I really don’t mind the release of the prisoners at Gitmo. I honestly wish they would release all of them. Just turn them loose anywhere you choose.

In fact, I’ll go one better, I’ll suggest where we can release these fine upstanding abused people. Anyone object to them being released in San Francisco? How about Los Angeles? They would find plenty of help in San Francisco, all they would have to do is chant Death to America and a crowd would form around them cheering them on. In Los Angeles, they would probably end up in a Gang area, say South Central, or East LA, where they could meet those fine folks.
Snake307 on February 24, 2009 at 8:28 AM

I'll raise you one.....what if San Francisco and Hollywood liberals, who are so worried about their civil rights, are forced to host them as a sort of "foreign exchange student?" They'd wear one of those cute little ankle bracelets, have full access to their homes and sit at their dinner table every night.

Perhaps it's time to strike back with the tactics so successfully employed in the recently ended war on terrorism.

Everyone go to the mall an extra two times this week and keep a sharp eye out for recently released terrorists and don't talk about Islam.

Mr Mohamed, an Ethiopian refugee who worked as a caretaker at a mosque in West London, claims he travelled to Afghanistan in June 2001 in order to kick his drug habit but he was arrested in Karachi, Pakistan in April 2002 using a false passport to fly to London.

Riiight. Because, next to, say, Colombia, Afghanistan is the go-to place to get off drugs (and false passports are de rigeur).

If this is the Hill the officer chose...more power to him.

But, he has one hell of an battle on this issue. That little election thingie we had, and Obama's being sworn in (twice) sort of puts the advantage in the Obama court (no pun intended) as that vote and swearing in pretty much made him President.

[One has to consider the effects of the USSC or Congress tossing him out, now, as ineligible. Or, on the other hand, the Congress refusing to toss him out should the documents show he was not qualified. Given the Obama vetting process and their wonderful batting average on that one...this is a can of worms I'd like to not see opened in many ways. The collateral damage would be grave.]

Do I believe that are certain discrepancies regarding Obama's status as a US citizen? Yes. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence to support a lot of it. The stonewalling by the Obama camp and the courts, too, along the way. If Obama would just release the full and complete document cache...might go a long way toward that "transparency" garbage he keeps talking about. You know, lead by example.

Anyway...back to our wonderful new program to simply just release terrorists...I heard that Ayers is the new Gitmo Czar.

coldwarrior at 9:53 AM-

Had he resigned first...

Legally, if the officer resigned, the courts could then say he had no "standing" to bring the suit. CATCH-23.

Technically, he is endangering his career, but this is the only way he can legally challenge Obama's credentials.

I think the FBI must have vetted Obama's birth certificate sufficiently, and that nothing will come of these challenges, but the soldier's free to bang his head against whatever legalistic wall he wants if he has any doubts about the Barry H. vetting process.

There have been crooks in the FBI and other government security and intelligence agencies as well as in Congress, so they are not to be blindly trusted.

But it is most likely Obama was born in Hawaii, and his policies should be fought, now, not will-o-the-wisps.

That active duty Army officer has just violated Article 88 of the UCMJ. Whether or not his Command will open an Article 32 investigation is at the discretion of his commanding officer, or the next highest military judicial authority.

When did average people start believing the lies of the enemy?

Don't they understand words like disinformation, deception, Fifth Column, spy, sedition, infiltration, sleeper cell, mole, deep cover, etc., etc., etc.?

Those who do not follow the Geneva Conventions' rules do not get their protections.

They should be executed, when caught, as "saboteurs, spies & terrorists".

Otherwise dizzily-shallow legal lunatics and stuporously soft-headed suckers will continue undermine our security and rot the framework of our Civilization by believing the cunningly calculated propaganda of the enemy.

Shoot the terrorist enemies, or be termited into collapse by them ...and their unrealistically idealistic, Moral Highground-hugging suicidally-stupid useful idiots.

It's part of Obama's master plan. You see he wants to stimulate the economy. If he releases these wankers then they will start blowing stuff up. Terrorists tend to go after big things. So they blow stuff up and we rebuild! Sheer genius! Bravo Obama, what a master stroke.

Military prison is only half the answer.

From the movie Ben-Hur, loosely: we can imprison them, execute them, and threaten them, but they keep coming back. How do you fight an idea?

You fight an idea with another idea.

Are we in America standing for or living an idea that can compete with the allure of radical islamofascism?

Maybe by 2012 we could be.

Went to Afghanistan to kick his drug habit? (Could it have been opium?)

Sheesh...everyone of these guys captured has an alibi...was merely visiting my great aunt (whose hubby was armament minister for AQ), was merely studying the Koran (are Korans that rare in the West?), was a tourist (ever try someplace where they were not shooting and beheading people?), thought I'd be attending a madras in Helmand Province (No Koranic schools in a far less desolate environment?).

As for the Obama Administration, won't even get into their excuses and alibis...

But the damage has been done...and precedent set...dangerous terrorists who have never renounced terror nor shown a proclivity to do so...well, they can now be released into the general population (no, not prison population, but the global community) because any shyster lawyer good at his craft can tie up US courts and get the EU courts involved to force the United States to release them all...because an “Unlawful Enemy Combatant” aka Binyam Mohamed was turned loose.

Maybe someone on the Obama team figured that Binyam was related to a frog named "Binyah Binyah?" (last known address - Gullah Gullah Island.)

No prisoners from the Talibani battlefields. All die on sight.

In a <strike>perfect</strike> normal world, maybe.

Today's battlefields are full of "journalists" who sympathize with the enemy and various corrupt international organizations that take the word of terrorists seriously.

At home we have congressmen who are happy to condemn their own troops (while living fat and happy from defense contract kickbacks) and a media intent on destroying morale.

FLAG DAY headlines discontented responses to Obama

1) Thong-Boy Deserter

Boulder police said they received an anonymous tip Saturday that Christopher Mauger, who has a nationwide felony warrant for desertion, could be found in an apartment unit at 770 29th St. in Boulder.

2) 40-year-old Iraq Volunteer

"As an active-duty officer in the United States Army, I have grave concerns about the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of president of the United States," wrote Scott Easterling in a "to-whom-it-may-concern" letter.
