Video: Cramer goes nuclear on Obama, White House rips Cramer

I think he’s worked up here but I can’t tell for sure: Much like Glenn Beck, because his default state is one of unnerving intensity, it’s hard to tell when he feels passionately about something from when he’s behaving normally. But here he is on last night’s show, teetering between Hayekian wisdom and madness in laying blame for the Dow’s downturn at the feet of Zeus’s Olympian throne. These aren’t the comments that caused Gibbs to take a shot at him at today’s White House presser, incidentally; those came on the Today show this morning, but were really just a precis of his longer argument here. Follow the link to TV Newser for the vid and Gibbs’s reaction (which, in fairness, isn’t inaccurate). Exit quotation from Cramer: “This is the greatest wealth destruction I’ve seen by a president.”

Poor Benny and as usual he can’t answer because he has nothing to offer. He is upset that one member of the MSM dared to be critical of his lord. I wished Benny could see that even his leader has faults. His only retort would be that it was W’s fault. Really the BO’s of this world don’t seem to realize that communisim doesn’t work. They can see what it did in the USSR, Cuba, North Korea and yet they can think they can make it work here.

I would strongly advise you guys to not view Rove with a positive light.
All jokes aside if you defend Karl Rove and what HE DID, you guys will forever become a fringe party.

You’ll be saying the same thing about Rahm Emanuel in a few years.

You’d “strongly advise”, eh? What are you going to do if we don’t take your advice? What are you, Rahm Emanuel’s blogwhore or what? Twat.

This thread isn’t about Howard Dean, Benny.
jimmy2shoes on March 3, 2009 at 10:44 PM
Benedict Arnold was historic, too.
jimmy2shoes on March 3, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Rick Santelli got there first Cramer, but kudos for jumping in.
Now start a Tea Party.
Kini on March 3, 2009 at 11:06 PM
So what did Rove do that was so egregious and worthy of our eternal scorn? I have heard many accusations thrown around about what he allegedly did, but the Bill of Rights clearly states that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Should we ignore this clause since we are dealing with a political figure? A political figure you find to be especially onerous? Please give examples that point specifically how he behaved and what the evidence is to back your claim up. I am a history professor by trade and I demand my students to back up every single argument with at least one primary source. If you notice all of my replies on this board have followed that format. Can we say the same for you?
txaggie on March 3, 2009 at 11:09 PM
Why is anybody surprised that Obama wants to crash the market. We are going into a period where many Americans will be retiring. If he can destroy their annuities and make them dependent on the government to survive in retirement then they own the country for many years.
Do any of you really think that the Democrats are below creating massive misery to gain power? I know they would in a heartbeat.
Hawthorne on March 3, 2009 at 11:25 PM
This is the best you clowns can do? No refutation of anything he was saying, just “Cramer is an idiot, blah blah blah”
Meanwhile the stock market drops and drops and all the White House does is blather on about Santelli, Cramer, Limbaugh, ad infinitum. Who will be the subject of the “10 minute hate” tomorrow?
Pathetic. 47 years, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s unbelievable.
How is the clown prince Obama supposed to handle Putin, Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden, Kim jong Il etc, when he can’t even handle Santelli, Cramer and Limbaugh? (The new Axis of Evil”, evidently).
Just got done working on researching and programming millions of Federal dollars of “stimulus” (ha, ha) money for transportation projects. Pork galore, and will do nothing to improve the economy by increasing transportation efficiency, or creating any appreciable numbers of jobs.
Nothing, nada. Just a “grab a piece of the pie” process that is being repeated all over the country.
And this is the infrastructure portion of this trillion dollar boondoggle, the portion that is supposed to be the “real stimulus”. Even the supporters (when they are feeling honest) admit the rest of it has nothing to do with the economy, and has everything to do with cynically using a crisis to pursue an unrelated agenda.
You will love cap and trade. Watch the price of electricity skyrocket. Just the thing when money is tight…let’s have homeowners spend a couple hundred dollars more on electricity each month. Good idea, that.
The amazing thing to me is that the stock market hasn’t tanked even more than it has so far.
But give it time.
I did like the line about “Obama resistant stocks”. that was a good one. Not sure such a thing exists, though.
Dreadnought on March 3, 2009 at 11:25 PM
I wouldn’t call it psychic. More like this: he can see a trend, and that, to me, is simply reading the writing on the subway wall. He’s pretty good at that mind you. He’ll often pull up an insight that few thought possible and no one else saw. He’d make one heck of a market watcher if he knew more about financial stuff.
I have my eye on a gun (if it comes to that, though as a college student I can’t fare better than just hoping for one) and a prayer on my lips. I’m going to a tea party this weekend, and talking to everyone about the dangers of this type of government.
I’ll gladly join you in the trenches!
As for getalife… well, that was just a moment of anger, but it had to be said.
Chaz706 on March 3, 2009 at 11:30 PM
He hurt the Democrats, of course! Waaaaaaa!
ddrintn on March 3, 2009 at 11:35 PM
To many in this country, those who don’t participate in their 401k, or have 529s or have IRAs or RothIRAs… the people that spend their money faster than they earn it, the stock market is nothing to them. These people are also the same people that don’t pay any taxes and get a significant boost to their income from the Gov’t through its various programs and services. Why do they care about the “stock market” only rich people invest there.
We are so screwed as a nation.

He Swiftboated Kerry!! Waaaaaa! (Whenever the Democrats lose, it’s because of the unspeakable evil of people like Lee Atwater and Karl Rove. You know the drill.)
ddrintn on March 3, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Well said, it’s too bad the people it was meant for will either ignore it, don’t care or really are just paid minimum wage campaign sheeple…

Thanks. Unfortunately, you are probably right.

Cramer partly owns thestreet.com (i think). He does a few interviews for them. He is completely different during those interviews. Usually 100x more calm, boring in fact.
Chubbs65 on March 4, 2009 at 12:20 AM
Ckoeber
What exactly did Karl Rove do? What unforgivable sin did he commit? He got behind a guy he believed in and he won. That’s good politics. The left wing claims of unfair practices are hypocritical window dressing, which isn’t a good thing to vindicate.
The Democrats mocked John McCain for not being to lift his arms because of injuries he sustained in the process of his heroic service. They essentially mocked him for being a hero, so I’ve got no patience for the liberal media’s idea that conservatives that win campaigns are somehow evil for doing so. Lee Atwater and Karl Rove did damn good work and I won’t disparage them for it.
galenrox on March 4, 2009 at 12:33 AM
OT – Am reading Anderson Cooper’s 360 blog for the first time ever and the Live Blog from The Anchor Desk has the most amazing comments re. the stock market and the economy. LMAO and sad at the same time.
marge on March 4, 2009 at 12:46 AM
Never take political advice from your enemies.
All jokes aside, what did Karl Rove do? One thing. In English. Specifically.
Liberals kid themselves that anyone outside of their 25% both knows and cares about the name “Karl Rove.” The only other people who have an opinion on Karl Rove are conservatives, and our opinion is uproarious laughter every time his name is brought up.
HitNRun on March 4, 2009 at 12:53 AM
Not years … weeks to come.
Benjamin9 on March 4, 2009 at 12:54 AM
Karl Rove is more positive than Bush bashing Libs will ever
dream of being…
We need more folks like Rove…
dec5 on March 4, 2009 at 1:03 AM
John Kerry’s worst enemy was John Kerry. Karl Rove merely helped highlight Kerry’s empty arrogance.
The difference between Obambi’s economic policies and the wino under the overpass is the wino under the overpass has sufficiently superior wisdom to stick to the bottle instead of meddling with things of which he has no understanding or experience. The wino also has no need for James Carville, George Stephanopoulos, and Brian Williams to hold his hand and repackage his errors when the breadth and depth of his ignorance becomes plain for all to see of those willing to see it.
viking01 on March 4, 2009 at 1:17 AM
The same Cramer who just six months ago was screaming for bailout money for his Wall Street and banker buddies? heh.
Rove gave us Bush. You all like Bush? You still have “W” stickers on your cars?
popularpeoplesfront on March 4, 2009 at 1:41 AM
Bush in September is certainly better than Obambi in February.
viking01 on March 4, 2009 at 1:51 AM
Well, Paulson lied to all of us, including the President.
We shouldn’t have believed him, the former Goldman Sachs chair who’s personally worth $600 million.
Rove didn’t “give us” Bush. We gave Bush to ourselves by election.
I love President Bush.
Is the “W” sticker on my car? You betcha, right next to the “Don’t blame me. I voted for Palin” bumper sticker.
Jenfidel on March 4, 2009 at 1:59 AM
Obama is just giving us the benefit of his years of experience. Once you realize the totality of his experience is running for office, it makes sense that he would compare everything to it.

Dr. Dean makes his point with 365-173 landslide electoral college victories.

I predict that in four years a large number of voters will be looking back at the Bush era with some wistfulness.
Buyers remorse is already setting in, I just laugh and laugh.

Bush/MSM gave us Obama.

FIFY.
You’re welcome.
Jenfidel on March 4, 2009 at 6:46 AM
It wasn’t a landslide and Dr. Dean had zip to do with it.
He wanted to be Zerobama’s HHS Secretary, let everyone know it and was shown the door.
Jenfidel on March 4, 2009 at 6:49 AM
Ah, the remorse and regret of an Obama voter.
That “superior intellect” isn’t looking so “superior” now, is it, Jimmy?
But hey, it felt good to vote for America’s first black president, right? It proved how righteous and progressive you are. Obama was the young, cool, computer-savvy candidate with the slick marketing campaign; he was the one all your friends were voting for.
Who cared about Obama’s Communist parents, or his teenage Communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis, or his adult friendships with Communist/terrorist types like William Ayers, or his decades-long relationship with his racist, anti-American preacher Jeremiah Wright, or his decades-long membership in a hate-filled, bigoted, BLT church? That kind of stuff only mattered to mouth-breathing Palin supporters, right?
Obama would never try to implement Socialist policies in the U.S., right? He’s secretly a pragmatist, a moderate, a guy whose far-left liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate and Illinois state legislature was completely meaningless and provided no clue as to how he would actually govern as president, right Jimmy?
How could you possibly have known??!!

Its idiots like Kramer and his thieving brothers on Wall Street who got us in this mess, but now were supposed to take their advice? Those ole boys made their millions on the backs of working stiffs like me. So Kramer, you and Cantelli can take your hogwash and shove it somewhere. Your just a common crook.

keep selling the class warfare schtick mate, that giant sucking sound you’re hearing from NYC and Bambi’s own Chi-Town is a bunch of pension funds imploding….
the “fat cat” lives on main street as well as mansions comrade….
sven10077 on March 4, 2009 at 7:31 AM
Say what you will about Beck, but it’s undeniable he called all this. He’s the only talk show host that’s been warning about what’s to come for over 2 years now, it’s amazing to see it come to pass.
True_King on March 4, 2009 at 7:31 AM
I like Beck but a lot of people have seen the writing on the wall since ‘98….
I knew when Bush failed to get Fan and Fred under control and maintained the PPP from Billy Jeff’s days that when the pie tins quit spinning we were screwed at best(ie a GOP administration and Congress who would arbogate bad enviro law and get energy cheap and Americans back to work through reductions in capital gains and targeted credits) and dead at worst(looking oddly a lot like what I am seeing now though in fairness I think nobody wargamed Chicago Jesus at the helm then)….
Bush didn’t get Fan and Fred done, didn’t get SS reorganization done, and refused to defend his Presidency so in a sense yes Bambi is his gift to the GOP.
sven10077 on March 4, 2009 at 7:36 AM
Careful Cramer. Your white and your opinionated. We can’t have that.

expect an upsurge in the MOBY ranks in about seven months when Starbucks and Joe Muggs start laying people off to cope with there being less liquid income in play at book stores.
sven10077 on March 4, 2009 at 9:25 AM
Here’s the reason Obama is so nonchalant about the stock market: at least through the end of 2007, he and his wife own no stock. Zero dividend income on his 2007 return. At the same time, he had $45,851.
This guy is concerned only with the royalties from his past two books and the POS books he’ll write in the future.
Simply put, the overriding majority of people in this country have a far greater stake in the economy of this country than Obama.
BuckeyeSam on March 4, 2009 at 9:31 AM

Isn’t Karl Rove that super-ethical, thin-skinned, SOB that picks fights with radio personalities that disagree with his view and sends dead fish to people that he doesn’t agree with?
Oh wait….
leetpriest on March 4, 2009 at 10:33 AM
Axlerod, Carville, Begalla, Gibbs, Emanuel, yeah, tell us all about how Karl Rove is Dr Evil because he leaked a name that had already been leaked. THEN tell us about Diane Feinstein leaking that the US has an airbase inside Pakistan and is flying drones to kill Pakistanis from that base.
Gimme a break.
True Democrats would be opposing Obama
scottm on March 4, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Lets start a tax payers union. We can accept anyone who pays taxes and then we will strike until Obama backs out every “stimulus” package so far. And takes everything off the table, ends all of the bailouts, lowers taxes for everyone who pays them, and makes massive cutbacks in welfare. How long can the govt survive if everyone stopped working?
jeffn21 on March 4, 2009 at 10:38 AM
Michael Savage mentioned something about “trickle up poverty” with the current Admin.
Seems accurate.

That is a miracle.
IlikedAUH2O on March 4, 2009 at 10:50 AM
“Profit and earning ratios?” What are those, Obama? Most of us who own stock are familiar with price/earnings ratios — is that what you meant? Please tell me that you’re not as utterly clueless as you sound. No wonder the market has been tanking since you took office.
Can you imagine the MSM reaction if Sarah Palin had made a comment like Obama’s? It would have been headline stuff — yet more proof of her enormous ignorance and unfitness for office. But when the “brilliant” Obama exposes his lack of knowledge about a vital subject, the MSM ignores it.
AZCoyote on March 4, 2009 at 11:38 AM
They want to destroy the entire market-based economy.
In 2 years there could be no stock market.
Your 401K could be worth 0.
notagool on March 4, 2009 at 11:52 AM
Great clip…but we could have done without this:
“I think he’s worked up here but I can’t tell for sure:
Much like Glenn Beck, because his default state is one of unnerving intensity, it’s hard to tell when he feels passionately about something from when he’s behaving normally. But here he is on last night’s show, teetering between Hayekian wisdom and madness in laying blame for the Dow’s downturn at the feet of Zeus’s Olympian throne.”
Cramer learned his lesson a bit when he went off on what’s his name maybe a year ago? I saw no madness in Cramer here, but it depends on who watches it and comments on it.
I’ll skip the commentary from now on…if I come back.
Christine on March 4, 2009 at 12:26 PM
I would strongly advice you not to tell me what to say or think. I consider Political correctness a type of though control not unlike that used in nazi germany or stalinist russia.
sonofdy on March 4, 2009 at 1:03 PM
The White House, taking cues from Obama, is making the child’s mistake of identifying their enemies by name and then shooting directly at individuals
Good for the other side. The President is too powerful and represents all. He can beat up a Congressman or Senator by name and not scare most citizens except the ones who elected the one named. Even that is stupid because every vote counts
That is why even half witted Presidents take out Congressmen and Senators in the back room with a knife
But the Obama Presidency is making aname for itself by lining up citizens against the wall before they are convicted in a court of law, and saying stupid things like ‘do not listen to this man’
Clinton made the mistake naming Rush but he never told anyone not to listen to Rush. Even so, it did not help him except with the faithful. It weakened his image
Stay tuned for more childs play from the White House.
The GOP need do nothing for this gift. just let the doubts fester among the populace about the character of this Presidency. What the personal attacks on non convicted private citizens does accomplish is sow a seed of fear and distrust. Good for the GOP. Sad for the country and its promise.
