It may be even worse. I wonder how many of the MSM audience who got it right did so because they also have other sources (e.g., talk radio, online, etc.)? Unless the poll asked for major source and/or excluded those with additional sources, this might cover even worse MSM performance.

I just looked up Tony Blair’s bio and it said he served through 27June 2007. This survey ended on 1 Jun 2007 so unless they were asking who the new PM was going to be I am betting most answered Blair and would have been right.

What is important about surveys is what they do with the info- did they make any changes to their news formats to improve their listeners knowledge? Who wants to bet that Rush/Hannity did but the MSM didn’t because dumbing their viewers down IS their goal?

Sakozy I was following… But British PM not so much. But now under the new administration we don’t need to worry about who runs the UK they aren’t all that important anymore…/s

I agree everytime Obama says he “inheirited” this financial mess it makes me made. Obama was in the Senate… The Dems did the Fannie Fredie stuff and Obama took the money and then hired the crooks as his advisors… He certainly should take a chunk of blame for creating the banking failures… AS should the DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!

This isn’t to say that Repubs didn’t do their part, but they have been held accountable!

So far the Dems have got away with murder! There has got to be some bad Karma in that for them though.

It’s probably that 3rd question that helped the liberal elitist magazines the most in the rating, since I doubt that Sean or Rush placed high priority in covering British politics during a presidential election year.

I think the poll can usefully highlight some audiences that are up on politics, but I think ranking them all numerically based on 3 questions would be a useless and futile effort.

I think Hotair’s audience is the best informed.

William, as I am fairly new to politics, (only really been seriously in to it for the last 5 years), I’m learning a LOT from HA commenters. So I guess you are correct as I sure am not learning this information anywhere else.

Very old survey, dating back to October and the previous administration. It would be interesting to see the results of a newer survey

In particular, if they couldn’t identify them then, what has changed that they should be able to identify them now?

You’ve got to understand lefties. A leftist slant is by definition “non-partisan”, since leftism/liberalism is self-evident truth. “Partisan” is only possible for those who are right-of-center.

I’ve been saying that for years Jvette. I think the media pushed both the story and message from both OIF and OEF and used polls to track their progress in running both theaters into the toilet.

Yes, things grew really intense in 2004 as the election grew closer. The MSM(traitors)demoralized with their news coverage and most definitely influenced opinion polls by reporting only the bad while ignoring the good.

My husband has been on the receiving end of many a rant about this very subject. Got to the point that we couldn’t even discuss the subject civilly. My husband is a Democrat by the way, as was I before becoming a better informed adult. Of course, I mean him no offense, he’s a good man.

I know a lot of yuppies who like to (very) smugly announce that they only listen to NPR; Like that’s some brilliant badge of honor, or something.

Most disturbing aspect of the survey: 18% of Americans got all three questions correct?! No wonder we ended up with idiot boy.
