The obligatory “Time names the top 25 blogs” post
posted at 2:05 pm on February 17, 2009 by Allahpundit
Commenters in Headlines are miffed that no conservative sites were included this year. Huh? Sullivan’s right here.
Seriously, though, any list with Lileks on it — and dKos in the overrated file — can’t be all bad. My feeling here is the same as my feeling about Shuster’s new nightly “over to you, nutroots” segment: Why shouldn’t a lefty outlet skew towards lefty blogs? Tossing in a righty site in a conspicuous act of tokenism wouldn’t please anyone. And in fairness, TPM and HuffPo are defensible picks not only for their influence within big media but because they emphasize original reporting, a rarity among megasites on our side.
Still, though — no blogger embeds? Yon? Totten? Roggio? Hello?

It’s not that dKos isn’t overrated (it is), it just can’t possibly live up to all the hype about it.
CalculatedRisk’s Doris Dungey (aka “Tanta”) is the best blogger I’ve read. Her death is a true loss.

I can’t believe the media hopped down from Chavez’s and Obama’s shoulder long enough to write this pap.

Ace made it last year, Time described him as “the conservative answer to the Daily Kos”, which isn’t true at all.

HuffPo has more hacks than anyone. HuffPo friends must work for Time.
Kos has written for Newsweek, which maybe explains the thumbs down. He sent a bunch of Kos people to vote the site up and then says “Their own readers disagree, so yeah, yet another example of the disconnect between the traditional media and their readers.” Uh huh

I’m taking my cue from Allah’s headline blockbuster, wherein it is proved that we all distrust polls we don’t agree with, and then combining that with the fact that I hate/disagree with both Time and that little fairy Mulitsas – and so I won’t click it.
Eff this post.

I’m just surprised they didn’t have the greatest political blog ever, the LOL Cats.

If that were true, shutting us up would never cross any lefty’s mind.

So what your saying is that if I want to be loved and respected I should become a libral?
Somehow I’m not sure it’s worth it…

The Pioneer Woman blog is funny and very well written. I read HA, MM and Pioneer Woman daily. The first 2 are for information and the last one is for fun. It isn’t a bad thing to have some levity in one’s life. Especially with the current administration! PW also posts great recipes.
