Are you trying to tell me that 60+% of the Americans polled in this that say they want more stimulus are Sec 8?

I’m not disparaging anyone except those 60+% polled whoever they may be. Those dumb 60+% that want more of the same will, I suspect by all the indicators, be losing their jobs too pretty soon. And based on the stimulus package that purports to invest in a bunch of bridges and roads, they’ll have to be getting those government jobs they voted for with the stimulus. That wouldn’t be sitting behind a desk, but working with a pitchfork, shovel, or, a hoe. So, those liberal enough to think the government bailing them out is the way to go will eventual, I believe, see their hands wrapped around a stick and get to spend some nice thoughtful time outside getting one with nature.

As for Section 8? You have to abide by a lot of laws to get it. Once they’re in, you can never get them out and you can never raise their rent. I don’t take Section 8 so I’m sorry, I’m not living off of anyone’s largess. I’m insulted that you say that my rental property is some charity for me. People don’t treat YOUR property like they treat their own. You know not what you speak of here.

I’ll never understand why space is wasted on polls. Well, I KNOW why the lamestream press does it, but why HA?

As I noted earlier this evening, the American public is showing virtually no confidence in the economic measures that have been implemented or advocated by the Obama administration. In today’s Washington Post, Robert Samuelson reminded us why that is so: the “stimulus” bill had little to do with the economy, and a great deal to do with Democratic Party politics:

Judged by his own standards, President Obama’s $787 billion economic stimulus program is deeply disappointing. For weeks, Obama has described the economy in grim terms. … Given these dire warnings, you’d expect the stimulus package to focus almost exclusively on reviving the economy. It doesn’t, and for that, Obama bears much of the blame.

Big projects take time. They’re included in the stimulus because Obama and Democratic congressional leaders are using the legislation to advance many political priorities instead of just spurring the economy. …No one knows the economic effects of all this; estimates vary. But Obama’s political strategy stunts the impact from what it might have been.

I can remember when 70% supported the invasion of Iraq.

The truth is the polls are kind of all over the place on this. Anywhere from 38% support to 64%. I have a feeling that once the true cost sinks in that support might tank.

I bet this is because the rest of America hasn’t yet seen Cantor’s amazing Aerosmith youtube video. People, I thought we were twittering this?!

I also think there is a lot of difference in the polls which might be caused by how the question is asked. For instance, I think most people probably do support some sort of stimulus, but I am not sure they support this particular plan.

As for the Democrats being at 50%, we shall see. There are other polls showing Republicans making gains.

I say we wait until elections are held. Then we will know how people really feel.

Heart-ache: 64% support stimulus, Obama’s mortgage plan

Yeah, but it could be that only 25% of the population has even a foggy notion as to what the hell the stimulus and mortgage proposals entail. If they get their info from the MSM, all they’ll probably know is that 1. we’re all gonna die if this isn’t done and 2. we’re going to get lots of goodies!!!!!
