Oh Baxter, just let them persist that their herculean efforts to defeat John McCain in November were acts of bravery and patriotism instead of pathetic acts of selfishness and idiocy.

You “true conservatives” sure did show that old Senator McCain a thing or two, huh? Y’all kinda forgot that it’s gonna be you and your loved ones who suffer the consequences under the glorious Obama administration, not McCain.

On the other hand, my preferred solution to this pig odor would be everyone stopping eating pork, but I’m a Jew who deplores the horrible treatment of pigs in the pork factories.

I’m with you. The technology is great, but part of my frustration is that consideration for others has fallen by the wayside. Aside from the smug, “I know something you don’t know” attitude of some when a new technology emerges, I’m frustrated at those who do not understand that there is a time and place for everything.

What is so important that a person needs to block the grocery aisle to text? Must folks yap loudly on their cell phones in Walmart? Why do you need to take pictures in Target (and please leave me out of the picture)? What kind of technology is so important that you must fiddle with it on I95 at 75mph?

It is not the technology but the users, or as Daft might say, an ID – ten – T issue.

Yet McCain famously ignored a Bush SOTU address by staring at his blackberry all night.

There are some (at least) that are reading the tweet replies. I’ve had Senator’s that ‘follow me’. I’ve been able to ask questions and they have answered them. Some are using Twitter to ask questions. It’s possible (or maybe likely) that their staff it answering but it’s a great source of communication.

The democrats are ahead of us in using the internet as a way of organizing and communicating. I love it that Tom Coburn links to bills and polls or that he’s been shutout of discussions. I’m from middle-America and when a senator sent a ‘tweet’ that we would all pay $ 675 million or billion for higher energy costs, it caught my attention.

$ 650 – $ 1400 per family annual increase in taxes due to cap and trade has caught my attention. I read so many CPAC and Tea Party tweets last week that I would like help organize a local tea party.

If I receive a tweet that Acorn organizers are having a rally in my area then I will be there. Ohio is important and the more tools we have the better.

If I can tap some politician on the shoulder and ask them what they’re doing with my money then Twitter is a tool Thomas Jefferson would have loved.
