Godspeed to your guy! May God watch over you both!
INC on February 23, 2009 at 12:30 PM
I don’t remember the numbers, but I’ve read similar things.
I like the crack about Zogby and Gallup.
INC on February 23, 2009 at 12:32 PM
I live in L A so I get your point…
CCRWM on February 23, 2009 at 12:54 PM
Really??? Noooo, say it ain’t so. Gallup and Zogby? Imagine that (sarcasm goes here).
I don’t know about Gordon Wood. Appreciate the info. I’ve heard of Zinn, watched part of a crockumentary featuring him and Chomsky I think. Couldn’t watch the whole thing. Nauseating.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 1:07 PM
Allah, you and I must have the same motto:
“Light the fuse, and get away.”
LOL
Anyway, I agree with the others – it’s not nearly enough. It’s just the beginning.
capitalist piglet on February 23, 2009 at 1:08 PM
P.S. That’s on my Fourth of July t-shirt.
capitalist piglet on February 23, 2009 at 1:09 PM
CCRWM, my condolences. LA used to be an exciting beautiful city, maybe parts of it still are. I moved 2 years ago from a moderate size city of about 500,000 to a little town 30 miles away, pop. 7,500. It is wonderful, I don’t know why I waited so long.
To your earlier point, I’m not sure what we can do as a group, but as an individual we conservatives are going to have to come out of our shells, away from our comfort zones, do things most have never done like picketing, being publicly combative. Those who can’t possibly do those things better hone their telephone and writing skills. Sounds like we’d all better start planning for the worst too. Stock up on guns, ammo, food, other goods. This could be a long bumpy ride.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 1:33 PM
LOL – “light the fuse and get away”.
Mine is “Fire, Ready, Aim”
We have to make sure it’s just the beginning.

Collectivist systems always crash. It’s just a question of how bad it gets before it falls apart. Imagine a graph with the declining electoral power of the shrinking productive class as one line, and the collapsing economy as another. Where those two lines meet, you have the crisis point. If they don’t meet before the political power of the productive class falls off the graph, the story ends very badly.
Things look grim from here, but I take some encouragement from the outraged response to rising gas prices last summer. The working middle class can become aroused rather quickly, when they feel the pinch directly in their pocket books. So far, the tragedy of Obamanomics has mostly been apparent to people paying close attention. To the average voter, it’s been a lot of talk about inconceivable amounts of money, which will appear out of thin air, and be spent on “stimulus” programs most people have never heard of. The average voter mostly knows what Brian Williams and Katie Couric tell him, so he knows the economy is bad in a vague, generalized way, even though he probably still has his own job, and his standard of living has not degenerated perceptibly; and a President of staggering intelligence and heroic moral character is working very hard to get the economy moving again.
When all that changes, and the middle class sees its standard of living detoriate in a tangible way, things could change, although it will still be very ugly. Much will depend on whether the working lower class can be persuaded to give up the wealth transfers it has received, and made to understand how the overall decline in their own standard of living is directly related to fascist economics. It requires real leadership to convince people to give up a tattered, fraying safety net for the promise of real success, but it doesn’t take much tangible economic damage in their daily lives to get their attention.
The political power of the Democrats was preserved by a timely reduction of gas prices in the fall of 2008; another twenty-five cents a gallon increase, and both congressional Democrats and Obama would have gone down in a sea of angry voters chanting “drill, baby, drill!” A twenty-percent tax hike on the middle class, along with economic collapse caused by top earners avoiding even more draconian tax hikes, will make them ready to hear what Republicans have to say. Even then, victory will not be assured, but at least the battle will be joined.
Doctor Zero on February 23, 2009 at 1:52 PM
normally I would agree, but with ACORN and the democRATs counting the votes….as stalin says, it only matters who counts the votes…
right4life on February 23, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Dude, it’s enough already?
No, it’s not enough. We need more people standing up like this. It’s our last line of defense since we do not have any checks and balances until, hopefully, 2010.
jjverdi on February 23, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Dude, it’s enough already.
Dear drone I mean Allahpundit,
What part of never give up and never surrender do you not get? This guy Santelli is a Patriot standing up to all the Loyalist err brown shirts. You should give Mr. Santelli a permanent soap box here and replay his comments 24/7/365. I believe repetition is the best way to advertise a message.
0321_GUY on February 23, 2009 at 3:02 PM
Dr Z, I appreciate your calm, reasoned response. It is reassuring to know that even though you believe it will get ugly as do I it won’t just end there.
My frustration level drives me to a kind of energized distraction (my productivity usually rises though) consequently there are times I’m ready to either fight like hell or quit in the same hour. Fighting like hell is my nature, and it inevitably wins.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 3:20 PM
No it’s not. Until that bailout is thrown away and forgotten, it’s never enough.
Maybe you don’t give a crap about paying Garcia’s mortgages, but I, a responsible renter do.
Houses for thee, not for me.
leetpriest on February 23, 2009 at 3:34 PM
I vote “no way” also. Santelli is so telling it straight that I had to look twice to verify it was CNBC and not Fox. If only the MSM had been half as honest during the election cycle (and previous 8 years) we wouldn’t be sliding into socialism as we are now.
IrishEyes on February 23, 2009 at 4:06 PM
Reiterating comment to Allah earlier – “Lead, follow or get out of the way”. The hook in your mouth is unbecoming.

Thanks to everybody who is praying for my fiance (not my husband). We haven’t been able to get married because we haven’t been able to be in the same zip code long enough to do so. But those prayers will do the trick! Again, my thanks.

Shoes will be donated to the Salvation Army after the event.
ATTENTION: KANSAS CITY TEA PARTY PROTESTERS
First I would like to thank you all for your support.
The purpose of this protest is against the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
or as I call it the CONGRESSIONAL THEFT ACT 2009.
Theme: “WALK A MILE IN MY RESPONSIBLE SHOES”
Stimulate the economy bring an extra pair of “Responsible Shoes” for Claires door step, the shoes will be donated to the Salvation Army after the event.
We are here to be heard but peaceful, so we must make specific points for this to be a successful event. I have chosen four points that I believe need to be made that will greatly affect us all in the future. If the media wants to interview you please stick to these talking points. We must present a united, professional, organized image or the media will make our image for us and it won’t be favorable.
(Any of your choice)
1. Broken Promises: The President and the leaders of the House and Senate have violated their solemn promises that the bill would be available for several days of public review prior to voting, so that the American people might have a chance to learn what is in the bill and to make their views known to their elected officials. Act responsibly and repeal the Congressional Theft Act of 2009 and let the American people voice their opinion before you vote or resign your position as our representatives.
2. Damages Our Founding Fathers Philosophies: Bailing out states that have spent irresponsibly by their elected officials at the expense of taxpayers in states that have been fiscally responsible.
3. Housing Bail Out: Those of us who both pay our mortgages and pay our taxes, while we are working hard and playing by the rules, there were a lot of irresponsible people spending more than they had and getting in way over their heads, and now those irresponsible people are having to be bailed out by the people that are responsible and playing by the rules.
4. Repeal Of Welfare To Work Program: Repeals the bipartisan and highly successful welfare reforms of 1996 and drastically expands the welfare state. It rewards states for adding people to their welfare rolls, rather than for helping them find gainful employment. Contrary to long-established practice, it will entitle able-bodied adults without children to receive cash assistance and encourages irresponsibility.
When you are making signs for this event please let them reflect these four talking points, the message is clear
Taking responsibility for yourself and expecting the same of your elected officials.
PLEASE DO NOT: Throw your trash on the ground and stay on public property we want this event to be clean and peaceful.

Add my prayers to the list!
Don’t say that too loud, or the next thing you know, Obama will be taking credit for the frustration-driven increase in productivity… I also expect he’ll be holding a Rose Garden ceremony to announce the surge in retail firearm and ammunition sales his administration has inspired…
Don’t be silly, my friend! We’re not sliding into socialism. We’re sliding into fascism. The difference is that socialists steal your wallet and shoot you if you resist, while fascists lock you in the basement as a slave and shoot you if you try to escape. Doesn’t that make you feel better?
Doctor Zero on February 23, 2009 at 4:47 PM
It’s not nearly enough yet. We need someone with a loud voice and his own platform enlightening the no-mind morons who elected Hussein into office. The sad thing is that no matter what we do they’re just going to ram it down our throats and there isn’t a darn thing we can do about it, except educate…
stacman on February 23, 2009 at 4:52 PM
DTMH announced he/she/it was going to leave the site a few days ago. But like its hero Obama, its promises are meaningless and subject to revocation at any time.
AZCoyote on February 23, 2009 at 4:56 PM
I actually like DTMH and getalife. I think they are wrong most of the time, but they tend to back up their rhetoric with facts while a lot of people railing against them just throw insults at Obama and/or them.
txaggie on February 23, 2009 at 5:08 PM
I so wish I could be there blind mule. I’ll pass this on everywhere possible. I hope your event is wildly successful. If there is any media coverage of it it’ll be on Fox.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 5:21 PM
LOL, sadly disgustingly true.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 5:24 PM
I’ll be praying for you and your fiance too baldilocks.
kooziegirl on February 23, 2009 at 5:28 PM
Obama and his commie cohorts in Congress have already stolen a huge train load of American taxpayer money to payoff the Democrat’s commie friends. All they are doing with this money is buying themselves more votes. They will keep it up and there will be no stopping them unless a lot more people starting telling it the way it is just like Santelli.
Maxx on February 23, 2009 at 5:55 PM
I’m just amazed that anyone who works for NBC dares to criticize Liberal PTBs…like the way journalists used to be once upon a time! I guess anyway…never actually seen it for myself.
Dr. ZhivBlago on February 23, 2009 at 6:00 PM
Why don’t you get a little backbone Allah and trying lending a little support to people like Santelli and Glenn Beck. If you can’t get on board with them, then why not at least try to be neutral? Beck and Santelli are ringing some alarm bells that need to be rang, and your smug comments with the implication that they are “off” or over the top are not helpful.
Maxx on February 23, 2009 at 6:05 PM
I think Allahpundit, somehow, has nothing to lose. No skin in the game, in other words.
Alana on February 23, 2009 at 6:16 PM
Ah, no skin in the game? Ah, Hello dronling, earth calling!!!! We all have skin in the game! All 300+ million of us have skin in the game, even generations not even born yet have skin in the game.
0321_GUY on February 23, 2009 at 6:37 PM
Yes, but he is so blase about it all. You know, like, dude, enough already. It makes me think he has little to lose.
Along the same lines, it kind of amuses me all the Democrats defending every boneheaded move Obama makes, when it is so obvious to me that what he is doing isn’t going to help them, either! And already hasn’t.
Unless they, too, have no skin in the game. No house, maybe; no investments, or no children to worry about, or just not much that they are unhappy to be losing.
Those of us who do have something to lose do, indeed, tend to get rather passionate about watching it happen. I say, if someone thinks I’m being too passionate about it, I suggest they redistribute their wealth to me right away, and then I’ll pipe down!
Alana on February 23, 2009 at 8:45 PM
These moronic brown shirts are too stupid to know what they are loosing. These idiots actually believe the lies they tell. They think they are doing something great for their padded room world but for us living in the fact-based world we are going to sink faster then Barneys Frank on a kids float toy.
It is not enough, it is never enough. If he is tired of hearing Rick Santelli then flip the channel. Ah as for the rest of us we’ll keep the rhetoric up untill such times the libs are defeated and smashed to smitherines.
0321_GUY on February 23, 2009 at 10:00 PM
Doctor Zero, Many great posts. Thanks.

Keep fighting the good fight!
It’s nowhere near enough!
