Hot Air TV: Rangel vs. Mattera

Our intrepid Hot Air TV special correspondent Jason Mattera is back on Capitol Hill! You’ve watched him corner smear merchants Jack Murtha and John Kerry, ask William “Cold Cash” Jefferson for bribe-freezing tips, and roam the Democrat National Convention in an orange Gitmo suit exposing far Left insanity. This time he catches tax cheat Charlie Rangel and confronts him about his mounting ethical and financial scandals.
Charlie Rangel’s message for Jason – and for all you bothersome taxpayers wondering about his shady rental property deals, publicly-subsidized Cadillac, and unpaid taxes:
“Why don’t you mind your goddamned business?”
Because, you damned corruptocrat, you are a servant of the public — not the other way around.
Paging Nancy “most ethical Congress ever” Pelosi. Paging Nancy Pelosi…
(Special thanks to camerawoman Alyssa Cordova)

Nice way to expose the truth about Rangel.

Taxes for thee, but not for me!
charley is bulletproof in Harlem. He is a permanent fixture, because he’s created a complete dependency class there.
It’s sad to know that those people who are beholden to him, never moving up to live their dreams. Imagine having to depend on him for your entire life?
I have told my teens over and over again, NEVER depend on anyone but yourself.

Still waiting for that one ethical MSM “journalist” to come forward and ask these questions. Thus far, the silence has been deafening.
On a related note: I read yet another opinion piece (local in the South Bend Democrat-talking-point Tribune) about how the demise of newspapers will bring the end of journalism because “real” journalists work for newspapers, or at least start out there, and won’t we all be sorry when they’re gone. The writer (name not worth mentioning – Democrat hack) gave passing reference to the leftist slant of most major newsrags, but just to poo-poo it.
Like the rest of the MSM, he can’t see the forest for the trees. It is the failure of journalists themselves that is mostly responsible for the failure of newspapers. Do your damned job and people will read your work. Must be hoping for the next Ogabe bailout.

GOP or Donkey, public “servants” such as Rangel should be subject to unending public ridicule and unrelenting investigation.
In this case, however, it’s Rangel on the hot seat and under the bright light. Crucify this POS.
And then let’s turn to Barney Frank:

Interestingly, Harlem will probably become a mostly white upper-class neighborhood within the next 5 years. Unfotunately, it will also by extension stay liberal.
So Mr. Ultra-sheen Brylcreem Charlie Wrangler will sadly not be going anywhere soon. Unless the bodies are dug up, and even then, the “brave” attorney general will do nothing.

Send this in to Fox News, Bill OReilly, Hannity, Glenn Beck. You can try CNN and MSNBC but we know they wont air it.
Seriously, a bunch of us should send this in.
bucsox79 on March 9, 2009 at 7:10 AM
Michelle, I really wish people like you, Hannity, Levin, Rush, Mattera, Ingraham and Beck would start a conservative network for television. I would love to see Matteria’s exposes on the tube. This stuff needs to get on the air (TV) so that people can see it. Not everyone has a computer, and not everyone knows about this website.
Call it Hot Air TV.

Rangels arrogance is breathtaking.
CarolynM on March 9, 2009 at 8:06 AM
Believe me, this is part of an extensive effort that we need to undergo (he most likely isn’t the only one).
It is the culture of corruption that must end on both sides.
Comes down to human nature. Once you are elevated by people if you have a weak deposition (as in Rep. Rangel’s case) you succumb to influences from both internal and external sources.
What would be a good measure for people to adopt maybe would be a sort of petition that after a certain number of signatures from a porportion of the constituents there is an immediate investigation on the elected official.
Not sure of the praticality but just a quick thought. It is too long to wait for other elected officials to hold their own accountable. There should be a way for citizens to remove people from office without having to wait for an election.
ckoeber on March 9, 2009 at 8:11 AM
Sweet! That one line sums up his arrogance perfectly.
flipflop on March 9, 2009 at 8:13 AM
Somebody could beat him. Someone young from Harlem that has aspirations and dreams. It would be so easy to show the people there that while they are living like they are, they keep electing Rangel who uses them to enrich himself. People would turn on him very easily in this current political atmosphere. Somebody in the NY area go out and find such a person, preferably a conservative please – with the right conservative message to lift people up. They would win.
suzyk on March 9, 2009 at 8:14 AM
Jason Mattera is minding his own business!!
It is the peoples business what goes on in the nation’s capital!
Talk about role reversal!!!
I’ll tell you what!! It is more the peoples business to keep a close watch on everything that goes on in our government than it is their business to watch everything that goes on in our lives!!!
It is not the governments job to put cameras on every street corner,, to read our emails,, to listen to every word that is spoken on talk radio, to do background checks into some plumber who asks a candidate a tough question!!
We are the ones who should be watching them!!! We are the ones who need to monitor their lives!! They are suppose to be conducting OUR business!! WE pay THEIR salary!!
This is the perfect example of how far we have fallen!!
A citizen who asks a congressman why he didn’t pay his taxes is told to go away and mind his own business!!!

Mercy4Me on March 9, 2009 at 8:58 AM
There are some thoughtful arguments against term limits… but every time I see Charlie Rangel, they all evaporate like the morning mist. After watching Jason’s excellent interview, I can’t think of anything more important than implementing strict term limits and turning over 90% of the House and Senate next election – right after we impeach this turd, and make his final earmark a permanent cell at Leavenworth named after him. Then we should send him Barney Frank and Chris Dodd as cellmates.
Any government that needs corrupt feudal lords to serve as congressmen-for-life, instead of term-limited public servants whose short terms of office help them remember they are both “public” and “servants,” is a government that is not functioning correctly.

While the video is great, Rangle is teflon when it comes to removing him. But he does let his mouth run off, like our VP at times. The best way to use Rangle in this “battle” is to keep taping and finding videos and commentary where Rangle is explicit in his agenda, and archive it somewhere for others to use, ie “The Rangle File” or more important IMO, “The Pelosi File”, (most dangerous women in the U.S.)

Term limits
Can someone tell me, if there is a balance of power, why the congress decides on their own term limits?
And why can they give themselves a raise, and an additional 93K each for “petty cash” expenses?
No bonuses for execs who don’t perform. Right.
swede7 on March 9, 2009 at 9:15 AM
Instant classic!
DarkKnight3565 on March 9, 2009 at 9:18 AM
You know what is troubling? Why arent there any of the GOP leaders speaking out about this sort of thing? None of our politicians publicly ridicule this and demand action!
When ever there is corruption or an embarrassing act commited by a Republican, the Democrats seize the opportunity and hammer on it making sure the public knows and demanding that person step down, get punished, etc.
Our GOP politicians need to do the same. They need to hold press conferences and demand investigations and actions against the likes of this tax cheat, Dodd, and Frank, among others. I am sick of all of us pointing these things out, and they do NOTHING!
bucsox79 on March 9, 2009 at 9:20 AM

“Why don’t you mind your goddamned business?”
Because somebody has to do the work Nancy,Reid, and the “most

Baxter Greene on March 9, 2009 at 9:28 AM
If this were a Republican, his feet would be held to the fire. The Democrats would demand he step down and demand investigations.
Seriously, who the hell do we need to call in the Republican party to get something done? What the heck is wrong with this party?! They just sit and watch these things happen. Sure some will get on the radio with a talk show host and nod their head how awful and corrupt the likes of Rangle are, but once they hang up, they do nothing. They dont hold press conferences demanding action. They dont make damn sure all the public are aware of these crooks. You know, as well as I, that there are still a great number of people who are not aware of the actions and failures of Dodd, Rangle, and Frank.
I am really getting sick of this party. They dont fight, they dont stand up for their principles. This is just pathetic.

Yes indeed, if Congress wants to take over as the 535 CEOs of America, Inc., they should be subject to immediately losing their jobs after poor performance or extreme misbehavior. As Ray put it in Ghostbusters, “I’ve worked in the private sector. It’s brutal. Those people expect results!”
One of the things that makes government interference so destructive and destabilizing to the economy is that government officials are not subject to the same consequences and personal setbacks as private sector management. The CEO of a company is unlikely to take steps to crash the entire sector of the economy his company competes in, even if it was within his power to do so. If he did, his personal fortune and career would suffer. Politicians operate under no such controls, making their behavior wildly unpredictable, and destabilizing any market they interfere in. For Barney Frank, there was never the slightest chance his personal fortune and comfort would be distrubed by his incompetent, or deliberate, destruction of the banking industry. The worst thing that could possibly have happened to him was removal from office, and his “safe seat” made that extremely unlikely. You have to spend a good deal of time perched in a Senate seat to decide your sense of “fairness” should absolutely trump economic freedom and common sense, and the longer you sit in that seat, the more likely you are to start thinking that way.
Doctor Zero on March 9, 2009 at 9:51 AM

He feeds his slaves just enough to get them to the voting booth on s-election day; when if they’d all look around they’d witness the black destruction that Rancid hath wrought.
We need term limits if power is going to be based upon longevity in Congress. The enslaved sheeple of Harlem should not have the power to effect the rest of us with this human puke.

To be serious, no I don’t advocate storming the Capital and chopping off the heads of these a-holes, this man like so many others in public office knows that this will never hurt him. He can say this and do the things he does because too many Americans don’t care. I imagine to his constituents he is just getting his due as a black man who has been held down by the man.
It is the ultimate arrogance yet he knows that nothing will come of this. Believe me if he thought for one minute he might lose his seat over this, he would be doing the “I have sinned against you” bit.
