Look at your neighborhood. What do you have? Pawn shop? Chinese carry out? Dollar store? Tattoo or nail shop?

Any bets that His Oneness will re-instate the U.S. Embassy in Tehran?

That is one instance where I personally would not blame any U.S. Marine assigned there for deserting.

One day get-a-clue you will come to realize just how wrong you are and you will also come to regret that your dear leader Obambi didn’t have the stones to do what needed to be done when it comes to Iran but instead tried to talk and negotiate with them…mark my words.

Other than the small possibility his own people will remove him somehow, Ahmadinejad will be the cause of a nuclear war. Clinton would serve us best by stabbing him to death at the table.

"Smart Power" update:

Evidently, the Fox story is true about the moronic "reset" button. It's now on Drudge, too.

“We worked hard to get the right Russian word. Do you think we got it?” Clinton asked.

“You got it wrong,” Lavrov said.

Instead of "reset," Lavrov said the word on the box meant “overcharge.”

Clinton and Lavrov laughed.

I can just hear the forced cackling going on and on and on ...

"Smart Power". More to come, no doubt.

I never new conservatives knew this. The way they howled and yelled about how critical it was not to talk to Iran, I just assumed people weren’t aware of the many ways we’ve done exactly that. If people KNOW the axis of evil thing is all propaganda, why do they buy into it?

DeathToMediaHacks on March 6, 2009 at 11:59 AM

This was all to your incredibly naive statement that conservatives did not know about "discussions".
You never knew the one organization, that for over 100 years, has been at the forefront of negotiations, and as stated was the older religious lobbying company.
A church, who has been involved in most every major negotiations, and even has an office at the U.N. Whom calls on them often.
The church, surprisingly, Nixon belonged to...the Quakers.

So my little liberal friend, the most basic information is now imparted to you...I am shocked that a liberal didn't know that (the oldest pacifist organization in America), actually I'm not, you have so seldom been correct in your statements or analysis...and this is just another one in a long list of...DUHHHH's

Oh and one more thing that nobody has paid attention to, remember Moammar Qaddafi? Remember what he did when he saw that Bush meant business? No? He scrapped his whole nuclear program and allowed inspectors to go in and make sure they were doing it.

I need to add, which finally exposed the true depth of AQ Khan's nuclear black market, which means that, in the end, the Iraq War turned up much more WMD than anyone ever imagined (and more important WMD, since this was the international market of nukes) but it came via Libya, though due only to the fact that we went into Iraq and scared the living sh!t out the middle east for a little while. That's how things get done.

Deathtomediahacks, you are ignorant; please stop it or better yet, keep it going it makes me see exactly why liberals are such fools. Here is another one for you: you know that plan for withdrawing our troops from Iraq that your beloved one just "came up with"? That was signed by the BUSH ADMINISTRATION yet did you hear that? nope, and I bet you did not know that and you are going to dispute the fact. Do you know why his own party is so dissatisfied with it? Yes, because it is "strangely" similar to what Bush proposed to and signed with the democratically elected government of Iraq. Oh and one more thing that nobody has paid attention to, remember Moammar Qaddafi? Remember what he did when he saw that Bush meant business? No? He scrapped his whole nuclear program and allowed inspectors to go in and make sure they were doing it. Why did that happened? Oh yes, because they knew that Ogabe would win and they wanted to be in his good side, right? Oh and Lebanon is free of Syria, and they have elections there and 50 million people are free, c'mon, you liberal moron you, aren't you for women's rights? how about liberating the women of Afghanistan? You just won't admit it.

One more thing, are you going to start with Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as the first media hacks to get the death penalty? That I would pay to see.

Now to your oh so important point. I get that there is a difference between low-level talks and Presidential talks. But that’s NOT how the GOP has framed the political discourse about the role of diplomacy in our foreign relations. Bush campaigned on a purely muscular foreign policy: These countries are evil and you don’t talk with evil.

You are aware that we've had those idiotic 6-party talks with North Korea going on for about the whole of Bush's two terms? You are aware that we had talks with Iran over things happening in Iraq? None of this was secret information, even though these talks did as much good as any talks with the insane do. How do you form your views if you don't know these very basic pieces of public knowledge and can't connect them to anything?

There was no subtlety, no nuance, no “well we actually talk to them about these things, because it makes pragmatic sense to.” And he could NEVER make such a claim because it would undermine his political strategy of being “tough on people who hate us.”

He wasn't nearly tough enough.

I would suspect the vast majority of people who voted for Bush in 2004 had no clue about the various ways we had diplomatic relationships with Iran and who treated the NYT stories on the matter as “liberal bias” attempting to smear the President.

No. It's just you, really.

I feel as though I am the cameraman in one of Zeigler's videos.

My argument isn’t that our diplomatic aren’t pragmatic, and thankfully they are going to be more so now. It’s that the President was disingenuous for purely political reasons.

DeathToMediaHacks on March 6, 2009 at 1:30 PM

You cannot blame your ignorance on anyone else. But, now we have people who know about as much as you actually running foreign policy. Oh boy, this is going to be ugly. Thanks.

You are aware that we had talks with Iran over things happening in Iraq? None of this was secret information, even though these talks did as much good as any talks with the insane do. How do you form your views if you don’t know these very basic pieces of public knowledge and can’t connect them to anything?

There was no subtlety, no nuance, no “well we actually talk to them about these things, because it makes pragmatic sense to.” And he could NEVER make such a claim because it would undermine his political strategy of being “tough on people who hate us.”

He wasn’t nearly tough enough.

I would suspect the vast majority of people who voted for Bush in 2004 had no clue about the various ways we had diplomatic relationships with Iran and who treated the NYT stories on the matter as “liberal bias” attempting to smear the President.

No. It’s just you, really.

I feel as though I am the cameraman in one of Zeigler’s videos.

Thanks.

I knew you could answer if you spent 20 minutes Googling…but you should know the answer right off the top of your head.
You are such an expert as to what us conservative know.

Are you serious? I can see you now, hunkered over the laptop screen, posting your comment and then lunging for the timer to start the clock and clicking the mouse on your Jeapordy music MP3. Here's a clue, take a step away from the computer, breath in and chill.

More "Smart Power" seen (from Drudge's link):

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Hillary Clinton raised eyebrows on her first visit to Europe as secretary of state when she mispronounced her EU counterparts' names and claimed U.S. democracy was older than Europe's.

She meant that we were the first (and still only ones) to get the structure of government correct, but she was just trying to be diplomatic.

It's a tsunami of smarts.

"Smart Power" has finally been spotted:

Fox News reported that Shrillary gave Lavrov some button with the word "reset" written in English and Russian. As if such a moronic gift weren't enough, Fox claims that someone made a mistake with the Russian and wrote "overcharged", instead.

That's what I heard. This "Smart Power" thing is pretty nifty.

All the warmongering really paid off.

Not.

getalife on March 6, 2009 at 12:32 PM

I know I shouldn't feed the trolls but I can't help it when it comes to my favorite HA troll get-a-clue. This is long I know, but I just had to get it out and hopefully it will enable getalife to get-a-clue, but I doubt it as he/she is obviously drunk on the kool-aid and there is no hope for him/her.

Well, well, what a surprise, get-a-clue troll extraordinaire has popped his head out of his hole. First of all I fail to see where the US has had a "war monger" attitude toward Iran, some saber rattling yes, but again I fail to see how the US responses to Iran over the years can be construed as "war mongering."

In fact if anything I'd say the US has been much too restrained when it comes to responding to Iran's belligerence, especially after they stormed our embassy in 1979 and held Americans hostage, you do remember that don't you get-a-clue? In case you are not aware an embassy in a foreign nation is considered by international law as a sovereign nation within the host nation and what the Iranian's did in 1979 was an act of war that should have been firmly responded to militarily, but then again we had the pacifist, appeasing, terrorist apologist peanut picking Carter as POTUS at the time so it's no wonder the only thing Carter was able to do was launch an ill conceived "rescue mission" that only managed to make the US look weak and embolden Iran to become what it has become over the last 30 years, an axis of evil hell bent on destroying the West, especially Israel and the US!

Also, I love how lefty trolls like you throw out the "war-monger" label whenever it comes to those of us on the right or anyone that would even consider it prudent to protect ourselves using military force when it's obvious diplomacy and talks will not work as they have never worked when dealing with the mad-mullahs of Iran, in fact I challenge you to come up with one example of how any negotiations over the last 30 years with Iran and/or other similar regimes has honestly worked.

No one in their right mind wants war get-a-clue, so for you and the left to constantly throw the "war-monger" label at us is not only tiresome but it's totally dishonest!

I believe most people in the world would like to see all conflicts solved through talks and negotiation, however I also believe many people (like you) have forgotten the basic rules when it comes to negotiations, and one of the most important rules in negotiations is being able to find some middle ground that both sides can agree on, however when one side has an absolute fixed agenda that they are unwilling to concede (like Iran's desire to wipe Israel off the map and "death to America" as they chant after every Friday prayers) well then talks and negotiations become a moot point and the only thing negotiations accomplish is providing Iran more time to do things like, oh, say, develop a nuclear weapon and build its military arsenal.

n fact Iran loves it when the EU and/or the US (through back door diplomacy) tries to negotiate, they brag about how stupid we are laughing behind our backs at how weak we are and what suckers we are to negotiate with them when all it is accomplishing is giving them (the Iranians) time to get close to accomplishing their previously stated goals!

So call us "war-mongers" all you like, but at least we are intelligent enough to know when talking and negotiating with Iran won't work any better than talking and negotiating with the cyborg from the terminator movie!

Here's a pop culture reference that may help you wrap you're scared little head around what I'm attempting to get across to you, as John said to Sarah; you don't understand, the terminator cannot be reasoned with, it cannot be bargained with, and it won't stop until you're dead!" and in our situation Iran and its mad-mullahs are the terminator, they cannot be bargained or reasoned with and will not stop until we (the infidels, that includes you too get-a-clue) are all dead.

Just like in the song "Coward of the County" sometimes you gotta fight when you're a man, and our nation in order to protect its way of life and freedoms must also fight when we are left with no choice but to do so, and Iran over the last 30 years and up to this day is leaving us with no choice as long as they continue to cling to their current ideology and path, so no matter how dark you tint those rose colored glasses of yours or how deep you bury your scared little head into the sand all the negotiating and talking in the world is not going to get Iran to turn away from its sick and twisted fascist death cult religion nor its ultimate goal of destroying the US!

One day get-a-clue you will come to realize just how wrong you are and you will also come to regret that your dear leader Obambi didn't have the stones to do what needed to be done when it comes to Iran but instead tried to talk and negotiate with them...mark my words.
