I'm not sure that people can be divided into two groups -- liberal and conservative. I certainly don't hold to all the views of my conservative brethren, just as I'm sure they don't hold to mine -- we argue here often enough.

So, in fairness to me, I deserve airtime. And, in fairness to you who disagree with me, you deserve airtime too. Let a million minutes of airtime bloom...

So, whenever we disagree with Bill Press, we get airtime, and Ditto for Mr. Rush.

“the “chattering Classes” like Chucky Schumer likes to call THE PEOPLE”

The “Chattering Class”?
Considering the 1st amendment is “Freedom of Speech”, EXACTLY who is this “Chattering Class” that Schumer has such disdain for?

“I think a lot of people ripped out Bill Press’ whiny column from the Post the other day”

In Bill O Pressed column he mention the San Diego “Air America” KLSD (seriously that was their call letters K-LSD).

KLSD went off the air because no one was listening to them. They also failed in their “helping” the community mission.

Back in Oct 07, we had some major fires out here, basically we had to evacuate from the Mexican border, north 50 miles and out to the Pacific.

Every LOCAL station, radio AM FM and TV were keeping people updated on who needs to evacuate, when and what routs were open, every station except one, KLSD.

KLSD was having and continued to have a “Beg A Thong” throughout the 3 plus days of the fire.

“Who decides what constitutes a liberal point of view and what constitutes a conservative point of view?

I think its pretty clear who will be deciding that, comrade”

Who?

“WE Won!” clear.

In a Republic, minorities have rights.
In a Democracy, not so much.
If these people describe the USA as a Republic (Correct) or a Democracy (Incorrect),
Will tell you where they stand on freedom of speech.

I have a serious question that may come up:

Why if pRogressive radio is doing so poorly they still own the T.V. bandwidth?

If their crap is so bad how did they just get a guy elected by ommision of questions?

Why is Helen Thomas aloud a question let alone a seat in the press room?

Fairness Doctrine: for every liberal question President Obama takes(from the media) he must take one non-liberal question.

If people wanted to listen to talk radio that is pro abortion, anti 2nd amendment, anti free speech, anti military, anti family, pro redistribution, and anti America... liberal talk would be all over the dial. Obviously, no one can stomach listening that crap.

The Fairness Doctrine essentially forces radio stations to sell air time that doesn’t perform, providing a subsidy to people who can’t compete, and limits the air time available for successful hosts.

Hmmm, sounds kinda familiar. Let's see...oh yeah, the Community Reinvetment Act.

Well, that worked out pretty good, didn't it?

And by the way, Bill Press. We already have clowns like you on the radio shooting down virtually everything people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have to say about anything. So what the heck do we need The Fairness Doctrine brought back for?

Bill Press is such a maroon that he doesn't understand that the Fairness Doctrine would ruin his own industry and take him off the air. The entire point of the Fairness Doctrine is to make talk radio so expensive that the station owners go back to the top 40 format. That’s why there was no talk radio the last time there was a Fairness Doctrine. Think of it from the radio station owner’s point of view: Once you have to keep the Fairness Doctrine in mind, you have to hire a couple dozen lawyers and work them around the clock defending whatever you decided to put on the air. And the fights never end. Even if you win one, 10 more pop up. Who need all that trouble to air at least 12 hours of shows that no one will listen too anyway?
