I can’t watch it. I read elsewhere that NY State is getting $20+ Billion from the porkulus package. Let’s roll….and boycott Maine!

I don’t know the details of this, but I do know that our state’s huge budget deficit could be completely gone if we didn’t offer free/low cost state health insurance (CHIP, and all it’s variants) to those earning 400% of the amount required by the fed. gov’t. NY has a waiver (easy to get) to greatly increase the eligibility. This is stealth nationalized health care. I feel like a chump buying my own health insurance here in NY, and paying full-freight ($13,500/yr.), but perhaps you feel like a bigger chump because your tax dollars are now going to bail us out. As a NY’er, from the bottom of my heart I apologize to you. But my tax dollars will go to bail out CA, so we’re all screwed.

Isn’t it about time we stopped calling him “Grahamnesty”?

JetBoy on February 15, 2009 at 10:22 PM
No.

It will be time on the day he stands up and admits he made a terrible and foolish mistake when he supported a bill that would have rewarded tens of millions of foreigners for showing contempt for our laws, and when he issues a sincere and abject apology for slandering as “racists” and “bigots” and “nativists” all Americans who disagreed with him about the merits of the bill.

Graham is a fool for supporting amnesty. Rewarding lying, cheating, and stealing is stupid and will absolutely encourage more illegal immigration.

Welfare, giving freeloaders free money for being useless and ignorant is also foolish. Particulary when you have the acheivers and producers bankroll it.

They will need to eliminate the second ammendment if they are to push this crap down decent people’s throats.

Just the dooky eating grin on Shumer’s face shining out on the frozen frame of the video is enough to make one sick.

Yes, we are indeed screwed. I, for one, don’t want bipartisanship..I want the Republicans to stand up for what we believe in or we need to get them out of office and elect those that are not willing to bend to pressure.

In the meantime, there are a few more years in our country of stupidity, waste and blatent Democratic ignorance that we have to endure and hope to survive with some possibility of recovering from the damage that is being done now.

Agree completely with the “we’re screwed”. The ‘tools’ have stopped listening to us. Give us stronger conservatives to vote for. We still have the power of the ballot box. Go Sarah!

Kissmygrits on February 16, 2009 at 10:51 AM

I quit the Republican Party because of Graham . The name Grahamnesty fits him well. What bothered me more was his suggestion that those who did not support his position were bigots.
He is now trying to recover his reputation, but a little to late I may add.
Unfortunately, until he apologizes, it is all meaningless to me.
It was amazing watching this man stand by McCain during the election, like a litte groupe. ! I wonder what position McCain had in mind for him if he won? As McCain dodged the immigration issue during the campaign, it made me ill to see Mr Amnest Grahamnesty standing behind him.

If this is such a good bill, why is Pres O still trying to sell it? I’ts spending on about 600B that has nothing to do with the economy. Graham is right…were screwed!

I’m from South Carolina and cast my vote for the real democrat in the election. Unfortunately, South Carolinians have a bad habit of keeping senators until they are so old the mold on them becomes too much to bear (witness Thurmond and Hollings). Graham has visions of grandeur by being a ring leader in the “Gang of (insert number here)” when it comes to bending conservative principles in the name of ‘getting things done’ and self hype to an adoring liberal media.

I’d give good money to shut up Chucky Shumer and Maxine Waters. Way to go Senator Graham!

When he apologizes for his support of the Shamnesty bill; when he apoligizes for referring to the opponents of it as bigots; when he denounces ‘La Raza’ as a racist organization, and most importantly, announces his resignation from the Senate, for being a mealy mouthed RINO snot rag, then, we will stop calling him Gramnesty. Instead, we’ll call him ‘Campbell Soup Boy’, or ‘that wanker with the stupid accent from South Carolina.’
