Quote of the day

posted at 10:35 pm on February 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

“Atheists claim to value reason above blind faith and individuality above the lock-step certitude of religion. My own rejection of faith, I hoped, would allow me to indulge in wicked thoughts and pork-based dishes. I hoped I could, forever, avoid hallelujah get-togethers, groupthinky organizations and constraining labels.

Yet, these days, atheists are organized. They’re activists. They will probably sue you. They have become exasperatingly earnest, hopelessly serious and unnecessarily pushy.

They have, in other words, become as tedious as Joel Osteen. And there are few greater sins.”

Ah the dirty little secret is that Allapundit is not a true atheist. They can be just as nominal as the average Christian or Jew who only attends church or synagogue once a month. Every self-proclaimed atheist I have seen subconsciously holds on to a set of Judeo-Christian values. Friedrich Nietzsche was a true atheist and he lived accordingly. If you were a true atheist, you could not call terrorism evil because as Nietzsche pointed out there’s no such thing as evil. Good and evil are merely and invention of the lower classes.

The vast majority of Americans do believe in God. A poll by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life last year found 71 percent of adults are absolutely certain God (or something similar) exists. Another 17 percent claim they are fairly certain. Only 5 percent are non-believers.

Real Atheists=not much of a threat.
Organized, tax funded, Agnostics Civil wRong Union=serious threat to all that creates the American experience.

Last year, for instance, atheists — along with humanists, secularists and gaggle of other “ists” — gathered in dozens of cities to celebrate a holiday called HumanLight. The festivity, according to the organizers, envisions “a future in which all people can identify with each other, behave with the highest moral standards, and work together toward a happy, just and peaceful world.”

Christianity is the best available morals system, personal behavior and quality of life through creativity is advanced.

However Christianity isn’t the only advanced morals system to have ever existed.
Can Humanism develop a structure that promotes the best morals or does a permanent system require Religious faith?

radiofreevillage on February 18, 2009 at 11:51 PM

Pretty much proves that atheists have their own brand of religion based on faith, so to speak, and rail on with their Book of Nothing. No hope. No meaning. Might as well put a gun to your head and get over with since you won’t remember or feel anything afterwards. *POOF* Just simply staying alive is hypocritical when afterwards you won’t remember anything. So, why bother living? In the end you just…disappear into nothingness. Why bother making friends? Have a girlfriend/boyfriend. Have kids? Have fun with your Dad as a kid? And so on. Memories are not worth keeping if you’re to disappear into nothing with no hope in sight afterwards and not ever remember anything because you cease to exist because you believe in no soul and no hope.

Basically, if you stay away from the blogs that are supported by Pajama’s Media/PJTV, you will avoid the rampant Atheism and apparently concerted effort of late to push the abandonment of God and our Savior Jesus Christ from our minds and our lives, as well as the public-airing-of-dirty-laundry blogger vs blogger tiffs, squabbles, and Jerry Springeresque Drama that is prevelant on a couple of other sites of our ilk as well.

…if that’s what you’re essentially referring to when you say ‘dark times’. i’m assuming that is your reference because it is indeed dark times in those respects.

Christianity is the best available morals system

There’s really quite a number of moral systems superior to the one involving a Good that makes mothers cook and eat their children.

I got the quote (I’m a huge Beatles fan) just not the humor. Sorry, no biggie.

NP.

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure what to recommend. Esp. if you are looking for engaging comment sections. I haven’t really put my toe in the water at Ace’s HQ.

You can always just use StumbleUpon and thumb down pro-liberal sites and post snarky comments in the review. (It helps me pass the time) ;)
