The Ed Morrissey Show: Kevin McCullough

posted at 1:00 pm on February 23, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), Kevin McCullough joins us again to discuss the intersection of faith and politics. Kevin and I will discuss last night’s Oscar wins for Slumdog Millionaire and look at the messages from the ceremony itself. Has the Obama administration become the third term of George Bush? Plus, Barack Obama may be more popular than Jesus, but does he beat the Beatles? We’ll also talk about BMX Radio Now, Kevin and Stephen’s exploding success in independent talk radio, as well as Kevin’s book, The Kind of Man Every Man Should Be: Taking a Stand for True Masculinity.

And don’t forget — we’ll have the countdown of the three worst major-release movies of all time in the First Annual HA! Awards, as chosen by Hot Air readers!

Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.) Jazz Shaw of The Moderate Voice moderates the chat, and he has his Troll Gun Trivia Contest running before the show, for those who get there early — and are registered!

Rahm Emanuel on style and good manners:

In another part of the story, Emanuel is frustrated by the New York Times columnist, Paul Krugman, who has criticized Obama for deferring to Republican moderate senators Snowe, Collins and Specter. Passing the stimulus would have been much easier if Al Franken were in the Senate, Emanuel says. “No disrespect to Paul Krugman, but has he figured out how to seat the Minnesota senator? Write a f–king column on how to seat the son of a bitch.”

The feed dies 2:14 into the program. Ustream seems to have problems with podcasts. I usually work during the day, so listening to the live feed is not often an option.

I believe you and I both commented to Ed on Saturday about WIR not playing as a recorded program. Also, like you, my companies IT department frowns on streaming any type of broadcasts due to bandwidth issues in a company of 100 employee’s online.
I purchased a new modem last month thinking it might be my old equipment causing the problem with my ISP, but that has not solved the problem.
I hope Ed will get it set up so that people will be able to download these shows. He always has programs worth spending the time to listen to, but Ustream is certainly damaging his product.

Yes Fynxbell, we both mentioned it on NARN on Saturday, and Ed was notably not happy that the podcasts aren’t woking.

It seems that 3 days out of 5, the program does not work on the podcast. My company’s firewall is the preventer of information technology. Streaming video is not permitted.

Ed, Ustream is definitely hurting your program.
