Quotes of the Day

Democrats, January 13, 2009:

A spokeswoman for one of the architects of a national health care bill said that any legislation that emerges would be named after Kennedy.

“He wouldn’t name it for himself, but the majority of the body working on the legislation would say he’s devoted his life to it,” said Jude McCartin, a spokeswoman for Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., a member of Kennedy’s committee. “Now that we’re on the verge of doing something major, the naming of the legislation should reflect his longstanding involvement[.]“

Democrats, March 6th, 2009:

On his radio show, Limbaugh said President Barack Obama’s proposed health care revisions will be championed by “the liberal lion Teddy Kennedy.”

“Before it’s all over, it’ll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill,” Limbaugh said.

Brian Wolff, executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, called the remark outrageous and reprehensible.

Jimmy Breslin wrote a book called “The Gang that Couldn’t Shoot Straight” The Democrats 2009 the sequel.

I suppose this will be lost on the trolls here, but never let it be said that I didn’t try. The left set the tone, they wrote the handbook, they perfected the techniques and polished the delivery on the fine art of President bashing. The o attack on Bush set the parameters and the method. They should all be proud of how well we’ve learned and how good we’re getting at it. We’ve also discovered that it’s fun too, though we had to learn this hands on.

Doesn’t feasible health care start with pulling someone out of the car first? How about legislating the No Blond Left Behind act?

So basically the more helpless the person gets in terms of their health, the more bets are off when you talk about them.

Wow. The values party.

radiofreevillage on March 6, 2009 at 11:55 PM

Ah, lessons in morality from the party that orgasmed upon learning that Tony Snow’s cancer had returned. If you want to get a good idea of the “values” of your own party, go back and take a look at some of the many comments at Dim sites exulting in the fact of Snow’s impending demise.

Yeah. They made the rules.

I would like to think i will show the decency to conduct myself in a respectful manner when the inevitable event occurs.Although the sooner the better and with that off my chest now i can be respectful.

heshtesh on March 7, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Why in the world is being honest about the prognosis of two people who have devastating forms of cancer be such a huge deal? There was no disrespect in the utterances. Did anyone notice that at the Emmy’s last year that Tony Snow was left out of the list of those who had passed during the In Memorium clip? Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that a stadium full of adults none could be trusted to behave?

Cindy Munford on March 7, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Yes, let’s name it the “Ted Kennedy” Health “Hope” bill considering that if this was the law of the land right now Ted would have to a) hope he’s not on a long waitiing list to have surgery and treatment or b) hope the surgery and treatment are approved for someone his age because of cost/age, is this cost effective. But of course the Kennedy’s would just be able to leave the country and find someplace to get the medical treatment they want/need.

Lord help me, I hate Democrats more every day!!

As a member of congress, they have their own separate health care system. It will not be reformed.

I know they have their own separate health care system. I’m just pointing out what the system would be like for the unwashed masses that would be forced into this insane system. I lived in Canada for three years and saw National Health Care up close. A co-worker of my husband’s was diagnosed with a turmor on his spine and the doctor told him to head immediately to Seattle for treatment or in Canada he would be on a waiting list at least three months (and this was 13 years ago!).

I would say the same of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

Anyone up for the soon to be annual Chappaquiddick to Edgartown Protest Swim?

No takers?

Okay, how about if we add a “HotAir” Balloon Festival to the annual event’s activities?

I haven’t been a regular listener for a long time, though I still check out the transcripts from time to time. But yeah, I think that’s why he’s hated, and why the attacks on him are of the “he’s a drug-addled fat man” variety. See “Sarah Palin”. Cheap vilification without having to address the issues is a lefty specialty. In fact, the only one, aside from screwing up.

“Before it’s all over, it’ll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill,” Limbaugh said.

I laughed.

I don’t always like Rush’s delivery, but I almost always agree with the msg. You have to respect the man. He is brilliant just ask him.

cajunlady on March 7, 2009 at 5:04 PM

No matter how outrageous Rush is, one word alone can be summoned to his defense in virtual perpetuity:

Truth.

gryphon202 on March 7, 2009 at 11:50 PM

Uh, guys! Doesn’t it sound at least a little bit like Rush was looking forward to Ted Kennedy’s death? Huh? Maybe a little?

deucegeary

What it “sounds like” to you is a result of your projection of your own biases on Rush. He never said, suggested, intimated any such thing. You may wish death upon people; that’s your business. Rush does not. He is a firm adherent to the philosophy that living well is the best revenge.
