Does anyone really think that Dems will vote the bill down?

All they talk about is the $500 tax “cut” and how that will magically solve everyone’s problems. If all you heard was that you’re getting a $500 tax cut ad nauseum, you’d probably be in favor of it too.

Yes, they’d get a different result if the media just told the truth.

Thank you. If we had an unbiased media or a watchdog media, both as it should be, and the American people were thus more educated about this bill and the ripple effects it will have, we’d have different poll numbers.

George Bush didn’t care about popularity polls. It hurt short term, but I think he’ll be vindicated long term. He cared about protecting Americans first and foremost – it was when he tried to play bipartisanship (thus giving liberalism leeway – a big mistake) that he hurt us most.

May God protect us from ourselves.

$13 a week more in people’s paychecks this year

1. It said that 80% of people want congress to “do something like President Obama’s plan” blah blah

2. Call Michale Steele, who was just yesterday trying to say this bill isn’t Obama’s but Pelosi’s. Obama’s people and his unions supporters don’t seem to agree.

3. Way, way too many people in this country are sheep. If they hear that “80% support President Obama’s plan,” they figure it’s the truth and that the plan must be good.

At least. Worse case scenario would make it worth even less. If they spend it in a city with a 7% sales tax it already becomes $7.154. Then we have to subtract the coming gasoline tax increases which should easily eat into that paltry sum.

This is still well below the amount needed for them to rent a plasma TV from the local Rent-A-Center.

Yeah, but according to Obama, that’s all Bush’s fault..it’s still sitting on his desk wrapped in a nice package.

At the insistence of congressional Democrats to allow for more spending, it scales back the middle-class tax cut proposal Obama campaigned on and included in his initial stimulus proposal.

Wow, who could have seen that coming? I’m sure Dear Leader had no idea congressional dems were going to remove it and he’s just heartbroken over it.

I blame it all on those folk who think this will give them a free kitchen.

A lot of them are going to be right about that “free” kitchen once this idiotic “stimulus” bill is passed. The $50 billion or $70 billion or whatever the current number is that’s going to be used to pay for “mortgage modification” means that people who irresponsibly signed up for mortgages they couldn’t afford are going to have their interest rates reduced and their loan principal reduced to an amount they can afford — at taxpayer expense.

We laughed at Peggy the Moocher because she thought Obama was going to pay her mortgage. She wasn’t completely wrong; Obama won’t pay it, but he’ll force the rest of us to pay it for her. Welcome to Obama’s New World Order, where your wealth (and your kids’ and grandkids’ wealth) is redistributed to achieve “social justice.”
