Brand Obama: New government stamp for stimulus projects coincidentally looks like “O”

I’m being cynical in thinking The One would stoop to something so vulgar as a permanent campaign, aren’t I? Oh dear.
In remarks at the Department of Transportation this morning, Mr. Obama referenced the new emblems.
“We’re also making it easier for Americans to see what projects are being funded with their money as part of our recovery. So in the weeks to come, the signs denoting these projects are going to bear the new emblem of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” Obama said. “These emblems are symbols of our commitment to you, the American people — a commitment to investing your tax dollars wisely, to put Americans to work doing the work that needs to be done. So when you see them on projects that your tax dollars made possible, let it be a reminder that our government — your government — is doing its part to put the economy back on the road of recovery.”
This is sort of like Bush launching a new government employment program and labeling it the WPA. Verdict: Cooler than the Obama seal, not as cool as the official Obama-cult secret handshake, which really should have been incorporated into the design. And with that, I yield the floor to the many photoshoppers who are reading this and just rarin’ to go. If we get any good ones, I’ll update.

This reminds me of something I heard Beck talking about on the radio sunday. He mentioned how he thought the Blue Eagle was patriotic. But in a lot of ways it was the symbol of government control. It showed that the store was following FDR’s draconian pricing rules. Some business owners went to JAIL for setting their own prices – even if those prices were lower.

Read Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism. Aside from the similarities to the National Recovery Act of the 30s, this is but a first step.
The next will be Joe Biden bullying people into only accepting/supporting projects that have the ARRA label. If a private organization builds an office building or a shopping center and it doesn’t have the all-important ARRA label, well then boycott the unpatriotic SOB.
