Frum’s critique of Limbaugh is that he unnecessarily alienates those we need to persuade — the moderates and almost-conservatives — by engaging in gratuitous provocations which are more cathartic than forensic. And yet when it comes to the people Frum first needs to persuade — the mainstream of the conservative movement — he engages in precisely the same style of “debate” through invective.

Physician, heal thyself. It’s like an insurance salesman trying to sell me on a fixed-rate annuity while sporadically insulting my wife.

This whole controversy is a traffic boost to anyone talking about. It’s all anyone wants to talk about, it seems, because it is, ultimately, about personalities, people, scrapes, sniping, emotion and draaaamaa.

You don’t need a lot of analysis or heavy intellectualizing to enjoy this debate, or get in on it. Just pick your side and go to town.

Go call him a lemming. He’ll rip you a new one worse than I did.

For the record, if Rush Limbaugh had minced his words, he would have failed to articulate the point that really rankles with this administration: Barack Obama is a Marxist. Winning an election has not changed that. It has given him what he considers a mandate… “I won.” But America is still a center right country; the majority of Americans believe in capitalism and personal liberty. As Europe crumbles, that option looks less appealing.

Doesn’t this kind of response qualify as the reaction of a cultist? “I don’t need to read the article because I just know the dear leader Rush is right”

Rush would do well to shed a little weight if he wants to be around for many more years.

I already said in the previous post why I supported Rush’s comment.

I HOPE HE FAILS.

“He” being the indisputably Marxist President we just elected.

The One who just spent a few trillion dollars as a down payment on socialized medicine, on liberal spending programs that Democrats have been after for a decade and nationalizing the auto and banking industries.

“He” who has promised to “make energy prices skyrocket” with his stiff environmental taxes, and is making good on those promises now, even though people are losing jobs and their life savings.

“He” who squandered political capital during an economic crisis, so he could attack a radio personality instead of solving our country’s problems.

“He” who was too “tired” or drunk to properly receive our strongest ally, someone who’s favor he should cultivate as a NATO ally while we’re at war in Afghanistan but who was instead treated like any of “190 other countries,” in the words of a State Dept official who “reacted with fury.” I know I certainly expect a diplomat to react that way first.

I am embarrassed for my country, and I want this President to fail, if he insists on “remaking” America. I don’t share this vision of his, and I never will.

I BELIEVE IN A FREE AMERICA BEFORE I BELIEVE IN OBAMA.

How much of Obama’s stimulus was targeted, timely or specific? Yet, these trillions he spent officially make our country financially insolvent. We’re in a deflationary cycle. If Obama and the geniuses running our monetary policy, appointed by the President (Geithner, pretty much winging it by himself) don’t suck the money back out with perfect timing, we’ll have inflation. Maybe even hyperinflation, a total currency collapse.

All you can do is tell fat jokes about a radio show host. How would reading the entire article of Frum’s (and I have never agreed with him; I live in Canada and put up with their crap anti-Americanism all the time) elaborate any more on the quote that was already pulled? I don’t WANT to click on Newsweek or read more of Frum — who is not even conservative by Canadian standards — than I have to.

As for Rush, he’s living proof that we can arbitrarily select (at random) a fat, obnoxious, loud-mouthed, red-neck that is perpetually overdosed on pain pills, give him a microphone with a radio broadcast beacon, and within a matter of days, we can make him look like a certified genius — when he is compared alongside any of the scum bags in the Obama administration (including the slave trader in chief).
