CPAC Interview: Michael Yon

posted at 10:40 am on February 26, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

For our first interview at CPAC, I spoke to Michael Yon, who’s about as far away from here as one can get. Michael called in from Thailand to update our viewers on the war on terror, and to talk about Barack Obama’s explicit rejection of torture.

Be sure to visit Michael’s site and put a few dollars in the tip jar. He’s one of the few actual war correspondents left in the business, and he’s entirely reliant on user donations.

Whack-a-mole with sharia on the side.

And the people of the Afghan landfill are getting impatient? Heh.

But real heroes and journalists who actually report the truth just confuse and enrage the elitists. Completely unfair! Should I turn off the sarc now?

Perhaps people should stop using slogans like “Journalism is dead.” Such stupid statements belittle the yeoman’s work of Michael Yon. This idea blockades aspiring journalists with a fair perspective.

Also, there are conservative journalists. Is Amanda Carpenter dead? What about Michelle Malkin? Many bloggers are strong enough in their fact-gathering and copy-editing that they are, in fact, journalists.

Barack Obama’s explicit rejection of torture.

One mans torture is another man’s u-tube video.

Michael Yon Rocks! If you have not donated to Michael and received a complimentary copy of ‘Moment of Truth’, do it. You will not be disappointed.

Sorry folks. Sounds like blogger BS to me… I haven’t listened to much from him but why does he report from Thailand (lotsa fun) about Afganistan? I spent over 10 years in Asia, many of those in Thailand, and I was waiting for his report on the beheading of Thai cops. I guess no big deal. I would love to have this guy’s gig to regurgitate reports we have heard over and over to be cited as revelations of glorified truth here. I used to report the stuff he is trying to make fresh, when it was fresh, and I kind of have a problem with his reporting. Somebody give me something to respect and continue to listen to this guy.

Mr. Yon, great insider information that the left and Main Stream Media MSM take out of context to make their case against out efforts to defeat the enemy over there, rather than where they want to be – up close and personal in your living room.
