Video: Palin tells Obama to veto bill he dragged out of Congress

Sarah Palin’s advice on Porkulus will evoke laughter in the White House that pushed it through Congress, but perhaps someone there has begun listening to her on energy. Palin says Barack Obama has started coming around on the natural-gas pipeline, but may need a little more convincing on enabling increased production on the clean-burning fuel. Palin doesn’t wait for Greta to ask before getting in an argument against the Fairness Doctrine, near the end (via Conservatives for Palin):
PALIN: Hey, Greta, another thing though that I would add too is that it’s not just the stimulus package that we need to keep our eyes and ears open about right now in America. But it’s this Fairness Doctrine — it’s these attempts in Congress that are being discussed at this point to shut down voices that are asking the tough questions. … If there’s any attempt to quash any of these voices, that’s a scary thing for our country and our democracy.
The challenge to Obama to veto his own economic policy is a little silly, even though it deserves to be vetoed, burnt, pulverized, and flushed. Obama got exactly what he wanted and has no reason at all to veto it. Had he been displeased with the product, Obama would have held a much different press conference a week ago. Opposing the bill on its merits is good, but demanding a veto doesn’t do much for Palin’s credibility.
Palin does much better on the Fairness Doctrine. She put it in exactly the right terms, which the American public will understand as not “fair” at all but an attempt to silence criticism.

She said “I wish he’d veto it,” not “I call on him to veto it,” or even “I think he should veto it.” She was speaking about what she’d like to see in an ideal situation–expressing what ought to be (and why), not proposing an action item. Knock it off, nudnik.

Not all those poor asses demanded it, and I’m sure there were some outside the state of Alaska who got a chunk as well.

Sarah is clearly Obama’s nemesis and gets under his skin like nobody else can.

cutoff was above that. You got some of my money.

Why not? Helps simplify things. Now everything is politics when you assume the government owns these things.
Libertarian Joseph on February 18, 2009 at 12:30 AM
Obama has two choices: sign it or veto it. You think she should have called on him to sign it? Confused.

You forget to mention Zero was the only President of the Harvard Law Review who was never published. They selected Obama for the same reason you voted for Him – LIBERAL WHITE GUILT

I really wished she would be the new RNC chair. She needs a way to get her voice out there on every move little hussein makes.

I work 12.5 hr shifts 7 days a week and I’m so grateful the most merciful Obama has generously taken my money and donated to such a deserving group such as ACORN.
A Collection Of Retarded Nincompoops.
or 150 million for bee insurance.
Question? Do either of these create or save jobs? Just wonderin’.
IS 7 YEARS UP YET?

To use the example of ANWR, the government does own (or manage, control, or whatever euphemism you wish to use) the land. For those advocating direct negotiation between energy companies and landowners, please tell me what your strategy would be to get drilling companies on governmentally “managed” property without jumping through govt. hoops.
Anyone?

I heart this woman! She can run in any party she wants and she is my candidate for POTUS!

Just think for one minute if Obama had vetoed the legislation how the world would be different right now. For one day he would have been vastly more popular than the 3 RINO’s who voted to turn America into a socialist nation and he would have ensured his re-election in 2012.
Sarah took a huge gamble and won. She fully understood that the intractable nature of Obama’s oversized ego and his stated socialist agenda would prevent him from complying to her wishes.
Sarah rose to the occasion and drew a line in the sand. Millions of conservatives will remember where she stood on the stimulus bill and will rally to her cause. The proof is in the pudding.

Being the fact I am from Alaska and the fact I have been against BOTH Stimulus deals and Alaska actually supports itself. I would love how you got any information concerning Alaska and how we are “freeloading”?
I see Murtha has taken as much if not more then the people who live in MY State.
Maybe you should research before opening up that thing your call a pie hole. You obviously have no clue as to what you are talking about.

Since ANWR is now and will be forever, a Federal National Park. We are never going to drill in ANWR. Thank your Senate and Congress for that.

Palin sure make more sense than Obama. He is a complete disaster after three weeks. Not that it is any suprise. You “hope and change” voters should have stayed home.

With Ogabe and Holder the “understanding” must come from one group (two guesses which group and the first guess doesn’t count). Perpetual victimhood…who wouldn’t want that?!

Gee! I bet’cha she knew that already but I bet’cha she’s happy you pointed that out to the rest of us who couldn’t figure it out on our own. GO SARAH, you da one, girl!

“Opposing the (stimulus) bill on its merits is good, but demanding a veto doesn’t do much for Palin’s credibility.”
Ed, you have never been so wrong in your life.
You have to put Sarah’s comment in context. Just 72 hours before 3 RINO”s had caved in and given Obama the keys to the ’stimulus’ car leaving all Republicans dispirited or extremely angry. Over the weekend this even intensified as evidenced by the comments heard on Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity’s program on Monday.
If any prominent Republican had called for Obama to reconsider his support of the stimulus bill and veto the bill I would have been one of the first to congratulate him or her. As far as I know nobody of the ilk in the lower 48 echoed this sentiment. I believe if anybody but Sarah did we would have heard about it by now in the MSM to upstage Sarah.
So Sarah comes out with a viewpoint that I believe echoes the greatest majority sentiment of the base and Ed has the nerve to say that Sarah jeopardized her ‘credibility’. With who Ed: Obama and his merry men and women, with the MSM, with elitists, with smug pundits, with RINO’s-Ed if that is who you are referring to I might agree but I really believe you are trying to imply that Sarah has hurt herself with the base or independent conservatives. Balderdash, Ed.
Sarah Palin had the guts to say what so many other prominent people should have said or the majority of the base were thinking. If anything this enhanced Sarah’s credibility.
As I wrote earlier Sarah drew a line in the sand and forced Obama to take ownership of the stimulus package by signing the bill.
What you call ‘ not doing much for Palin’s credibility’ I believe was a masterstroke, a tour de force, that superstars are able to deliver what most journeymen cannot even conceive. It will endear Sarah even more.
Timing is everything in politics. Sarah delivered on cue.
Not seeing that Ed makes me think that you had a bad day. because usually you are much more cogent on other topics.
