Video: Campus police brutalize Coulter protester by, um, arresting him

posted at 3:33 pm on February 26, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via Gutfeld, driven to a fugue state of violent rage by a week’s worth of whining from college-aged progressives. Hot on the heels of the immortal “NYU Alamo” clip comes this harrowing vid of a protester at Coulter’s speech to the College of New Jersey being horribly … handcuffed and led out. To set the scene:

The police report from that night says that Tracey went onto the stage, where Coulter was signing books.

After being advised the stage area was for those with books only, Tracey said he had a piece of paper and wanted an autograph.

“When he was told no, he went around two police officers and approached the table where Ann Coulter was sitting,” Holt wrote.

Holt took Tracey off the stage and into the seating area, then told the student he was not allowed to go back to the stage and had to leave.

As Tracey walked back towards the stage, Holt grabbed Tracey’s coat in an attempt to stop him, but said Tracey spun out of the coat and ran towards the seating area.

Tackling Tracey toward the ground, Holt attempted to handcuff Tracey, but the young man would not put his hands behind his back.

Surprise: After initially threatening a lawsuit, he’s now decided against it. And surprise again: Apparently, he’s the vice president of the campus’s College Democrats.

Brace yourself. You’ve never seen police conduct like this before. Unless you’ve ever seen anyone arrested before.

No one knows what Thomas said so how the hell could Ann allude to it?

SnarkVader on February 26, 2009 at 4:58 PM

From MM’s post:

“Bobby Jindal was ‘pitiful,’ Helen Thomas tells film crew, right before making a ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ crack.”

Trust me, Coulter knows about this.

What was the crack Thomas made?

SnarkVader on February 26, 2009 at 5:02 PM

Sean Penn has already bought the rights to this story. He’s going to title the movie, “Soy Milk”.

I hope this stupid twink gets charged with something serious that will be fully prosecuted and succesfully convicted. No “community service” sentence allowed because he’ll just do summer break community organizing for ACORN, thinking that the judge’s community service sentence meant communist service.

He should not be let off with a light sentence because his campus Democrat affiliation is proof of his malicious intent.

Let’s not forget the main issue here.

This boy rushed to presumably assault a woman in public.

WTF has society come to where how he was treated is even an issue here.

Political correctness has ruined this country I love.

It’s a Coulter thread. I took my shot.

And a legit shot it was, but while we can all go back and forth over who said what, we can all agree that it’d be cool to hear “GET OFF MY HEAD!!!!!” every time David Letterman throws a blue card out the “window”.

We need to put that high-pitched moonbat squeal on every radio program in the country.

Give this guy Sean Penn’s Oscar! I love how he hams it up hoping that people think he is actually being repressed.

The fact that this guy can look at the pictures of the “bruises” he has on his face and wrists and actually think that they somehow paint him in a sympathetic light speaks volumes as to how he was brought up and how he thinks.

My God, I get worse bruises roughhousing with my 8 and 11 year old daughters. Come to think of it, either one of them could take him.

On a more serious note, Ann, and other conservative speakers, better start having bodyguards for security. There is no question, in my mind, that if these radicals thought they could get away with it, they would not hesitate to physically assault them.

Joe Pyne on February 26, 2009 at 6:40 PM

the diff b/t us and them, is that we are supposed to be better than that and them. the day we “want” police to rough liberals up or to silence them, is the day we sink to their level. they used the correct amount of force.

i say to thet tool who was arrested, “take your medicine you cry-baby. next time dont think you are above the law.”

FYI – Tracey wrote an article for his school newspaper that came out the day of the lecture where he argued for legalizing drugs.

HAHA!! Pot smoking Dem libtard!

Check out what the EDITORIAL STAFF of The College Of New Jersey’s school paper THE SIGNAL wrote about how ANN COULTER coming to speak at the college influenced their writing.

from http://media.www.signal-online.net/media/storage/paper771/news/2009/02/18/Editorial/Ann-Coulter.Has.Us.Thinking-3634417.shtml?refsource=collegeheadlines

Ann Coulter has us thinking
Issue date: 2/18/09 Section: Editorial

When the Signal staff started brainstorming ideas for this week’s editorial, it was immediately clear we were going to have a problem.

Obviously, we had to address the pressing issue on everyone’s minds, an issue that has gotten more than 50 comments on our Web site, and an issue that has students sneaking around at night in ski masks chalking sidewalks outside the Brower Student Center: controversial conservative pundit Ann Coulter’s appearance tonight in Kendall Hall.

The dilemma we faced when deciding the subject of the editorial was that none of us really agreed on what to write.

Many of us could come to an agreement that most of what Coulter says is simply intended to shock and offend for her own financial benefit. The other thing almost all of us agreed on was that she absolutely has the right to speak.

None of the Signal editors jumped to Coulter’s defense, but we all had differing opinions on the best way to handle disagreeing with Coulter’s rhetoric.

Some of us thought that by calling attention to Coulter, the protestors are adding fuel to the fire. By protesting her, they are drawing more attention to the fact that she is both a controversial figure and coming to campus. Taking her seriously lets her win.

Others thought the means the protestors are taking – walking out during Coulter’s lecture and having a discussion afterwards – is the wrong way to go about it, as it is too passive. Instead, they should make a stronger statement.

Yet others took a completely different stance. If you don’t agree with what she has to say, some said, then don’t go to the lecture.

A few others said if you’re going to disagree with what Coulter has to say, then you should challenge her in person. Stay at the lecture, ask her a question and engage her in debate, they said.

Finally, some of us thought the protest is an effective way of making a statement. The protest is non-violent, and will be followed by a forum for discussion, they said, so it is a good way to express disagreement and facilitate an exchange of ideas.

For a few minutes, our Signal office was alive with discussion and debate. We never finally agreed on how to approach the subject, instead getting distracted by the thought that other groups on campus were probably having a similar discussion.

For a school that has a politically apathetic reputation, the buzz Coulter’s visit has generated around campus is not only surprising, but encouraging. It’s sparking a discussion that reaches every group of students. We’re being challenged to have an opinion, and we are answering that challenge.

We may all disagree, we may all think different things. But the fact is, we’re thinking about it.

TheMightyQuinn on February 26, 2009 at 7:18 PM

I really liked how the officer had his knee on his neck holding him down.

logis on February 26, 2009 at 7:29 PM

Hardly. I have been to events where the “police” do nothing to stop students from interupting the speaker. At what point do we get fed up enough to sit the little bastards back down in their chairs and tell them to shut up or get helped out the door. My patience is starting to wear a bit thin and the veneer of “civilization” these little whiners wear like shield wore off a long time ago. Asking them to be tolerant doesn’t get you anywhere but spit on a cussed at. So, perhaps the question was poorly worded, but whats your solution?

serenity on February 26, 2009 at 7:43 PM

As a college student I can say this: I can’t stand college students! They have too much hubris.

That guy was either a pansy or just hyping it up. Kinda like the girl that screamed “He touched my shoulder” at the NYU Alamo.

SnarkVader on February 26, 2009 at 5:14 PM

He is probably one of the ones that left early.

The funny thing about getting arrested is that if you comply with the instructions of the arresting officer you will not get hurt. He could of ended his “pain” at any time by simply putting his hands behind his back. He wanted the arrest to look “brutal” while his buddy filmed it, so he could show the violence inherent in the system (of the right of course).

Why are liberals so petty? I mean, shouldn’t they just be happy their idiot messiah won? If McCain had won and Keith Olbermoron was speaking somewhere shortly thereafter, would any conservative care enough to bother him?
