture like that I immediately lose interest in the topic of the thread.

Heart goes thump, thump, thump.

Knowing she is one of our Conservative icons is just icing on the cake. I hope they have a great show.

Focus, gentlemen. If you can’t multitask, do remember that the boss is married.

Of course she is. And a class act to boot.

I know you would Sir. It won’t be much of being “in” the fight if they just need me for the RIP. It’ll be doing environmental training at Kandahar and command visits with the boss to Qualat, TK and other FOBs in RC South.Enjoy the time with the family in a nice environment while you can. They’ll have you back before you know it.

I’m sure we’ll talk about the omnibus bill and the eight Republicans in the Senate who caved on it,

If I may, how about as part of the discussion, some good candidates to replace any of the Republicans who caved, House or Senate? Sounds like a great time for some analysis of Pat Toomey as far as the Senate is concerned for the PA voters.

Crap, ignore the first cut and paste.

Hmm, how about this as a topic of discussion? The talk in my office today is the proposed pay raise for the military from the Obama Administration. (2.9%) That is nice and we’ll take it; especially in these times. What frosts my 4th point of contact is the hypocrisy over the rise for last year. The Democrats made quite the political issue with the Bush Administrations 3.0 pay raise in 08. See here. So, where are the similar admonitions to the Obama Administration for cutting the military raise? You know it would be a story if the shoe were on the other foot. At least worthy of a thread for discussion?

These are the words from the Presidents own guy last year about the Bush Administrations 3.0 proposal.

Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel:
“We ask our troops to risk their lives for our nation. We ask their spouses to raise families and make ends meet without them as they serve. The President is a lot of talk when it comes to supporting the troops and their families. It’s easy to say you support our troops, but actions matter and when it comes to the treatment of our troops and their families, our resources must match our rhetoric.”

Now his Administration is proposing 2.9 before the Congress? Does anyone else get tired of trying to point out the hypocrisy. For me, I’ll take either raise in good faith. I just wish the Democrats and media would quit using the military as political pawns and only showing an interest in us when it suits them politically.

Ed & Michelle beat the hell outta’ listening to Sean Hannity, who I am very weary of.

Thanks, Ustream, really enjoyed the 5 minutes of programing you allowed me to view today. ‘Course since you list the show as 1146 minutes long, I probable wouldn’t have made it througth the whole thing anyway.

Finally, someone posted what I’ve been muttering to myself every time… you know.

manwithblackhat on March 11, 2009 at 10:22 PM

Ed could you add Itunes for the audio? We would at least be able to hear these shows without all the hassle. UStream is awful, few shows seem to be complete.
