AP, you’re wrong. It’s not enough already. Attack, attack, and attack. Keep fighting Santelli, especially since the WH thinks it is okay to call you out.

DrStock on February 22, 2009 at 9:22 PM

Not NEARLY enough already, no way, no how. That’s why we’re where we’re at! We need MORE people speaking out like this getting the public riled. One of the major problems of this economy is too much “oh, it’s sooo bad and such a catastrophe that we can do nothing about it” garbage. No, there IS something we can do about it, and that’s rail against the administration for doing TOO MUCH about it and the WRONG THINGS about it! I’ve had it up to HERE, and it’s not of Santelli; it’s all the gloom and doom that if we don’t listen to the Chosen One, we will fail. THAT IS NOT the truth! We need to NOT listen to him anymore and listen to ourselves.

Dude, it’s enough already.

The WH and many media outlets are attempting to intimidate and or ridicule Santelli for speaking out. He’s getting the JTP treatment. But they’ll try to silence you too AP if you become a problem. You have to back Santelli because he stands between them and you, and ultimately me too.

JiangxiDad on February 22, 2009 at 9:23 PM

It’s not enough, but the movement needs more faces.

DrStock on February 22, 2009 at 9:24 PM

I hope more media types see things the way Kudlow does.

Imagine if more and more media people view the Obama regime as attacking free press.

Could it cause a divorce of some of the press from the Kool-Aid fountain?

I’d like to sit back and see.

TheSitRep on February 22, 2009 at 9:26 PM

Thank God!!!

I sure did not think it was going to be the most liberal,Obama butt kissing network to be the first to get off their knees and call Obama’s administration out.

The press may be having buyers remorse and see that the first month of this failed community organizers Presidency shows that he is in way over his head.

The “Salesman and Chief” is nothing more than a puppet for Reid and Pelosi, ensuring that disastrous policies are on the way.The quicker the press make the Obama administration accountable, the less the blow from the public for the sell-out con job they perpetuated on the American people in pushing Mr. 57 states into the White House.

Baxter Greene on February 22, 2009 at 9:26 PM

More, plenty more should be doing exactly as this guy is doing. If the media would have done their job and “informed” us as to what’s in this monster this conversation wouldn’t be necessary!!!!

conmo on February 22, 2009 at 9:26 PM

Rick Santelli speaks for you, me and every other middle class American t’d off at the trash screwin’ us to bail them out – whether it’s the white trash in trailer parks or the black bimbo wanting a free mortage and ride to the white trash in the skyscrapers having a cold. We play by the rules, just want a fair go… and don’t want to pay mortgages for cheaters. We just want a job, make a contribution to society and hopefully the planet and a good life. Gosh, we’d just like a President who would say, “My commitment to strive to be worthy of the example of the great men who have gone before. Presidents walk in giant footsteps. They have magnificent legacies to uphold. I stand here on this day and put my name forth, as one who aspires to their example, who will daily make that sacrifice, who will honor not just the office, but the people that office serves. *Their* President of these United States of America.” I doubt seriously Obama gets that by taxing us to subsidize and relieve from punishment cheaters.

Also, Gov’r Sarah Palin probably knew this subsidy of others’ mortgages was coming and she tapped into our rage ahead of today. G*d, thank you for giving us her.

retiredeagle on February 22, 2009 at 9:24 PM

I’ve thought a lot about that, too–as I clean my weapons.

I’ve wondered if the Fairness Doctrine will be the straw?

davidk on February 22, 2009 at 9:28 PM

I wish Santelli had taken a giant steaming … on it and promised to mail it back to the White House with his comments. That’d be a good start.

Has this been posted? He starts out specifically talking about the mortgage plan’s impact in Orange County, but then broadens it to the hardest-hit areas of the country.

http://mortgage.freedomblogging.com/2009/02/21/mortgage-forensics-expert-bailout-wont-help/6885/

Q. What do you think of the President Barack Obama’s $75 billion plan to help troubled homeowners?
A. It’s not going to help us much in Orange County. First, people have to prove they qualify for loans. You can’t fake it anymore, which means a lot of people are out. This also applies only to Fannie and Freddie loans, which doesn’t include half of the people here with home loans.

Q. Who does it help?
A. It helps if you’re upside down on your home, but only up to 105 percent loan-to-value. The problem is, we peaked at about $635,000 average home and now we’re below $400,000. So we’ve got a ton of people who owe $500,000, $600,000, $700,000 and they can’t be helped. This plan won’t work in California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada — which account for more than 60 percent of foreclosures nationwide, because the values have fallen too far.

Skandia Recluse on February 22, 2009 at 9:28 PM

This mortgage bailout is ‘reparations by stealth’, at least the 40 acres part. The criteria for receiving bailout money are intentionally vague, but seem to focus on ‘victims’ – of under- or unemployment, and crumbling neighborhoods. Eligibility will be determined arbitrarily, probably by a newly formed gov’t agency staffed by those sympathetic to the applicants. Property tax breaks for these struggling homeowners will soon follow. In an attempt to save the floundering auto mfgs, cars will be purchased with gov’t funds and handed out as well. Gotta have that mule, too.

It isn’t just Santelli, The market keeps saying that Komrade Obamabi is full of brown stuff…

Any bets on if it gets into the 6000′s this coming week??

Giving people food stamps and rental assistance was one thing, but the arrogant idiots in washington thought they could get away with giving people HOUSES… At this rate I’d better find the old Monopoly games around the house because the Monopoly Money will be worth more than Dollars.

To answer the question, No, it isn’t enough already until we get to the point where congress votes to rescind every last bacon strip of pork in the porkulus bill. … and whatever president is in the oral orifice signs it.

Jim Treacher on February 22, 2009 at 9:46 PM

Santelli is right. With prices outpacing compensation we’ve seen less disposable income for awhile now and yes, we are all struggling. What you don’t seem to understand, Mr. President, is that we all have “skin in this game.” Sound familiar? Yes, if you are going to modify loans, then lets modify everyone’s loans. When Madison penned “providing for the GENERAL welfare” he had a purpose for choosing that adjective that seems to be lost on the One who studied Constitutional Law.

We’ve cut cable/satellite, vacations, and entertainment. We have no big screen TV, iPods, or Wii’s. We eat all meals at home. We drive used cars that we’ve had for 10 years now. House needs much work but we’ve had to put that off. It is called living within your means and saving for a rainy day, but now evidently that was foolish b/c it will be confiscated to bail out people who make poor decisions. We were really itching to pay off the house but I guess Welfare Wanika needs it more than I do. Yea, so she can sit on her fat fanny enjoying the big-screen that she no doubt already has, and can afford to put gas in that Mercedes parked outside.

I am disgusted with this foolishness. Rick is right and nope, it’s not enough. I hope he never shuts up for 4 years!

Brat4life on February 22, 2009 at 9:47 PM

It is not enough. I am a renter. I would like to have a house, but I decided to save some money before I signed a mortgage because I believed that was the way things worked. If some banker would have told me that I could get a house with little to no down payment and that the rate would never go up I would have looked at him like he had two heads. I just got out of college and began my career and I am far from enthused about spending my life paying for these experiments in nanny-state economics. I guess next time I should not be so naive and expect the government to help me when I make poor choices. I feel like a sucker.

Joe Caps on February 22, 2009 at 9:47 PM

NOwhere near enough. Not no way, not no HOW.

I asked a couple other questions today, if anyone wants a stab at them.

1) What happens to the proceeds of these refinanced/bail-out mortgages when home values go up ~ as they will eventually ~ and the previously distressed home owners who availed themselves of the government largesse expect to sell at a profit?

2) Then there’s the question of being laid off from a job (or experiencing a critical income squeeze, ie., partner job loss, severe compensation cut-back, etc.), but managing to throttle back enough to meet your obligations as you should. You’re just making due, but. You can’t stop…

…wondering ~ come April ~ what magic cloud the dough’s supposed to drop from that will pay an additional IRS obligation, if owed?

Do they take the sixtyfive bucks back to make it up?

Am I wrong with this perception? I don’t have anybody in the family in the military but I have a good idea b/c a friend of mine was married to one.

I wanna see them eating turkey, smiles on their faces, that they are fighting for the right cause and support THIS Prez. Why? Is he going sometime this year for a photo-op and campaign in Iraq? First he has to practice etiquette on how to properly salute a soldier and get knowledge of his men, women and their weapons. BEFORE he cuts their budget.

AP, it is not enough. The public is largely uninformed and the press is disinterested in asking some pretty fundamental questions about where this administration is taking this country.

The market is voting every day and thus far a plurality is voting with Rick and against this administration.

In a few hours Mr Market will vote again and it will be considering, among many things, if it believe Gibbs and his when they claim they can grow the govt and yet cut the deficit in half.

This administration has no clothes in a broad number of policy issues so we need more Rick Santelli’s to come forth and say as much. For whatever reason, Rick’s rant has stirred people to action and has the added advantage of being true.

Enough already? Not by a long shot!

“Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor”?

Forget it, he’s rolling…..

Fighton03 on February 22, 2009 at 10:15 PM

It would be nice to have a Tea Party Rally in Daley Plaza with Rick Santelli, Michelle Malkin and Michelle Murccio, like that event in Denver.

Follow the information here to see the status of those being organized as we write in your area!

I’m not familiar with what did or didn’t happen with GHWB. But Kudlow is pretty much a right-wing free market guy… I think he worked in the Reagan Administration.

BPD on February 22, 2009 at 10:12 PM

I hope so, it would be really wierd if a member or the American Communist Party was saying this now wouldn’t it????

Fighton03 on February 22, 2009 at 10:17 PM

I don’t think this is a different rant, I think this is just a replay of the one with Kudlow we’ve already seen. So beside the fact that he hasn’t really ranted enough this isn’t really an additional rant.

Kudlow’s point about Santelli being singled out is really en point though. We can see what will happen to anyone who dares disagree with Obama. Also the bill is not easily found on the White House website either. Obviously they found it to rip it up but I looked there for quite a while and only found the examples.

And if the agitators against the new order don’t take the hint well we have plenty of cells waiting.

I’ve been thinking about the whole tea party/revolution thing for awhile now…. given that most of our militarily is preoccupied overseas, and probably wouldn’t fire on American citizens anyway…. and given that our military/defense structure is designed for war abroad and not defense at home…. and given that Washington DC is pretty much unprotected…. I’m thinking that a heavily-armed militia of about 20,000 American Patriots could take back our country in a manner of weeks.

What say you?

BPD on February 22, 2009 at 10:22 PM

I think the more important question they ask is, “Is this what we can expect from The One’s administration anytime a member of the media or the citizenry dares to question the Lightworkers policies?” Dissent is suddenly unpatriotic, divisive, and obstructionist. Not much Hope and certainly No Change.

Kevroy on February 22, 2009 at 10:22 PM

What makes us Americans unique is how we react to things. But we are changing and being taken over…not by people but by a Media that is controlling the message and our perceptions, understanding and morals… I think that we have a small window of time here to stop the socialist takeover of our country …so those of you who are scared , have kids or grandkids please get out of your comfort zones and do something! George Soros is once again talking down the economy and painting a picture of gloom and doom…he is the one in charge! FIGHT HIM…

CCRWM on February 22, 2009 at 10:25 PM

Dude, it’s enough already.

Good grief AP, I’ve tried to give you’re moderate, higher-ground attitude the benefit of the doubt but Holy Crap! AP, are you sure HA is the site for you? You seem to just not grasp reality sometimes.

As for me and mine…we’re in!

Funny but we were convinced that O wouldn’t win so we purchaed a shotgun and a handgun for protection against the angry masses(little did we know that ACORN and the SOS would literally steal the election)Well we’re considering buying another shotgun before they are outlawed

CCRWM on February 22, 2009 at 10:28 PM

Dude, it’s enough already.

Not enough already!

This is very much a war Obama’s getting us into

There’s no way he can win this

When are we gonna see his exit strategy?

Here’s an article from FreeRepublic via Gateway Pundit via michellemalkin.com about Jim DeMint calling for street demonstrations.

From the article:

“I’ve become increasingly aware that the thoughtful, well-informed leaders are very few and far between in the Congress — people who seem to be well-read and continuing to kind of grow their skills. It’s become rhetorical and political …”

Instead, DeMint is looking to the people — where he still sees a “remnant” of freedom-loving still stirring.

Only a remnant?

“That’s all it is,” he concludes. “But that’s all it takes.

“Freedom is in our hands; it always has been. We’ve entrusted it to people in Washington, and increasingly they have picked our pockets and pulled power from us. We’re just going to have to take it back.

“The real shame of all this is, I feel Republicans had said that we were going to carry that banner of freedom — and they completely betrayed that. And it’s going to be hard to get it back.”

But with all except three Republicans in Congress voting against the stimulus bill, perhaps getting that banner back has started. There are a few rising conservative stars on the national scene, including Reps. Jeff Flake of Arizona, Jeb Hensarling of Texas and Mike Pence of Indiana.

Still, DeMint says star power isn’t what we need. “I think what we need to look for first is to find the principles that will bring us together. I’m not looking for a face right now.”

Allahpundit…This is really important. And we need a narrative that will break through. The most important thing this guy said during his rant was the response to why we don’t need to rescue the mortgage losers: “This is America for God’s sake.”

If it’s going to stay the American we have had for the past 200 plus years, we need more of these guys yelling “Halt!!!!!!!!!!”
