He says he’s not completely happy with Obama’s plans but he points out that he was able to cut the price tag by over $100 billion and he says he was able to increase the amount of tax cuts.

Specter does not realize that if he had voted against the bill, he would have cut the price tage by almost 8 times that amount.

If he (and Snowe and Collins) are allowed to stay, the GOP is too dead to revive, and we need to start over somehow else.

I understand your frustration with the man. He really let us down big time!

However, I want to win elections. We need to defeat these leftists that are in the process of taking over our country. We can scream about these issues here on Hot Air, where we talk to each other. But, we need to present to the voting public, that’s right Democrat and Independent voters, that the conservative Republican is not a fire-breathing, mad-as-a-hatter, extremist from the right.

Sen. Specter has served his country well, and has fought a brave battle with cancer, so for us to come out to one of his press conferences with signs asking for his head, and rude interruptions during his speech is playing right into the hands of our enemies; and I definitely consider the liberal democrat our enemy!

We need to win the hearts and minds of our fellow Americans who have not had a fair hearing of our message in the left-wing media. Enraged faces and angry confrontations is not the picture we want the rest of America to see.
We want to be the direct opposite of the liberal Democrat, not his equal with just a different message.

I’ll vote Republican – they’re earning it again. I won’t vote for these three and I’ll also send Michael Steele a note telling him he won’t get $$ from me if he gives any of it to these three.

I think Steele will do the right thing – he may not oppose these three – but I think he’ll tell them they are on their own. Write Michael Steele and ask him for assurances that your contributions to the GOP WILL NOT GO TO THE THREE TRAITORS!

Just over the border in Westmoreland :) I work in downtown Pgh. Far lower property taxes than Allegheny.

The wife and I have a bunch of friends in Butler. I like it there.

Maybe without Bush we’ll get Pat Toomey or another conservative in this time around.

Do you think if we grovelled convincingly enough, we could get John McCain to run again in 2012? I’m sure he would win without some stupid conservative know nothing on his ticket. We could have THE MAVERICK TICKET. McCain/Specter 2012. That’s a tent big enough to drop an asteroid in. We’re sure to win.

Yep, its between New Castle and Pittsburgh just off of I-79, nice community. By the way, KDKA radio (in Pittsburgh) was the very first commercial radio station in the country. In the old days, it was part of “Group W Broadcasting” when the old Westinghouse owned a ton of radio stations.

I take this to mean that the $288 billion in “Tax Relief” should be discounted by these offsets, leaving $165 billion of highly targeted tax relief… and much of that relief for those who do not pay taxes… which I consider a spending program, not tax relief. And much will go to the big tax and spend blue states in the form of AMT relief.
