The Democratic party has done an amazing job of using the bogeyman of closet racists to scare black people and other minorities away from the Party of Lincoln (founded by abolitionists) and right into the hands of the party that founded the KKK to make sure “undesirables” wouldn’t vote in elections.

Unfortunately, because the Republican party has been hopeless the past 60 years when it comes to marketing themselves, they have not been able to get rid of the lies the opposition has slandered them with in spite of the fact that their policies (e.g. school choice) would do far more to benefit minority communities than any snake oil the Democrats are selling.

So, what would you have us do? Kidnap black people and force them to be Republicans so we can have the right numerical mixture for folks like you? Or, should we continue working to reach out to members of minority communities (hopefully a lot more skillfully than we’ve been doing) and allow people of all colors to make up their own minds which party to join.

We you compare the small percentage of black people that are actually Republicans with the number of black Republicans that have been in leadership roles (Sec State, Sec Ed, Joint Chiefs, Pres RNC, etc) it would appear that there is statistically more opportunity for black people in the Republican party than in the Democrat party. All that’s required is an ability to see beyond Democrat lies and the stiff spine required to deal with being called “Uncle Tom” by prominent Democrats and media commentators and the ability to laugh it off when people throw oreos at you.

The picture of Obama and Sebelius… what/who the hell are they pointing at?

They’re hardly the first politicians to point into the crowd, but what’s that about? I’m sure they want to make the audience feel connected, but they’re probably pointing at a light fixture or a doorway.

Perhaps the best forum to ask that question would be a meeting of black Republican members of Congress.

I doubt it. Partial birth abortion is illegal in the United States. The law banning it was enacted with overturn-proof bipartisan support. It’s been a phoney issue all along, and it’s time to give it a rest.
