Great news: Obama names Biden stimulus czar
posted at 1:20 pm on February 23, 2009 by Allahpundit
Skip ahead to 4:05. Just what a jittery America needs to restore confidence in the feds’ bailout management. Worried that Greasy Joe suddenly has an $800 billion line of credit and zero executive experience? Don’t be. The Obama business brain trust is right there behind him, willing and able to lend a hand.
If you want to congratulate The One on his master stroke, the Recovery.gov website is now accepting reader feedback. Exit question: Which is most reassuring — Biden heading up the stimulus, Panetta learning intel on the fly as head of the CIA, or our new energy secretary needing to be told that he’s responsible for, um, energy?

How could Barry deny any loyal leftist a job on the basis of lack of experience?
What is the point exactly of enumerating each individual thing he does that’s dangerous for the country? We tried that during the election. Who are we warning?

As mentioned in headline comments, Slow Joe now wears all of it, and Obama skips merrily out of range. How long can he last,..what is his expiration date, and who is his replacement?

Obama repeating his talking point: “create or save 3.5 million new jobs.”
How, may I ask, does one save a new job?
BuckeyeSam on February 23, 2009 at 1:26 PM
I think that putting Biden in charge of the stimulus is exactly what is needed. He is the right man at the right time for the right package.
I was cautious about the stimulus bill before today but now it has my every confidendce.
I am now certain that it will fail.

Of course since they have our e-mail addresses now, how long until they come get us and throw us in a gulag?
becki51758 on February 23, 2009 at 1:30 PM
At least we know that Biden will repeatedly “slip up” and make “stimulous secrets” public knowledge. He or his wife.
anniekc on February 23, 2009 at 1:31 PM
That’s the perverse beauty of Obama’s “plan.” One cannot prove that any job was “saved.” It is simply not possible to detect in any finite manner. Anecdotal evidence can only suggest that a particular job was saved.
An empty promise in its entirety, but it sure sounds good, doesn’t it?
coldwarrior on February 23, 2009 at 1:31 PM
What could go right?
wdmdoug on February 23, 2009 at 1:32 PM
More of o’s safety net mentality: Get your minions(preferably GOP)to float the idea and if the public doesn’t like it, it’s him goes under the bus, not o. Beginning to think that Richardson and Gregg figured out they were running for their lives when they opted to leave. What ever happened to Biden’s high IQ–must have checked it at the WH door,or he’s gambling that it will all turn out ok?
jeanie on February 23, 2009 at 1:32 PM
Right after Biden was selected as VP, one of the writers in my office started a “Best of Biden” quotes on his door.
I told him he was going to need a much larger door!
But hey, how bad can Biden do on the stimulus? We already know it’s a load of crap – who better to help dole it out?
kybowexar on February 23, 2009 at 1:32 PM
It’s far better than having a Wall Street Obstructionist.
The Clintons might as well just get Party membership.

How about a HA pool on a projected replacement date? I’m betting right after the 2010 elections. Obama won’t want him around in 2012.

Becki, I didn’t give them my real email and it worked. But, I’m sure if they want to find me it won’t be hard.

I can’t take stuff like this for four more years. It’s been a little over a month and I feel like I’ve been in a 15 round fight with Marvin Hagler! Except it’s still the first round! Dow is down over 150 points again today!! Big Vote of confidence in this move!! The change I’m startin’ to believe in is what little I have left jingling in my pocket.

The DOW is having another bad day. I suspect Wednesday is going to be really rough after Obama’s speech.
When I was in high school, the DOW was under 1000. I fear that it will be back there before I can retire.

Why would he let Biden be the face of his most important Legislative Bill? He probably thinks that Biden will take the fall when it doesn’t work with the media giving him a pass. And you know what, he is right; the media will give him another pass.

Good lord . . . this jackass and his mindless goons are destroying the country. Within a couple of years you’ll be lucky if you can put food on your table let alone buy cars and other large expenditure items. His fiscal policies are beyond stupid and his social programs will take every cent we have to sustain. The end is not far off.

On the bright side, each 5% drop in the dow is a little bit less in real dollars. So, if it drops 5% today and 5% tomorrow (law of diminishing losses/returns), it’s not as bad as it could have been.
So, hey, be happy.

Clinton’s china visit:
Screw human rights. Buy our debt.
And, by some liberals’ account, she’s the most competent one of the group.
Then again, they have a point.

Acting President Obama wants Acting doofus Biden to be the one who redistributes wealth.
tarpon on February 23, 2009 at 1:52 PM
This might actually be a good thing. With Biden’s propensity for gaffes, he might actually leak out where and how the money is being misspent.
rbj on February 23, 2009 at 1:52 PM
The only benefit is the potential that Joe can shake his minders and get some unsupervised face time in front of the cameras.
Besides the benefit of an endless stream of comedy we have the added plus of him inadvertently derailing his own plan.
But it has also given me pause. This is such a laughably disastrous move that we have to consider the possibility that an even more clever Obama has another agenda altogether.
