Jindal is smarter than the guy who criticized “volcano monitoring&” as an example of wasteful spending in the stimulus bill, prompting the same cringe reflex that Sarah Palin did when she targeted silly ol’ spending — in France, no less — on fruit fly research that is, in fact, crucial to medical research.

Pity Palin was referring to olive fruit fly research commissioned by a Democrat Californian senator in the pockets of other Californian Democrats with boutique farms and vineyards who couldn’t give a toss about medical research. Pity the olive fruit fly esearch used federal monies on the pretense of assisting the tiniest of tiny boutique industries in California, which is why it earnt its place in the Pork Book. We can send you fruit fly free olive oil from down here for much less.

Volcano monitoring may not be a top priority for creating jobs and stimulating credit, which is doubtless what Jindal’s speechwriter meant, but it does save lives.

And here I was thinking that the stimulus bill was about creating jobs and stimulating credit. Duh me.

Jindal’s rendering of a spending eruption metaphor (get it?) merely gave Democrats yet another opportunity to question Republicans’ understanding of science and the role of government in protecting the public good.

As for Jindal, enjoy these wise words from an unlikely source. The guy’s brilliant and has a bright future, one horrible speech notwithstanding.

Actually, nothing could make me less likely to support Jindal than reading some K. Parker crap.

The GOP has tried to control Jindal and Palin.

The asshats who write this stuff could do better with a look at the phonies and gender challenged at MSNBC. That could be funny.

Also, will the media ever contrast Jindal’s American story of a family bent on success with faith and ethics with The One’s nightmare? Consider the horrible, alcoholic, crib robbing father who went to Harvard and deserted his family and a grandmother who clearly turned The One on rich white people and a mother who couldn’t stay around. Ask any psychiatrist. A fine pot for a sociopath.
