lol, Burris had me sucked in as a political innocent. When he went to the Senate and was poor mouthing his situation, I actually felt bad for him.

No sooner did Blago appoint him and then get ousted as Illinois governor, the man he appointed senator has also been discovered to be part of a scandal…

He was appointed by a guy who will be in Federal prison shortly, and denied entry by your white liberal nitwit heroes Reid and Durbin until their lawyers could no longer stall his entry.

I have emailed my new senator from IL twice now, I was bored. Have not heard back from him yet. But then again I don’t live in Chicago so my vote does not count so I don’t expect to.

Basically, I now have “Chicago is corrupt beyond belief and a big piece of that corruption occupies the WH” as my default setting, and thus dont even look at stories like this anymore.

The next time a political story out of Chitown interests me it will have to say “Republican shocks world, wins Illinois Senate seat…women, minorities, & bipedal Chupacabras hardest hit”

With these ba$tards, unless you live in Hyde Park, the Gold Coast, Wrigleyville/Boys Town or Cabrini Green (or like environs) you don’t matter. If you live downstate, you are screwed.

To explain it a little more. If the Chicago seat had remained empty, the Democrats would have needed to find 4 Republican votes, not just three.

That would presume that the Dems were sharp enough to understand that they were not going to have more than those three RINO votes in the Senate. I think that’s giving them far more credit than they deserve.

If Fitz has Burris on tape, and can get an indictment, Burris will probably get expelled from the Senate, but his vote on the Porkulus will probably still count.

Interesting that the man bringing this up is State Rep. Jim Durkin. He was the Republican opponent of U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin in the 2004 election. Understandably, Illinois voters could have been confused between DurBin and DurKin, and voted for Tweedle Dee over Tweedle Dum.

But if Burris goes down in flames with Blago, and Pat Quinn appoints yet ANOTHER successor to the Great One Himself, Jim DurKin might be able to win the seat in 2010…
