Video: Ruinous stimulus bill becomes ruinous stimulus law

Nothing too exciting, but moments in American history as glorious as this deserve to be shared. Note his reminder halfway through the first clip that this is just the first bite of the crap sandwich we’ll have to ingest. He’s not kidding, people.

Ahead of Obama’s arrival in Colorado, the White House went live with a Web site, www.recovery.gov, that will allow people to track where the money is being spent. The White House press office also promoted the projected job growth for each state and congressional district.

Aboard Air Force One en route here, presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters the White House was open-minded about another similar effort. But he stressed that there are no plans currently in the works for one.

The website is thin on details and will remain so until money starts flowing, but here’s a nice, graphically gratuitous snapshot of where the cash is supposed to be going. Exit question: “Protecting the Vulnerable”?

You and I are definitely on the same frequency.

The government has just expanded. Most of those “short term” government jobs will be permanent.

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:05 PM

WTH is he smiling about?

I was wondering the same thing. Is he on drugs or just plain stupid?

pastorjim67 on February 17, 2009 at 6:05 PM

progressoverpeace on February 17, 2009 at 6:05 PM

Ha. Makes me feel smarter and not surprising since I agree with most of your thoughts.

…And the proverbial boiling of the frog continues.

Corky on February 17, 2009 at 6:08 PM

Posing, strutting, grinning, scowling, fibbing, snickering…

Strutting,posing,grinning,scowling,
fibbing and snickering his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.”

fixed

GM is just announcing their plan to profitability. Surprise, surprise….they expect to be profitable in 2012…just in time for elections.

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:11 PM

And still no new agreement with the UAW.

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:11 PM

What a cute little grin Chimpy Obastard has on his face as he begins the destruction of America in the name of economic ” justice” . Our forefathers are weeping in the afterlife.

DeweyWins on February 17, 2009 at 6:18 PM

Big deal, so the chosen one has signed a bill to sell out even more of the following generations future, guess we should say, “thanks kids!”
Enjoy the poverty, too bad your parents were idiots.
Of course if there were no future generations, we wouldn’t need to pay them back…..

G-man on February 17, 2009 at 6:19 PM

All that matters is that Henrietta Jones and her loser son and Julio the McDonald’s employee have cradle-to-grave benefits–healthcare, education, food stamps, shelter, generous pension–the works.

All in recognition of their years of service to whatever.

BuckeyeSam on February 17, 2009 at 6:22 PM

BuckeyeSam on February 17, 2009 at 6:22 PM

We are building a new kind of mill village and the occupants will become economic slaves.

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:24 PM

It’s more than that. It’s the rest of the 50 billion if I am not mistaken.

Brat4life on February 17, 2009 at 5:09 PM

Anyone else see the UAW buffoon on Cavuto today? “We aren’t going to compromise and why should we give up anything?” I think even Neil was throwing up in his mouth.

anniekc on February 17, 2009 at 6:25 PM

I guess pointless trips on large jets are only objectionable when the traveler is in the private sector. Plans for a “Central Committee” are certainly in draft form.

MajorKong on February 17, 2009 at 6:28 PM

I am going to use my $8-13 bucks each week to fatten myself up so I have some reserves to pull from – got to be ready for the bread lines….

Ris4victory on February 17, 2009 at 6:32 PM

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:24 PM

I see four tiers. The first will consist of the ultra-wealthy (think Soros and the Kennedys). The second will consist of the government intelligentsia and bureaucracy. The third will consist of those in an ever-decreasing producer class. This third tier will consist of the real slaves. The fourth will consist of those in a permanent free-loading class. They’ll be slaves in a certain respect, but they won’t care because they’ll be getting something for nothing, which will be more appealing than actually having to work–think Henrietta Jones and too many other Obama supporters.

anniekc on February 17, 2009 at 6:25 PM

Yes. Sorry union members on the thread, but seeing that buffoon reminds me why the UAW clutches so dearly to the legacy costs associated with healthcare. That fat ass has done nothing in 30 years to take responsibility for his own health. I lost count of his chins.

BuckeyeSam on February 17, 2009 at 6:36 PM

BuckeyeSam on February 17, 2009 at 6:33 PM

No disagreements from me. I grew up n the South and still see the remnants of mill villages with a company store. There a worker could get credit for nearly everything, food, clothes, etc. But the terms were such that, as the song goes, “they owed their soul to the company soul.” I said the occupants as a warming to all who fall into your bottom tiers.

genso on February 17, 2009 at 6:38 PM

BuckeyeSam is forgetting the subtier under the first and second. They will be the hangers on who thrive from being in orbit with the bureacracy and ultrawealthy, always acting as an echo chamber and reinforcing their superior ideas. We’ll call it the Katie Couric tier.

MajorKong on February 17, 2009 at 6:38 PM

Under the cover of Porkulus, Little Barry, approves 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan, some new and some reassigned from Iraq. Where will this money come from?

As I have predicted over the past year, we will see another attempt at reactivating the military draft. Who will enlist or re-enlist with a commander-in-chief who has exhibited the disdain this man has for our military?

How do you like him now?

diogenes on February 17, 2009 at 6:44 PM

Obama is no more than the Front Man for a huge left wing conspiracy.

marklmail on February 17, 2009 at 5:42 PM

That he is. And the left-wing conspiracy thing, it has a name: Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

Google it and weep.

RepubChica on February 17, 2009 at 6:48 PM

“GM seeks up to $30B in aid, to cut 47,000 jobs (AP)”

It sounds like the porkulus bill is off to a great start…more money-less jobs.

Idiots!

orlandocajun on February 17, 2009 at 6:51 PM

Imagine this scenario. A world wide recession worsening daily and we elect a man to turn it around whose only known talent is talking. That couldn’t happen in the real world, could it?

jeanie on February 17, 2009 at 7:02 PM

Exit question: “Protecting the Vulnerable Stupid”?

Entelechy on February 17, 2009 at 7:02 PM

orlandocajun

Indeed. And now with no UAW concessions.

I think GM is aiming too low. They should ask for $100 billion. That seems like a smaller number after porkulus.

MajorKong on February 17, 2009 at 7:02 PM

Why does the first page have the subtitle “America’s problems: Over.” when you make it clear on the inside that Obama is considering more stimulus? Obama himself said that this is the beginning of the end, not the end of it. You should really change the subtitle.

orange on February 17, 2009 at 7:03 PM

Have no fear, in the hands of this great man, we’ll ALL be the vulnerable before long.

jeanie on February 17, 2009 at 7:09 PM

What’s with all the pen changes? He planning on selling them all on eBay to his adoring masses?

ExSubNuke on February 17, 2009 at 7:29 PM

Wonder if he read the bill…..

Rockygold on February 17, 2009 at 7:31 PM

7/4/2009?

RightWinged on February 17, 2009 at 7:39 PM

no one read the bill…

pebbles on February 17, 2009 at 7:57 PM

My smart sis, who has a way with words came up with a new term for the stimulus package:

The Strangulus Package.

’nuff said.

mubando on February 17, 2009 at 7:58 PM

This Porkulus bill could also be called ‘Most Expensive Campaign Payback’ bill. Investment in Wall Street don’t pay off these days, but I’m sure we’ll see lots of big donors benefiting big time thanks to this spending. For an investment short of 1 billion dollars, they get close to 800 billion dollars in return. Obama is the best IPO ever! He’s the ultimate defensive investment: the more the economy tanks, the more money will those liberals who invested in him make!

So, I don’t buy that it was a mistake for Obama to let Pelosi and Reid draft the bill. They just gave him cover so that he could repay what he owed his donors (and more to make sure they’ll keep on giving for next time).
Mission accomplished, Mr President!

FrenchguyinTaiwan on February 17, 2009 at 8:00 PM

We don’t have to move just change the name of our country to Sweden

Brat4life on February 17, 2009 at 8:10 PM

FrenchguyinTaiwan on February 17, 2009 at 8:00 PM

Hello Fa Quo Ren,

The Messiah had Pelosi and maybe Reid draft the bill because he doesn’t have experience or staff with experience doing such things. For somebody who is so intellectually weak, inexperienced and clueless about history, he pushed his marxist agenda forward and thus weakened the country. Now, what do we do about this?

I have some ideas. What do you think?

BottomLine5 on February 17, 2009 at 8:21 PM

My America is dead…may she rest in pieces.

Not much you can do until the next election. He won, as he now famously said. All we can do is rant and find better ideas. If you have any to share, go ahead.

FrenchguyinTaiwan on February 17, 2009 at 8:48 PM

GREAT NEWS!!

After President Government signed the bill, i finally was able to quit my job!

I will be getting my welfare payments soon, and I have tentative plans of attending the next Obama rally and lobbying for a new kitchen.

I am upside down on my mortgage through no fault of my own. I can comfortable afford my mortgage payment, but why bother? If I miss a few payments, the politburo will force the banks to adjust the terms of my loan, and reduce the principal! Woohoo!

Pay up, all you sucker capitalists! If you can’t beat’em, join’em! Time to suck on the government teat!

There’s always 2010 when we can go all Gingrich on him.

arrogant a**. “I won” enjoy ruinging this country.

Milhouse on February 17, 2009 at 9:35 PM

Oh! This bill we call Porkulus
Is supposed to be, for the economy, a stimulus
But what is in this bill
Is a great secret on the hill
And leaves us all wondering and Cluelus

OneConservative on February 17, 2009 at 9:35 PM

What, was he using a different pen for every letter of his name? What’s that about?

HYTEAndy on February 17, 2009 at 10:22 PM

The sh*t eating grin is the first thing that caught my eye. Glad he’s enjoying this. Also glad to see that propoganda chief Robert Goebbels is prepping the press for the next “rescue package.” It will keep going and going…

change is for suckers on February 17, 2009 at 10:46 PM

My guess is that the pens will be given to loyal backers as souvenirs. Or they’ll go straight to the Obama Library so that future can see the pen that signed the most expensive legislation of all times.

FrenchguyinTaiwan on February 17, 2009 at 10:54 PM

Transparency looks an awful lot like my kindergartener’s homework: how many blue circles?; what color is the biggest circle?; the littlest? Do they have children developing these graphics, or do the people who believe them have the mentality of a child? Frankly, my kids aren’t that dumb.

Like i said
an empty suit occupied by a do nothing laywer

Didn’t realize he was left-handed. That helps explain a lot.

misslizzi on February 18, 2009 at 3:41 AM

I waited all evening for the rainbow-colored unicorn to arrive so I could ride it to the money tree. Damn thing never showed up. What gives?

Is Ogabe a southpaw? I remember a sign I saw once that said “Hire the left-handed. It’s fun to watch them write”.
The drawing on the sign was priceless.
