Did you know that the story of Christ is a plagiarization of the life of Buddha and Krishna who predate him by many hundreds of years? His story was also spread to Egypt and Persia. This ancient mythologies have been circulating around cultures in different forms for a long time.

You’ve been duped by snake-oil salesmen who wanted your money and submission to their will-you’ll never be a free person until you give up these silly ancient beliefs.

There is no life-after-death, god or any of those figments of the imagination found in the mythological text called the bible. You have only one life, stop living in fear and accepting irrational ideas just so you can avoid burning in an imaginary hell. God is as real as Santa Claus or the tooth fairy.

Also which ‘book’ is the correct one to get you to this paradise?(Which incidentally is another silly human wish/fantasy.) Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Mormons, etc all believe their religion is the correct one. How does one know who is right? Well if there was a god he would’ve already settled this question-this is why we have religious warfare. You’re brainwashed by a silly ideology, time to wise up and grow out of it.

Your “Great (fairytale) Book” also says that you and all of humanity are incestuous descendants of clones made out of sand. Eve was Adam’s genetic twin sister (by rib) and their “children” were all related. Never mind they only had two sons and one killed the other.

I could probably go all day pointing out all the laughable absurdities our primitive ancestors wrote in your ‘great book’, like talking snakes, burning bushes, a megalomanical mass-murderer your god was and all the other fairy tales in the bible.

But the point being, to use the bible as justification for your morals and beliefs would be no better than to use Harry Potter for the same reason either way its asinine and its time Christians (and all religionists) join the 21st century and discard these backward iron age mythologies.

Let’s turn the tables for a moment. What if there were pro-abortion religious fanatics that demanded all women should be forced to abort their babies because their god wants the earth to have a tiny population and the world was overpopulated as it is.

This movement had a broad following and they were working hard to change the laws. As crazy as that sounds, they were succeeding and doctors were now forced to abort your children.

How would you like it if you right to have babies was trampled on and you were forced into doing something against your will by some religious nutjobs with their own agenda?

This is exactly what you pro-lifers are doing in reverse.

Well, if you really oppose working conditions in foreign nations, you’ll spend your own money to pay those people more money. If you really oppose raping women, you’ll supply your own body for the sexual gratification of men who would otherwise take it out on women. If you really, truly oppose robbery, you’ll give everything you have to those in need, right? /sarcasm

Your analogies do not hold water. You are unable to change the laws for workers in foreign countries, but you are trying to change the laws for abortion.

If you support the raping of women (like forcing them to carry unwanted babies), then yes one could expect you to volunteer your body for the cause. In which case you’ve bolstered my argument.

If you support robbery and the thieves suck at it, then you could give them money, but that’s irrelevant.

In the case of abortion you want women to be forced to have children they do not want and 77% of the country agrees with my position that abortions should be legal.

So if you are so strongly in favor of preventing abortions, why not become the surrogate mother for those unwanted babies? There is nothing unreasonable in my suggestion and medical science can allow that.

However it shows great weakness and hypocrisy in your position if (just like the mother) you don’t want that baby either, yet you want to force her to carry it. Does that make sense to try to force someone else to do something that you wouldn’t do yourself?

I’m not a liberal, I’m a centrist, I think there are some great and bad ideas on both sides of the political spectrum.

As the 12-year old wiz kid coerced/coached to repeat the pro-life talking points in this video reminds us, 99% of the cases are because the mother didn’t do something to prevent the conception. Then, after she fails to prevent the conception, the obligation to take care of the resulting child becomes a stranger’s obligation.

So when you fail to repair your brakes/furnace/faucet, it becomes a stranger’s obligation? No its the mother’s responsibility and decision alone to fix it any way she pleases. Either by having the child or aborting it-that’s not for you to decide.

Basically, to a person of your moral stripe, if a child is an inconvenience, it can be discarded. That was the point this 12-year old, infinitely wiser than you, was making with her Horton-Hatches-A-Who commentary. She is forcing you to look in the mirror and consider from whence you came.

An embryo is not a child and yes it can be discarded for being an inconvenience. I’m sorry if the idea of being forced to raise a baby you don’t want for 20 years and aborting it, troubles you that you cannot tolerate someone else making a decision for their own betterment. Christians are the biggest, most annoying busy-bodies sticking their noses where it doesn’t belong.

I really don’t think punishment for sin is eternal.

We don’t need to prevent the underlying reasons for wrongdoing in order to condemn it as wrong. When a person requires and demands that someone else to take care of their self-created problems, they bear the mark of the Democrat.

Consider further that your reasoning is applicable to children of any age. Why should birth suddenly obligate the mother to take care of the child? What has changed in the dependency arena — the child must still be sheltered and fed. In fact, it’s worse because the child is now pooping.

Since your reasoning is, therefore, applicable to children of any age (every child a wanted child, right?), then you must also be a fellow traveler to those rural villagers in China and India who practice post-natal abortion by exposing their unwanted female newborns.

In ancient Roman days the father had the right of life or death over his minor children. Since the father was the person providing the environment for the children, this too seems natural to your way of thinking.

Abortion opponents are far more likely to adopt than pro-choicers.
We are far more likely to financially support others who adopt.
Those who don’t adopt have a right to oppose murder.
