The Obama Report Card: What’s your grade?
posted at 2:40 pm on March 4, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Michael Kraskin of AOL’s Political Machine has a handy way to express your approval or disapproval of Barack Obama after six weeks on the job. Give Obama an overall grade as well as assessments on individual subjects, such as National Security and Health Care:
I’m not sure whether they will break out results by state like they do with the Hot Seat polls, or by blog sites, which might be more fun. It’s a new widget that will certainly get a lot of attention, especially if Obama keeps flirting with flunking out.

National Security gets a C, due to all the Bush actions he’s retaining tainted by his being ready to give up the missile shield against Russia.
Everything else, F. Is there something lower I could give him for the economy?
MadisonConservative on March 4, 2009 at 2:43 PM
It’s the lowest on campus. It’s the lowest in Faber history!
Cicero43 on March 4, 2009 at 2:44 PM
I failed him on healthcare and economy. I gave him a D on the other two; I figured partial credit for quieting his crazies down, at least, and fake-shutting Gitmo, etc. We’ll see how he does next quarter.

The stock market is the best measure of the economy, the people’s mood, and the president’s scorecard. The stock market represents the confidence of people who have a vested interest in the country!

F across the board- and that is giving the filthy liar the benefit of being in office for only a few weeks.
No vision, massive spending, a corrupt cabinet and advisors, no hope, no change…..
There is nothing to recommend the filthy liar. Nothing about his performance that is positive.

Epic Fail on the economy.
msmveritas on March 4, 2009 at 2:47 PM
Economy: F (only because a Z minus isn’t available)
National Security: C (no quick retreat in Iraq, increase in troops in Afghanistan, suddenly finding things to like in Bush’s WoT strategy, but trading missile defense is a big no no)
Healthcare: D (that high only because he hasn’t proposed universal nazional healthcare yet)
Environment: C (with the proposed carbon tax & destruction of our economy, we’ll be driving & manufacturing less, thus polluting less)
Overall, I give him Peppermint Patty’s grade of D minus. Bring back the “Fairness” Doctrine & “Assault” Weapons Ban and it’ll be an F.

Comments:
Ms Dunham,
Barry has had a very poor start this semester. His only real chance at a superior grade in any class was PhysEd, but after Coach Hancock caught him smoking again, that really brought his grade in that class down. We know his history essays are very interesting and amusing but as we advised at the end last semester, he seems to be making most of it up.
We would also like you to come by the office to discuss a concern we have that Barry may be experimenting with cocaine.

Odie1941 on March 4, 2009 at 2:55 PM
F across the board except for environment….he gets a ‘D’ for that. It does need cleaning up, we just don’t need to be communists to accomplish that. Cap and trade is just another socialist scam that has NOT worked in Europe. It just makes money for some off others that pollute more, but the costs all get passed to the consumer that can do nothing about the pollution generated except sit in the damned dark while the gov’t refuses to permit clean methods of power generation.
Ridiculous. We are not Europe. Can we just send sock puppet over THERE to live and elect a REAL American for president?

I was sadly disappointed in this poll being insensitive to our new President. He deserves an E, an extension, to get a second chance to do it over.

In light of the recent study about college students, those in the Obama administration will demand Bs merely for showing up.
Then, again, given that were in the age of O, are grades and the possibility of failure even available?
The harshest option we may be given is that “Barry needs to improve in these areas in order to have a positive performance outcome.”

WC on March 4, 2009 at 2:59 PM
I disagree with the C in national security. Granted your assessment is correct about the carry over from Bush’s administration, but based upon the changes Obama wants to make it is definitely an F.
The grade in foreign relations is missing. But, the epic failure of asking RUSSIA for help with Iran is a mind blowing F.
Russia!?!?
I wonder how Obama feels now, since he finally knows what its like to be flipped off on the international stage. What a moron. Putin will be laughing at that one for a long time.

The British dumped counterfeit colonial script into the US economy durring the revolution. The goal was to sabatage our economy. They succeeded in creating inflation in excess of 130%.
It was an act of war.
Congress and Obama just did the same thing and called it a stimulus bill.

In 2008, Americans went President shopping. Now, you have to be careful when you go President shopping–you have to kick the tires and make sure the engine sounds right and that there’s nothing leaking–and even then, there’s no guarantee that you’re not going to end up with a lemon. But the 2008 model year was a very poor one–even though, like all presidential elections, it was a two for one deal–you get a backup vice-president in case something happens to the president you just bought (voted for). Republican Motors had an older model, the McCain, that was often cranky and had a tendency to be hard to steer; although, the vice-presidential model, the Palin, was a sporty roadster that has a lot of potential–even though it still has some tuning issues that need to be addressed. Democrat Motors had a smooth looking and smooth talking model–at least it was smooth talking on a well paved road–although its ride gets much rougher off the pavement. The Obama also looks much better on the outside than on the inside, although even the most cursory of inspections soon revealed its many defects and deficiencies. As for the Biden–well, besides its top being in bad need of repair, its engine has a bad tendency to misfire. Getting back to the Obama, the people most responsible for informing the consumer about the car and its potential defects did not do their job, leaving it up to the individual consumer to consult others who attempted to pick up the slack. Unfortunately, too many Americans fell in love with the Obama’s sleek paint job and chrome bumpers and bought (voted for) it and as those of us who did do a careful inspection expected, the Obama is pouring black smoke out of the exhaust (engaging in smear and obfuscation campaigns), guzzling the country’s fuel (the economy), and deliberately dismantling much of the country’s safety systems (defense budget, etc.)
This consumer gives the Obama the same grade I gave the Chevy Vega–an F.
