Video: Fox News host rips ACORN chief over reclaiming foreclosed homes

Move over, Santelli, there’s a new ostentatiously outraged sheriff in town. Between this and the CNBC “rant heard ’round the world,” expect every financial reporter on cable to start throwing their own atomic fits in hopes of media stardom and, just maybe, a book deal or two. What finer way could there be to start the day than watching a red-faced Erin Burnett pound the desk on “Morning Joe” while hollering about creeping socialism?
You’ll recognize Bertha Lewis, I trust, from her creepy “by any means necessary” post this weekend at HuffPo. Exit question: How much more explosive would this interview have been if Varney had been armed with the boss’s deep background info?

These “rants heard round the world” are in fact the death rattle of the bourgeois, oppressive, inhuman capitalist regime. Long live Obama and his revolution! The inevitable revolution and worker solidarity will flourish and thrive on the ashes of these poor saps that try and resist.

Sheesh. Stuart Varney has been like this forever. He hasn’t changed one bit. He has been a very strong supporter of America and American values and has constantly yelled at people about how he CHOSE to come to this country to be free and exercise individual rights – for himself and his 8 kids. This has nothing to do with trying to be like Santelli. This is pure Varney and always has been.

The seeds of Socialism are ignorance and illiteracy. That is why the Socialists targeted the public schools. They knew that if they created generation after geneartion of imbeciles, the State would be needed to take care of them, and guide them throughout their lives.
OhEssYouCowboys on February 23, 2009 at 3:34 PM
baby capitalism was all part of the design. you see, there is a natural progression for society…from ape like to anarchic to feudal to capitalistic and finally to socialistic. of course we needed capitalism to find all those things worth turning into what we now call our standard of living and culture…but sooner or later the playing field is leveled and a new process begins…
expect it ;-)

Why did she keep insisting that these people “paid their bills”? That’s just ridiculous. The only bill that counts is the mortgage payment. She had no answer for that. Stuart should have hammered her more on just that point.

Stuart Varney is always brutally honest. He is quite often puzzled by the actions of Americans who are trying to become socialized like England, which is why he left.

Are we living on the Planet of the Apes? Such wild disconnect from basic reasoning usually identified with some personality disorder. Here….it’s nothing more than common theft. Let’s be honest. Whitey will give us money if we yell racist loud enough…truth be damned!
lm10001 on February 23, 2009 at 3:39 PM
This was pretty good, but it drives me crazy when the reporters allow their ‘guests’ to just keep yelling out their ridiculous talking points (”They are paying their bills”!!) and the reporter doesn’t take control and break those talking points down into simple questions (”Is a mortgage a bill?”) and then wait until they get an answer.
LASue on February 23, 2009 at 3:40 PM
Exactly right. If they didn’t pay their water bill, the water would be turned off. Same with the lights, the phone, etc. You don’t make the car payment, they come get your car. If you don’t pay the mortgage, you lose the house. Why is that so hard for them to figure out? Are they really that stupid or do they think we are? Either way they’re wrong.
Oink on February 23, 2009 at 3:40 PM

What everyone is forgetting is that the banks are stuck with these loser properties…they don’t make any money taking over a foreclosed home.
right2bright on February 23, 2009 at 3:40 PM
Another thing, by squatting in (foreclosed) homes, ACORN will only help further along the devaluation of properties in this country. Think about it, you’ve got a foreclosed home next to you with a squatter in it, no electricity, no curbside trash removal, no reason to maintain the homestead – these morons will only worsen the housing market by doing this.
dugan on February 23, 2009 at 3:41 PM

I see your screen name is Karl Marx. I have no idea if that’s because he’s your idol or if you see America turning into a Marxist country.
Oink on February 23, 2009 at 3:41 PM
Actually, I thought that was fairly tame. He only seemed to hammer the truth, that they’re not paying for their houses, which is something she was stupidly arguing anyway.
Esthier on February 23, 2009 at 3:41 PM
The insane asylum (Washington) has been taken over by the patients. When America was settled, folks came here for opportunity. Why did someone hop in a covered wagon and head west with no promises from anyone – except the promise that a self reliant person had an opportunity to better himself? No one was promised free healthcare. No one was promised Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps or a free education. Now our government is going to pay your mortgage! Well, only for the idiots that bought houses they could not afford. Those that played by the rules and were self reliant get shafted. We will pay for our neighbors’ mistakes.
During a prosperous time, when government receipts exceed its expenses, nothing is wrong with programs to help the disadvantaged. BUT today we have to borrow from China to pay for these additional programs and place the burden on our children to pay the bill. No parent would stand by and sign their child into economic slavery — BUT this is what we collectively allowed our government to do.
My friends the battle has been lost. The number of citizens in this country that believe the government is the tit upon which all people can suck upon from cradle to grave now exceed the number of citizens that want to be self reliant.
HalJordan on February 23, 2009 at 3:41 PM
If they don’t give the free tv … they’re racists.
No, Jeanie. I’m not kidding. But my blood pressure is rising by the minute. WTF is going on????
Key West Reader on February 23, 2009 at 3:42 PM
This is a fine example of why America is in trouble. The belief that you have a right to something. She believes that since you are living in a house than the house is yours and you cannot be evicted (most likely under any circumstances). I don’t wish the people who are getting evicted any ill will, but most of them are in a bed of their own making.
txaggie on February 23, 2009 at 3:42 PM

Please dont’ compare him to Santelli and “The Wolf.”
He got totally off track and was yelling at this lady about tax money. She’s not worried about tax dollars, she’s worried about squatting in homes.
The correct argument would be to insist upon that the person in that house is not the owner, but a steward of a loan until its paid off, thus it IS the bank’s house, and they want it back.

They have to. Given their culture of death(abortion, euthanasia, and other behaviors that are “rights,”) the number of liberals will drop over generations with their negative population growth.
So they have to acquire new members through other means. Indoctrination it the public schools, for one. I hope Stuart found appropriate ways to educate his eight kids.
Dems aren’t just opposed to school vouchers because they owe the teachers’ unions; they also know they would lose access to some of the future generations.

I knew of a university club that went by “Students for an Orwellian Society.” The spoke “newspeak”, and always said exactly opposite what they meant (when they were in character). Some of them even ran for student government, totally in character.
They took themselves way too seriously.
