WSJ poll: Obama approval rating at 60%, handling of economy at 56%

If the MSM did it’s job,I bet those poll numbers would not be the same.
Apparently Rush is more important than the promises and policies of Obama.

Give the L.A. Times some credit. They have a story up titled Missing from Congress’ stimulus negotiations: transparency:
Upending Washington’s entrenched ways of doing business is proving tougher than President Obama may have assumed.
The nearly $800-billion stimulus bill served as a test case.
During the campaign, Obama released a position paper stating his commitment to open government. As president, he said, he would not only insist on transparency in his own administration, he would press Congress to revamp its practices as well.

Obama has no constitutional authority to set rules for Congress, but he suggested he would use his influence to see to it that Congress doesn’t conduct its work “in the dead of night and behind closed doors.”

In the first major piece of legislation pushed by Obama, transparency was missing.

End the Practice of Writing Legislation Behind Closed Doors: As president, Barack Obama will restore the American people’s trust in their government by making government more open and transparent. Too bad the American media hasn’t kept as close an eye on Barack Obama and his promises to clean up government as the Times of India has. Noting that Obama has already issues 17 exceptions to his no-lobbyist rules in the first two weeks of his inauguration, they wonder how it could worse:

Barack Obama has a remarkable ability to utter howlers with a straight face, but this one from today’s radio address, talking about his proposed budget, stretched even his flexible standards of truth:

These steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business. I know they’re gearing up for a fight as we speak. My message to them is this: So am I.

As Obama well knows, lobbyists all over Washington are lighting cigars with $50 bills at the prospect of having $3.7 trillion worth of spoils to divvy up. Obama must think the American people–his supporters, anyway–are complete idiots.

Elected representatives on Capitol Hill complain that they have not yet received the final Porkulus write-up, but that’s because Democratic leadership on the Hill had more important people to consult. US News reports that the Democrats sent the bill to K Street lobbying firms before getting it to the people who need to vote on Porkulus:

No more business as usual in Washington.
Yea,that’s believable if you are one of the Washington Press core that can’t get off it’s knees or one of Obama’s apologist followers who excuse every broken promise and lie this guy tells.

I’m thinking of that Rahm Emanuel line :
