I've hesitated to say it for a long time for its distasteful similarity to what some Germans said about Jews during the 1930s, but one must follow where the evidence leads:

There are too many democrats who will be democrats before they are "Americans."

I am sure among the answers you would get to the question "Who is Thomas Paine?" would be "You mean T-Pain? He's one of my favorite hip-hop singers!"

“These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it Now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict the more glorius the triumph.”
Thomas Paine, The Crisis — December 1776

Can’t say it any better.

I suggest that everyone go find a copy of The Crisis and read it in its entirety. Change a few dates, change a few details and it sounds as though it was written last week.

I'd be willing to drive a spike into my head for every Obamabot at that rally in Florida who could correctly identify Thomas Paine.

These are the times that try men's souls, indeed.

After the revolution, one thing that is mandatory in the new constitution. We must have a clause that stipulates that only those who pay taxes will be allowed to vote. Anyone receiving any form of govt assistance will be automatically disqualified from voting, regardless of how much in taxes they pay.

Oddly, your words "after the revolution" gave me a feeling of hope. I like that. Our forefathers would have liked it too.

Cool! The l/s tees are only $23, so I bought a dozen to donate to my local homeless shelter.

Its great when a charitable donation can also help stimulate the economy.

Thanks for the post Ed, I might not have seen this otherwise.

Yeah, that's the Democratic Party spirit! Waste nearly $300 bucks on t-shirts for people who might be better off with, say, food, or a job. There's a spot in HHS for you.

Cool, then you and your friends will be easy to spot. Better to be an open target and make it easier for me then! I wouldn't clean my dog's a** with that shirt.

You can use their website to send a message to your representatives. I noticed that when I clicked send, it opened a new gov browser and my message simply populated the comment data field and then you have to fill in your personal info so the system knows which representatives to send the message to....the pure mechanics of the system leads me to believe that these clowns get a copy of my email from the first data field I filled out, but not my personal info. If so, they will be reading my strong opposition to the stimulus bill....

too funny.

Someone else take a look at this and see if you come to the same conclusion. If so, it would be funny to both send our reresentatives our views on the stimulus bill and flood this website's comments inbox with comments that they find disagreeable.
