Hot Air TV: Rangel vs. Mattera

Our intrepid Hot Air TV special correspondent Jason Mattera is back on Capitol Hill! You’ve watched him corner smear merchants Jack Murtha and John Kerry, ask William “Cold Cash” Jefferson for bribe-freezing tips, and roam the Democrat National Convention in an orange Gitmo suit exposing far Left insanity. This time he catches tax cheat Charlie Rangel and confronts him about his mounting ethical and financial scandals.
Charlie Rangel’s message for Jason – and for all you bothersome taxpayers wondering about his shady rental property deals, publicly-subsidized Cadillac, and unpaid taxes:
“Why don’t you mind your goddamned business?”
Because, you damned corruptocrat, you are a servant of the public — not the other way around.
Paging Nancy “most ethical Congress ever” Pelosi. Paging Nancy Pelosi…
(Special thanks to camerawoman Alyssa Cordova)

The plantation system is alive and well thanks to Baracko, Charlie, Al, Slick Willie, Hitlery, and 99.9% of Dems.
If Soros has his way, there will soon be 300M slaves in the US.

Time to lance that boil. Thanks, Jason.
Western_Civ on March 9, 2009 at 11:40 AM
Why did Jason feel it necessary to go with “why the hell” in his first question? That automatically lowers the discourse to “fight club” level. If someone were to ask me ANYTHING by starting with “what the hell,” I’m sure my response would have been equally combative. You lost me on this one, Jason. I would have liked to have heard an answer on that question, too. You picked a fight–you didn’t ask a question.
bodotdot on March 9, 2009 at 11:48 AM
Ethics and Charlie Rangel. Can you actually mention both in the same sentence?

There are not enough four letter words to describe this guy. He and others should be brought before a committee and allow taxpayers to sit on the panel in the house and demand they answer questions for their actions. Sickening site when people like him in Congress try and sit in judgment of others about ethics, etc.
hillbilly on March 9, 2009 at 12:17 PM
Jason should watch out, Rangel is scary, he looks like one of those people who solve problems by making “offers” people can’t refuse. I hope Jason doesn’t own a horse.

Do Liberal politicians go through emergency training that results in the “rush to the elevator” option?
Or does Jason cause this in them? Because every time he confronts a Liberal, they run for the buttons!
And umm, mind your own Godd**ned business? Tax payer money being spent to coddle Rangel isn’t his (Jason’s) or our business?
Good grief.
Let them eat cake indeed.

Just watched the video of the Munoz politician in Chicago. Its at the top of the home page. These people are on to something. Instead of just voicing our distain for these crooks on the internet, we need to take it to them. Bring a friend and your video camera. Corner these people, ask them the tough questions. Get tough but try to show a little bit of respect but with anger. Do this type of thing to Dodd and Barney Frank.
The only way we can get things to change is if we stand together. We confront these POS’s with video cameras. It seems since our Republican leaders do next to nothing, we citizens whom these people are suppose to work for need to take it into our own hands.
I have no video camera but I am going to save for one, borrow one. This clip along with the other shows just what we need to do. Come on people, we cant just sit and comment on the net. That isnt going to change a thing.

Great idea. Actually, Hot Air could go back to their “Vents” and publicize such encounters. It would be a great draw. Most of us will be unemployed soon so we won’t have the excuse of limited time.
carbon_footprint on March 9, 2009 at 3:23 PM
The stream of Democratic hypocrisy continues unabated, along with the stream of mainstream media who choose to ignore it. Until we have an independent and responsible press it’s hard to see any change coming to Washington, unless it’s the bad kind of change that is.
P.S. I had a trackback here, but it disappeared. Is HotAir getting picky about who trackbacks AP? Am I not “cool enough”? Was it something I said?

DanaSmiles on March 9, 2009 at 7:58 PM
Unfortunately, I’m gonna have to agree with the person who mentioned that Mattera started his question with “why the hell…” You can’t meet a person for the first time then start a question with “why the hell…” Mattera seemed to not be looking for an answer but rather wanted to automatically start a fight by instantly making the conversation hostile. Rangell is a crook, no doubt, and he’s a scumball, but this made Mattera look bad too. Made him look childish by refusing to simply ask a reasonable question instead of turning it into a grandstanding moment.
TheBlueSite on March 9, 2009 at 8:17 PM
Rick Santelli, we need you!
HotAirJosef on March 9, 2009 at 8:20 PM
Mattera shouldn’t have said “hell.” As far as I know, he hasn’t used anything but G-rated language in his previous ambushes. “Why in the world” would have been just fine, or even “why the heck.” “Hell” turns it into grandstanding and street theater a la Code Pink rather than a serious, journalistic inquiry.
Otherwise, Jason was spot on.

Just watched it again, and I have to say, in contrast to the previous poster, I’m glad he got aggressive. I know his style has always been to kind of innocently pose his questions, and lead them in. However, as these charlatans keep upping the ante with their crooked activities, it’s refreshing to see controlled anger being communicated. He wasn’t raving or ranting, nor was he flying off the handle. He was being direct and powerful.
I really, really hope he can parlay his charisma into office at some point.

Glenn Beck just had Jason & this clip on.
beancounter on March 10, 2009 at 5:38 PM
Glenn Beck just featured this, which is why i guess this got boosted to the top of the page.
I think we do need to do this sort of thing. If the media is going to continue to NOT cover these things and ask the questions, it is left to us. Now while the Hotair guy could have started off with something other than “why the hell…” I see nothing wrong with citizens doing this. I think it has to be done.
I think we have to be angry and as citizens and NOT being part of the media, we as citizens have right to approach them with an angry tone. Hoair, while not really a media outlet, is kinda part of the internet media.
I disagree with Beck and his guest on this. I see nothing wrong at all with any of us doing this and running to post it on the net. Rangel is clearly corrupt and has no business in a government position let alone writing tax code. WE need to do this because the media isnt. The only way to spread the word to those who are not aware of what goes on, is to in fact, spread this on the net as fast as we can.
I urge anyone to take part of Glenn’s We Surround Them program. IT is highly important we forge groups within our community that share these views and values. The bigger the group, the more ideas. The more we can try to do together to change things and make our voices heard.
I echo what Ive said before. We can sit all day and talk amongst ourselves about how bad everything is and this and that. But what is that doing?! Nothing. It isnt changing your community. It isnt spreading the word. It is time to take it to the streets in a way. It is time to do exactly what Beck is talking about.
Find a group who may be meeting to watch this special on Friday. You may be surprised how many close to you feel the same way about which way this country is headed. This, I believe, is the only choice we have at this point. Join together, create ideas, and take action in a civil way.
bucsox79 on March 10, 2009 at 5:38 PM
oh we don’t have a choice, the MSM is acting as the offical Pravada of the Dems as much as they can. Dems could not win power without them.

Have a giveaway in Rangels district – Giveaway 1000 video iPods- Have the goddamned Rangel video on it and that is it. Write protect them so they cannot be updated….wouldn’t that be a kick? Get all the kids jazzed up and all they can see is Uncle Charlie……
izoneguy on March 10, 2009 at 5:48 PM
You’re right jp. I agree. And I think its time more of US do this sort of thing. Though while trying to maintain from cursing or rudeness.
We have no other choice at this point. Anyone in Massachusetts? Get your camera and a friend and take it to Barney Frank. Connecticut? Go after Dodd.
etc
Go prepared. Know what you are talking about and ask the right questions. Get them on tape answering/ignoring the questions of their corruption and such.
I wish to God someone, an every day citizen could track down Pelosi and ask her about her shenanigans. Like the recently discovered issue with her and family taking military planes for travel.
I repeat, find a group near you that is meeting for the We Surround Them special on Friday. We cant just keep this on the internet. It is past time to take it to our towns/cities. Get a group together and talk about what you can do as a group. Our politicians have failed us on both sides. They dont listen to us. Government is headed in a horrible direction now with Obama. The only chance we have is ourselves because the media clearly isnt going to do their jobs.
bucsox79 on March 10, 2009 at 5:50 PM
Etiquette: When you should apply “mind your goddamed business”
1 When Nancy Pelosi is asked why she uses military planes for personal trips.
2 When Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is asked if his IQ is actually lower than custard pudding.
3 When Tim Geitner is asked if he is a spy working for Newt Gingrich to sabotage Obama.
4 When Hilary Clinton is asked if she ever did anything decent or had a pure thought.

I just sent this to MSNBC on their website under Contact Us and Send Tips. Im going to start regularly sending this type of stuff to them and calling them.
Intelligence Pick Withdraws Name Amid Controversy
National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair announced former Ambassador Chas Freeman’s decision in a statement Tuesday.
Here is another tip. How about starting to report the actual news in an UNBIASED manner!!!!! You people are absolutely HORRIBLE. Let me guess, when you cover this story, if at all, you wont bother to mention how so far Obama’s admin. vetting process has been disgraceful will you? I bet if it had been Bush, youd have no problem covering it the way it shouldve been covered.
Your outlet is a disgrace and more and more people are starting to realize. You are not a news source, you are a liberal, biased garbage outlet owned by a liberal, failed CEO who is on Obama’s financial advisory committee. Just like your owner drove GE into the ground, I hope he does the same to your station. Until you actually our balanced and fair in your coverage and reporting you will always be a failure in the ratings.

I’m sure that you’re correct.
Still, someone needs to string together some of the recent greatest hits and beat Dems over the head. Maybe label it “Rather than the party of ‘no,’ Democrats are the party of ‘anything goes.’”
I’d love to see this clipped to Shumer’s “chattering class” clip.
POS. All.
BuckeyeSam on March 10, 2009 at 6:18 PM
There’s a lot of evidence that the 17th Amendment allowed party politics to take over Washington. The federal government in its entirety would be less partisan if that mistake were repealed, and Representatives like Rangel would find it more difficult to hide in the shadows with the greater scrutiny the House would bear.

Cripes! could Rangel come across as any more of an arrogant prick?
cruadin on March 10, 2009 at 6:58 PM
That’s a fine idea but it must be presented as an unbiased news organization in the same way that a liberal dominated CNN, MSNBC, or any other news outlet does.
It is also important that they attack corruption from any politician regardless of party. If a channel would shine the light of truth on politicians and bankers, this nation would go a long way towards turning some of this moral corruption around.
Couple that with taking the unions and the federal government out of education and this nation would be unstoppable.
True_King on March 10, 2009 at 7:44 PM
Yes! You can. It would go something like this:
Charlie Rangel knows that ethics are a set of standards of behavior that only apply to elected Republican officials.
See, not that hard at all…..
