Video: Megyn Kelly outrageously outraged at PETA’s lesbian ad
posted at 5:35 pm on February 17, 2009 by Allahpundit
I’ve watched this three times and still can’t pinpoint what her problem is. That it’s titillating? That it’s same-sex (which is surely what’s offending some of the complaining viewers)? That PETA thinks vegetarians are sexy and meat-eaters are the “scum of the earth”? The critique seems to shift minute by minute — but no matter. She’s developed such a knack for the righteously indignant, needlessly combative interview that I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t have her own show by the end of the year. Maybe the 3 p.m. slot in lieu of Shep or the 10 p.m. in lieu of Greta? Whichever it is, she should follow Olby’s lead and book nothing but liberals, the loonier the better so that we’re assured plenty of verbal grenade-tossing. Imagine an hour each day of Killer here throwing roundhouses at whatever target Fox places in front of her. Awesome.

Anybody who can’t see the moral difference between scantily clad lesbians making out in public, and an attractive newslady wearing a relatively modest garment on the set, isn’t really looking with an objective mindset.
As to the “critique seems to shift,” I only watched the clip once but my takeway is that she was following the points her guest was making (e.g., impotence- “why two women? Impotence doesn’t affect them!) and became mildly perturbed at the lack of response. She also let the guest make some fairly long monologues a couple of times before interrupting her. Not an over-the-top performance, IMO.

Beta Male blogger jealous of Fox News babe’s ability to draw audience!
SHOCKA!!!
SuperCool on February 17, 2009 at 10:13 PM
Men often compromise on issues for the woman who is “giving a little ass” as you say. The PETA folks are kidding themselves that visual ass is something that goes very far. Picking up our socks for our wife/girlfriend is one thing, but giving up meat for some soft-core TV lesbian acts? Don’t see it happening.

MK nailed her liberal moonbat ass right to the wall!
Hahaha.
Listening to that idiot talk made me want to go torture a turkey.

I am going out to the grocery store now and buying a few cans of sardines to scarf down later tonight.
Mmmmmm mustard sardines!
Take that PETA!!!!

Don’t you love it when libs whose entire identities are shaped by their militancy about some pet cause tell you that you need to “lighten up”? Makes you want to punch a chicken.
LibTired on February 17, 2009 at 10:45 PM
For a former beauty queen, she sure has some insecurity hang-ups about other women
But at least she was only upset that it wasn’t a man and a women getting it awwwn. Graaaaaaaaaagh!
Reaps on February 17, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Agreed, this was the explanatory factor (at least in what I saw, or thought I saw :-). The guest was being pressed to identify a meaningful connection (i.e., between the publicity stunt and the group’s “message”) where there was none, and so the guest spent the whole time alternatively pointing this out and sneaking portions of her sales pitch onto the air.
Yum – sounds almost as good as sardines in oil. (Or have I been missing out?)

Going vegan is saving the environment?
Grafted on February 17, 2009 at 11:55 PM
Yeah, and she does a good job of it too. Funny too in the sense that she is outraged about gratuitous skin but is willing to show a good bit of her own. (sigh). But there is a big difference between looking sexy and acting sexually so I’ll happily concede her point.

PETA= People Eating Tasty Animals. Really, what does two ladies (term used with laugh) sucking face have to do with treating critters better?
Dave M on February 18, 2009 at 12:23 AM
These two girls were obviously protecting a threatened bunch of arugula by clasping it safely between their locked lips.
BTW~ Hitler was a vegetarian.
PETA forgot that ad campaign.
It clearly calmed him down.

Megyn Kelly is beautiful, Allah, no doubt about that but I don’t recall the woman doing her duties as an anchor in a bikini during sweeps week. She isn’t selling sex, she’s doing her job. With the exception of Allen Colmes and some over the hill newsmen, male anchors are equally as attractive to their female audience. PETA is blatantly trying to get men to stop eating meat by using sex. The difference in what MK is doing and PETA is doing is night and day. Get your head out of your fourth point of contact!
rmel80 on February 18, 2009 at 3:04 AM
I guess if everything follows the natural progression, next year we will see two completely naked women… I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.
elifino on February 18, 2009 at 5:25 AM
Megyn’s hot.
AP is not.
And lesbos stir

SKYFOX on February 18, 2009 at 6:39 AM
I thought ultra-liberals, ultra-feminists despised any form of sexual exploitation of young women, especially ‘lipstick lesbianism’ for the sole purpose of titillating men. Where is the outrage from the feministas?
There has always been a cult-like, bdsm-flavored sexual undercurrent around PETA … particularly in the exploitation of 20-something women. I remember a PETA stunt where a bikini clad college-age woman, wearing kitten makeup, was ‘caged’ on the street by another coed. Ditto the rejected Super Bowl ad with Victoria-Secret-esque models pantomiming sex with vegatables. This stunt is in the same mode … matching red bikinis … gloves? You can’t even get that quality on dvd quality live feeds from San Francisco!
One wonders if the head of PETA isn’t some [dare i say it?] beta-male perv who is running the organization like some cultlike lothario … one should check and see how many “special assistants” he has. Or … even worse … it’s a man or woman who knows just what beta males like (“I know what boys want, I know what guys like …”)
Does it matter? Nah. PETA is at its core a misanthropic organization. A PETA person hates their fellow man and, as a result, elevates animals to a moral plane where he/she feels humankind can never ascend. Someone with the true interests of animals should support ASPCA or local shelters (particularly in Virginia, where PETA shelters were alleged to have destroyed the vast majority of their animals, compared to the ASPCA shelter which adopted the majority out).
Confidential to Allah … if it had been two Valley muscle guys lotioning it up, would you still fail to see the big deal? Would Megyn be going over board then? Hmmmmm ….
tryptic on February 18, 2009 at 7:18 AM
Anyone has only to listen to a couple minutes of this space cadet Megyn Kelly is interviewing before they come to the realization that PETA is made up entirely of warped-out wacky slappy veggie-worshiping moonbat loons who don’t perceive reality the way normal people do.
Maybe the only reason they decided to do this latest exercise in insanity ad campaign of theirs is because their equally loopy spokesperson, Pam Anderson, wasn’t available to do another nude shoot for them.
pilamaye on February 18, 2009 at 7:43 AM
Now let me be a “thinker” for juuuuuuuuuuuuust a moment. Appeal to base instinct in an animal, especially carnivores, you’ll get the opposite result in what they wish to achieve.

Is everything in America designed for 12 y/o boys hitting their stride? We wonder why things are so bad in America. Look at the old TV shows… Never saw this crap, we saw FAMILIES and values and America… Now we see sluts-on-parade and people on a so-called Conservative site defend it… No wonder the Republican party is dead and the radical left wins everything. We seem to have no pricipals, no morals, no values… We seem to not care what we AND OUR KIDS see on TV, on any channel, at any time… Yes, it is the parents responsibility to police what our kids see, but for a radical group like PETA to openly flaunt a gay lifestlye as acceptable is another sign of the death of America as we have known her… Political Correctness and an “anything goes” attitude have corrupted the Republican party also, as represented by many of the posts here… It’s no wonder Conservatives have been sitting out elections when basic decency in now frowned upon by even “so called” Conservatives.

megan should have asked her where her eyes are located on her skull.in nature mammels who are preditors have eyes in the front of their skull[meat eaters]and vegans whoops I mean plant eaters have their eyes on the side of their head so they can look out for the meat eaters.looks like mother nature trumps the vegan crowd.

I think a trained monkey would be an improvement on Shepard Smith. Probably better ratings as well.
Vashta.Nerada on February 18, 2009 at 9:39 AM
The guys who put PETA’s female cannibalism ad campaigns together aren’t looking for the same kind of “dates” Allah is pining for.
Think about it: why wouldn’t misogynists and misanthrops work together? They have fifty percent in common with each other.

Go-get-em-Megyn. If any person news person can put these irrelevant idiots in line, it’s Megyn Kelly.
byteshredder on February 18, 2009 at 10:45 AM
Sick and tired of the “Vegetarian diet is better for you” meme, when it is patetnly false, given that you have to consume copious amounts of supplements to replace the things lost in your diet, and required by your body, when you do not eat meat.
Kind of makes sense, tho, since the evolutionists say that the reason man’s brain began enlarging and becoming more complex was the consumption of meat in the first place.
PJ Emeritus on February 18, 2009 at 11:18 AM
The fact that Fox News spent 5 or 6 minutes talking about the PETA add answers the “is this ad effective question” pretty clearly I think. PETA is very good at what they do. BTW, just about every other animal rights group has major problems with these sorts of campaigns.
Hey, Mark Garnett, you need to remove that very large stick from your ass. You sound like a sanctimonious tool.

PETA understands its audience, which does not include social conservatives and rational people in general. Lesbians represent a victim group. Animals are victims, too. Victims deserve sympathetic feelings and special consideration. (Then throw in a little gratuitous homosex to initially attract attention, which it did.) How could a connection be more obvious? Heh.
OzzieMan on February 18, 2009 at 11:51 AM
hey, how about next time they use the animals they love? that’d be ok too huh? hey, then they can get kids into the act! PETA’s always trying to get to our kids….animals, kids…the new progressive family hour!
Seriously…
America is doomed.
OwlorNothing on February 18, 2009 at 12:17 PM
I haven’t read any of the comments so far, but for my .02, I think the biggest problem, at least for me, would have been…as discussed…walking down the street with my children and coming upon that. This is not the sort of thing I would want them to see. I’m not overly opposed to “titilating” advertising, as it really does work to an extent, but let’s keep it in a spot where children won’t be exposed to it. After all, TV programs come with ratings so we can choose, based on that, what our children watch or do not watch…what good does that do when you have two “actresses” making out in the street for all to see? (Yes, I know this could happen anyway with real lesbians, but I’m willing to bet that 9 times out of 10 they don’t try to make that sort of spectacle during daylight hours when my kids and I might be out and about).

I’m with you Shep, I’m a little sick and tired of this meme that all men really think lesbians are HAWT! To me it’s a bit revolting…not as disgusting to my sensibilities as queer men having “sex”, but disgusting nonethelesss…
BS…. and that sanctimoniuos PETA prig is clearly a man-hating carpet muncher…biy did she get off on revealing here little secret about men’s impotence…

PETA sucks!

This topic reminds me of the infamous Bill O’Reilly/Laura Ingraham shoutdown. As we all know, O’Reilly likes to run provocative pictures or videos of women in various stages of undress and with his straight face attempts to discuss the topical news surrounding it. Mind you, he is just an investigative journalist trying to inform the folks. He does this alot with his internet contributors like Amanda Carpenter or formerly with M.K. Ham. Ingraham once called him out on it. I think she didn’t come back to his show for an extended period of time. Very funny video of it:

I guess being a vegetarian makes you gay.
Gay is gay-woman on woman or man on man.I thank God my husband doesn’t get off on that crap.
And yes he’s a real man, with morals.
But on the other hand folks, lesbianism-vegetarianism greatly cuts down on their reproductive efforts.
So the group will only grow through converts.
BTW-why is it never contemplated that vegetables may find all this attention abusive?
Perhaps bananas & cucumbers do not like being used as sexual objects. Hmmm?

She is a fabulous opening act.
Ten minutes of watching MeGYN’s hawt feistiness on the boob (!) tube, and the husband at my house is GOOOOD TO GOooooo…..

I love Megyn! I did watch their superbowl ad and then it immediately went into the animal killing stuff, however, I still eat meat! People are getting their heads cut of by muslims and these morons are more interested in saving animals!
They may be 10% leaner, however, they’re 20% dumber. Scientists tell us that meat eating was essential for human evolution.

Yeesh! Women are our own worst enemy sometimes! Apparently it’s ok to objectify women or use sex to sell a point. So this woman says it was to get the attention of men. So apparently she thinks poorly of men, that you can’t talk to them unless you trick them with sex – preferrably girl on girl sex.
jusgottabeme on February 19, 2009 at 1:13 AM

Bijou Phillips abandons the vegan lifestyle.
And there are already nutroots out there saying if she had only eaten the ‘right’ vegan diet, she would never have gotten sick.
Get real people-eating meat is GOOD for you. That is why you are an OMNIVORE.
Meat-free diets can be responsible for:
birth defects
malnutrition
other health risks
This is due to the absence of the essential amino acids the body needs to make proteins.
For God’s sake meat is ok to eat. It’s in our physiology to eat meat.
Check out your teeth. You are made to eat plants & MEAT.
