I love it!
taney71 on February 22, 2009 at 8:49 PM
Hold on. Santelli was called out by the President’s Press Secretary. What is he suppose to do? I think he should have said he read it and said it is still crap. The guy was just defending himself after Obama had his dogs go after him.
taney71 on February 22, 2009 at 8:51 PM
And so it begins…
Zorro on February 22, 2009 at 8:52 PM
Dude, it’s nowhere near enough. If President Obambi is going to continue spending hundreds of billions of our dollars on half-assed bailout plans, he can take harsh criticism from a CNBC analyst.
amerpundit on February 22, 2009 at 8:52 PM
What do you mean, “its enough already?” You have more important stuff to cover? Is this guy Santelli crowding Octomom and the Chimp out of the news??
Unbelievable.
james23 on February 22, 2009 at 8:53 PM
So, someone is actually pissed off and some right-bloggers are tired of it already? I’m sure if he just *sighed* about it, it would’ve been perfect.

Honeymoon is OVER!
GarandFan on February 22, 2009 at 8:55 PM
No way! He was mocked by the administration!! What is he suppose to do?? Just roll over and say sorry??? I don’t get that at all! Hey,,if only there were a 100,000 more Santelli’s,,, screaming day and night,,, it would not be too many!!!!!
JellyToast on February 22, 2009 at 8:55 PM
It won’t seem like a whole lot if we have to use force to stop Osamabamabiden’s rush to socialism.
And I, for one, am willing to fight for my country against socialism from within as well as from without.
And that is not hyperbole.
davidk on February 22, 2009 at 8:56 PM
it’s never enough in my book when anybody stands up to this pig administration.

Rolling over is what “beta males” do best.
Big Orange on February 22, 2009 at 8:58 PM
My guy is out risking his life defending this country. He’s incommunicado for long lengths of time. Yet he pays his mortgage on time, while losers sit at home living it up, sleeping with the one they “love” while my guy sleeps on the ground–cold and away from me– in defense of their way of life.
It is most definitely is not enough already.
baldilocks on February 22, 2009 at 8:58 PM
Damn, Kudlow was popping a vein in his forehead. A lot of hystrionics, but by and large they are right. It’s a crap sandwich, and Gibbs is being a real smart-ass…..and he doesn’t play smart-ass particularly well, ya know?
Tim Zank on February 22, 2009 at 8:58 PM
Why in the world should he shut up. He’s right and we need to be loud and obnoxious to get people’s attention, not sit back and be polite.

Speaking truth to power. Testify, brother.
Amen.
P.S. The crapweasels in the media said much worse things about President Bush and his administration. You would have they would have been lashing out constantly. I have never seen any of the press secretaries under President Bush act in the manner in which Gibbs did. Disgrace.

Citigroup Inc. is in talks with federal officials that could result in the U.S. government substantially expanding its ownership of the struggling bank, according to people familiar with the situation.
While the discussions could fall apart, the government could wind up holding as much as 40% of Citigroup’s common stock. Bank executives hope the stake will be closer to 25%, these people said.
Look at WSI site FFS

WTF? We need more from him and millions more to slow this creep towards socialism.
toliver on February 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
No its not enough-nowhere near enough. I want Santelli to take that video of ACORN all the way to the Whitehouse and show them that ACORN is breaking the law(the house was sold and belongs to someone else now) and how Obama is encouraging that kind of behavior by passing this mortgage bill(Enforce the tresspassing/robbery/squatter laws Obama).
I want to know where/why Judges should be given permission to renegotiate mortgage contracts! I want to know why people that dont pay or took on mortgages they cant afford-or cashed out their affordable mortgages with inflated equity values and now they get a better deal on thier bills than the responsible mortgage holders or renters do!
canditaylor68 on February 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
I’m all for the mortgage plan, AFTER the administration gives everybody the money they’ve lost in their 401k’s.
If that doesn’t happen, then this isn’t enough.
Not NEAR enough.

IrishSamurai on February 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
I am 92% of the Americans paying my mortgage.
For those idiots who were rushed into the banks by ACORN
taking out loans that ACORN & Obama wanted to FAIL.
It was all planned by the ONE. Now he wants to give these
deadbeats a free pass. NO, NO, NO!!!!
We need to organize protests at all ACORN rallys,
We need to organize protests at all ACORN offices,
We need to organize protests at the White House,
Go and find out where ACORN is breaking into houses,
call the media, make a youtube.
Don’t sit on your ass.

Big Orange on February 22, 2009 at 9:04 PM
Agreed.
Allah, I know you see it as grandstanding, and to an extent, it is. However, it’s exactly the kind of sentiment we need. It’s not excessive. It’s coming from an educated financial analyst with no particular axe to grind. No one else on the air seems to have the balls to really rip this thing for what it is, even on the conservative punditry circle.

A and B are happy because they have “helped” somebody, X is happy because he has been “helped”

C has to keep fighting and Santelli is
we will not be forgotten

I might normally say enough but guess what, the left is on a mission to destroy this guy. I just ran into an argument on a site completely not politics related but loaded with lefties. There is a plan and it looks like a Palin attack. Now he drinks too many martinis and looks to squash the poor and down trodden. I almost could not believe what I was reading.

Hey,, we need a car loan bail out plan!!!
Just say no to the repo man!!
ACORN can start breaking into the repo lot and proclaim,, “those are our cars now!!”
Then we could have a Sears credit card bail out plan!!
Then a Macy’s credit card bail out plan!
An Old Navy Credit card bail out plan!!
Obama’s got the means to see you don’t have to return those jeans!!! :)
That was really bad!!

I reiterate many on this topic…. it absolutely is NOT enough. I wish there were more Rick Santelli’s and I want them to yell loudly and often!
My thoughts and prayers to your brave soldier. He does his country a great honor. All the while our politicians (idiots that most are) are destroying this country.

Oh, and AP…
You really jumped the shark this time. You have become a true elitist.
Congrats.
fossten on February 22, 2009 at 9:13 PM
So does that make Santelli an “Economic Truther?”
At what point do we finally call BS on Osama Obama’s screwed-up views? After the economy finally takes the Big Dive? After Obama and The Hildebeest sell us out to our enemies? After Iran lobs one into Israel? After ACORN changes the rules on who has the “right” to own a home?
I think you can figure out the answer, which is: do it now, before it’s too late.
MrScribbler on February 22, 2009 at 9:13 PM
Is Santelli a lib in other areas?? He’s right on this,, but is he an ultra lib on everything else??? Just curious.

The Rant Heard Round The World.
Jerricho68 on February 22, 2009 at 9:13 PM
I hope that Santelli is just getting started. Is no one else (AP included) not, shall we say, a bit “disturbed” by how Gibbs went after Santelli, personally even? The derision and arrogance in voice was palpable, and f***in scary too! I mean, this guy represents the POTUS (and vicariously all Americans) and he derides a PRIVATE CITIZEN that DARES….oh whats the word…DISAGREES with his policies!!!! One thing is for sure now, O and his minions won’t back down, they’re gonna have to be smacked down, beginning now and everyday for the next four years. Otherwise, there’s no hope for us all, and that’s a fact. It’s clear that O wishes to run roughshod over all of his detractors and will do anything (ANYTHING) to enact his policies.
volnation on February 22, 2009 at 9:14 PM
ALLAHPUNDIT, I have to say I am with most here. I loved it, especially because he is part of the press. He has a loud voice because he is on CNBC and he has been heard an awful lot since the rant, and I can’t get enough of it.
One thing I don’t understand is why the parent company NBC didn’t try and silence him.
Anyway, I love this guy! So keep ‘em comin!
funsutton on February 22, 2009 at 9:14 PM
I can’t say, but he’s been against bailouts from the beginning.

You are missing out on Animal House
It gets him the traffic and commenting he wants. Can’t blame him for it
blatantblue on February 22, 2009 at 9:15 PM
It may be enough for one member of the media — Santelli is running the risk of being typecast as a loon — but it’s nowhere near enough as far as an honest appraisal of Obama and his policies is concerned. Santelli’s is one of the very few voices speaking up with any sort of criticism. So no, nowhere near enough.

Porkyius Maximus.
Jerricho68 on February 22, 2009 at 9:16 PM
Big Orange, Dr Cwac did not originate that. He was quoting candidate Obama running to be president of the 57 states. Actually, Obama’s 57 states would be agood idea. Then we would have a bunch more states to bail out the deadbeats. I nominate Switzerland, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia. They have lots of money. Can anybody nominate three more?
Old Country Boy on February 22, 2009 at 9:16 PM
I’ve listened to him for years. He’s been ranting like this…mostly conservative…the entire time. As an investor, I’ve actually learned quite a bit from him. Liesman is the lib.
