CNN: Limbaugh’s angry, sinister speech “crossed a line”

posted at 12:32 pm on March 1, 2009 by Allahpundit

I haven’t had time to watch the speech but doubtless those who have will have plenty to say in response in the comments. I did see that Rush revisited his point about wanting The One to fail, which gives the media ample excuse to run with it, sans context, for another week. Stephanopoulos used it to make Cantor squirm on “This Week” this morning and Rahm Emanuel took full advantage by painting the GOP as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rush Inc. All part of the strategy to make the party’s approval rating among independents look like Limbaugh’s does.

As a Christian you need to understand that George Soros may well be an incarnation of the devil. The Useful Idiots get their marching orders from Soros. He is behind the movement to destroy America. Soros will stop at nothing and is leading the UIs (getalife, sethstorm, and the other sad KOSKID trolls) to their – and our – demise.

Every act of denigration, character assassination, disinformation, lying, deceit, is a means to take power from millions of us and bestow it on a select group of empty greedy humanoids. If we dont stop them imagine what is in store for our children.

kooziegirl on March 2, 2009 at 11:03 AM

Soros and his friends want nothing less than a new Reign of Terror, greater than the one imposed by Robespierre during the French Revolution.

I’m sure they’re preparing the guillotines as we speak. And they would LOVE to slice Rush’s head off before the world!

(Maybe it’s time for the Dems to stop pretending and say it loud: that they want nothing else than the total annihilation of Republicans. They want to see Conservatives facing the firing squad, literally. They have tasted blood, and they want more. Like sharks and vampires.

newton on March 2, 2009 at 12:04 PM

Rush has got to be loving this. He’s manipulating the liberal media like I’ve never seen before. They are propelling him to ever higher status and are making sure that his popularity reaches new heights. But I gotta say he didn’t waste an opportunity and really took advantage of the spotlight. That was an absolutely incredible speech.

MrX on March 2, 2009 at 11:09 AM

The screeching nutroots are apoplectic today. This should be fun to watch.

kooziegirl on March 2, 2009 at 12:05 PM

Sour grapes from the tanking CNN.

This is from the network that, on a good day, grabs half the viewers that FNC does. I can’t stand their doom and gloom and pompous BS, and I was a Democrat until after 9/11.

PattyJ on March 2, 2009 at 12:07 PM

Rush is looking a little angry these days. Maybe it’s the jowl.

No, getaclue, the GOP committed suicide in March of 2008 when they proclaimed the conservative movement was dead and nominated John McCain. Both GOP moderates and Democrats crowed about the irrelevance of Limbaugh and the Conservative movement. All Rush was trying to do is rally the survivors. The rest of the GOP is busy packing themselves into the big tent. What’s already been dead for a year can’t commit suicide.
How can you say with a straight face that Limbaugh is the head of the GOP? Nobody listened to him when they chose that turd of a candidate. The turd candidate didn’t bother campaigning to the conservative part of the base. Limbaugh isn’t in charge of anything. He’s a private citizen, with a radio show that espouses a viewpoint ignored by both political parties. The GOP gave you guys the government. What are you scared of?

DeathToMediaHacks on March 2, 2009 at 12:00 PM

There was nothing angry in his speech, either in word, or manner, you moron. Maybe you can keep your butt kisser shut if the only criticism you can come up with is you don’t like his face.

Maybe it is time for the left to stop pretending, wont happen, its in their dna to continue to the charade.

Soros and co. fooled millions into voting for Obama utilizing a lethal dose of cyanide the O marketers called hopenchange.

The sad Baracko voters who sucked up all the poison they could get make the haleboppers clutching their quarters seem like mensa potential.

If we are going to have one, I would hope to get it over with sooner rather than later before America is too far gone. Amnesty, cruel welfare, crippling government spending, and chocking ingenuity with taxes are 4 pillars of ruination.

It looks to me like this current lot really does want to take this county down.

saiga on March 2, 2009 at 12:23 PM

Rush is a national treasure. Someone who comes along once in a lifetime. The “Ben Franklin” award he received at CPAC is truly appropriate.

Rush criticized Bush’s big government initiatives day in and day out, including the bailout, no child left behind, amnesty, expansion of drug benefits, etc.etc.etc.

neuquenguy on March 2, 2009 at 11:47 AM

And he cheerleaded Bush’s reelection. It’s not like we didn’t know that Bush was a Rockefeller globalist Republican. Remember, when the Republicans got their due Rush said he suddenly felt “liberated,” where were those principles he espoused in his speech before his “liberation?”

Excellent question. The left and its useful idiots hate people who have the ability to live their lives without the left (ie government). The left and its useful idiots hate us – people who love our founding documents. They hate what those documents stand for: liberty and freedom.

Liberty and freedom are anathemas to everything the left craves, power and control. The lefts goal is to destroy all people who belive in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. It is the only way they can win.

The speech was neither angry nor sinister. CNN is just portraying Rush using the stereotype they’ve always used. It’s much easier to use the stereotype then to actually report on what he said.

They’re either lazy or biased or both.

They are consistent, they lie, misinform, obfuscate consistently. When those don’t work as well as hoped, they denigrate and destroy. Its who they are. CNN used to stand for Clinton News Network, now its just the Commie News Network.

I have to admit that I thought that Rush did more harm than good during the 08 primaries. It appeared to me that he spent more time tearing candidates down than building them up. We did have a somewhat week field, but Rush’s pounding of that fact might have contributed to a depression of the conservative base, leading to the McCain candidacy.

neuquenguy on March 2, 2009 at 12:51 PM

It was pretty sad watching Rush try to be cool and hip with his bodily motions. I mean his fat was jiggling all over the place. Obama will almost certainly get a boost in the polls as a result of this embarrassment.

Cloward Piven has been the operations manual of “regime change” since the 60′s. Even Rahm Emmanuel felt comfortable saying never let a good crisis go to waste.

The left made sure our society in general has been dumbed and numbed. Gives them license to destroy us. Most people know something is wrong when they hear about campus speech codes, hate speech, political correctness, etc but they dont know how to fight it much less where it originated.

Just moments ago on the air, Rush uncorked a rant that undoubtedly sent tremors through RNC headquarters.

“I’m not in charge of the Republican Party, and I don’t want to be,” Rush said. “I would be embarrassed to say that I’m in charge of the Republican Party in a sad-sack state that it’s in. If I were chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it’s in, I would quit.”

… “Republicans and conservatives are sick and tired of being talked down to, they’re sick and tired of being lectured to,” Rush continued. “And until you show some understanding and respect for who they are, you’re gonna have a tough time rebuilding your party.”

I can’t argue against that.

Rush crossed the line only in the sense that, like Sarah Palin, he got in the Messiah’s face, and took the fight to him.

Notice how the Dems get nervous when people take the fight to Obama without the filter of TV commercials and in a very pointed way.

Only Sarah and Rush have been able to do this: what separates them is the passion they have for their beliefs and the conviction resonant in their voice.
