A few months back, I heard Mitt Romney say if card check passes, the unions will go to small businesses with as little as 3 employees.

The added expense will kill small business. Kill jobs.

Mr Kline is my rep. too and I am very glad to have him. I think Kline and Bachmann are the only “conservatives” MN has in D.C. Unions have outlived their usefulness. They are nothing but self agrandizing pompass jerks. No wonder they get along with the Washington elite.
There is a very large,well known, company in my town that is non-union, people around here flock to their doors every time they open to hiring. People who retire from there are set for life, all WITHOUT a union.
If we lose the right to a secret ballot we might as well say goodby to everything that makes us who we are.
Dear God, please make BO fail and fail BIG.

12 Presidents have served a single elected term – John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Martin Van Buren, James K Polk, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Rutherford B Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, Jimmy Carter and George HW Bush.

4 Presidents – Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry S Truman and Lyndon B Johnson – have succeeded to the Presidency through death, and then gone on to serve a single elected term of their own.

3 Presidents were elected to second terms but failed to complete them. – Abraham Lincoln and William McKinley served only a few weeks or months of their second terms before being assassinated, and Richard M Nixon, resigned 19 months into his second term.

5 Presidents – William H Harrison, Zachary Taylor, James A. Garfield, Warren G Harding, and John F. Kennedy – died during their first terms and so had no opportunity to seek a second.

5 Presidents – John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, and Gerald Ford – succeeded from the Vice-Presidency but did not win elected terms of their own.

Most of their VPs (John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, and Chester A. Arthur, specifically) didn’t stand a chance of getting elected after serving out their predecessor’s term.

That also doesn’t include people like James K. Polk and Rutherford B. Hayes who chose not to seek a second term. (Polk’s case was truly by choice, while Hayes chose not to due to the nature of the 1876 disputed election that put him in the White House.)

How would Card Check affect right-to-work states? — It would override any state protections.

And there you have the two basic thrusts of the legislation. Override state laws, and force unionization of auto plants in the south.

I hate to say this folks, Americans generously give our Presidents two terms. Only 8 of 43 Presidents have served a single elected term and then were voted out of office.
