Newbie O has no class. Both Bush and Reagan were HOUNDED by the press. They NEVER EVER lashed out at ANY reporter or news personality. BO is an embarrassment to America. Now I guess it’s the USSA of Amerika.

Mojave Mark on February 6, 2009 at 12:45 AM

They should have saved thier money on the polling. For the 1000th and last time; Rush is a conservative, not all republicans are conservative (even though they think they are).

peacenprosperity on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM

I’ve said it before, and it bears repeating:

Rush Hudson Limbaugh, III is not the standard bearer of the Republican Party. The Republicans have abandoned him, me, and millions of like-minded Americans. He is the leader of the conservative movement, which for years has had very little attachment to either party!

Any questions?

gryphon202 on February 6, 2009 at 12:52 AM

The difference between Rush and liberal commentators is this, Rush is honest about who he is and where his bias is. That’s fine with me. Liberals tend to cloak themselves in some kind of wierd mantle of righteousness as if they don’t have any political bias. Honestly, I think they really are not intelligent enough to realize that they do have a political bias, they just think that because THEY think it, it must not only be the only right opinion, but that most people agree with them. There is a word that describes this thinking perfectly…ARROGANCE! When I see a group of libtards bashing everyone as a knuckle dragging loon who doesn’t agree with them, I realize that arrogance between people will feed on itself and stoke arrogance in other people because when you have several arrogant people together, they have their feelings confirmed that their arrogance is correct. It’s truly sickening. The most dangerous thing is when the arrogant take action and impose their will on the ignorant unwashed. Mark my words, we will see the civil war between arrogance and freedom in the next few years.

Unfavorables are down from 2003 for both Dems and Indies. Good enough for me.

You know, I read the left wing blogs once in a while just to see what’s on their little minds, and I have noticed something consistant that is extremely suspicious, they don’t quite look real. There are four major differences between liberal blogs and conservative blogs, the number of posts, the length of the posts, and the amount of people responding to eachother and the fact that there are almost NO voices in opposition to the popular opinion. For instance, if you look at the postings on any conservative blog, you will see an actual discussion, debate, argument. Even people of the same party will have differing opinions on many topics. People will type up a few sentences, even a few paragraphs and actually come up with some salient points. You don’t see so much just “me tooing” as you do people who actually come up with their own original thoughts on a subject. And there is more talk back and forth between posters on conservative blogs than on liberal blogs.

Liberal blogs tend to have a whole lot of one line comments that pretty much echo the common theme and you almost NEVER see any words of dissention. I’m not really sure what this is about, but it is a consistant thing that has been puzzling me for a long time because I knew there seemed to be some characteristic differences between liberal and conservative blogs.

I’m not sure what it means but here are a couple of possibilities. One,this is truly the way that liberal think. Two, many of these liberal blogs are being fed by Soros type comment mills where people are being paid some small amount to maintain a couple hundred different identities on the web and comment on liberal blogs to give the impression of a consensus among the people. Given the actions of groups like ACORN, it really wouldn’t surprise me.

Bikerken on February 6, 2009 at 1:21 AM

Easy money. Ask prominent liberals what they think of his comments this past week. As Rush has been on vacation, you easily weed out the tools who don’t actually listen.

Bikerken on February 6, 2009 at 1:21 AM

I’ve seen differing opinions on some of the articles at TNR that AP has linked. But that’s because TNR, despite falling for Scott Thomas Beauchamp, is about as far right as left-wing blogs get. They were actually for the war in Iraq originally.

jimmy the notable on February 6, 2009 at 1:47 AM

AP can post what he’d like. It’s his domain. And for Pete’s sake, we can’t just inculcate ourselves with only things that please us like the Kossacks do. A little challenge of the mind does the mind good.

blatantblue on February 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM

The only time I’ve ever seen the DailyKos confront reality was during the Jon Edwards scandal. It was deliciouuuuuuuuus.

In all honesty though I don’t see what the point of this poll is – being on one side of the aisle is going to be polarizing by its very definition. Why should this surprise anybody?

Tacitus_SGL on February 6, 2009 at 1:53 AM

Let’s see some numbers on Olbermann, please.

jimmy the notable on February 6, 2009 at 1:54 AM

Who paid for this poll……….

……….. and why?

Obama and the Democrats have a full majority in Congress, and a President to sign his/their legislation…..

…………. why run the poll?

Why waste the money, unless it’s not coming out of their pockets…….

……. in a pep-rally last night, I saw Mr. Obama reading a teleprompter full of confidence…

Then, again,…….

…………. why the delay?

Put your name on it, Mrs. Pelosi, Mr. Reid, and Mr. Obama…..

…….. go ahead,

Put your name on it……….

Mr. Joe on February 6, 2009 at 2:08 AM

Here is my email to my Senator, Ms. Stabenow (no I did NOT vote for her)

Ms. Stabenow, I can NOT believe that you have the audacity to think that we need a “fairness” doctrine. In this age of multiple streams of media choices, people can tune in to various places to hear the news.

The liberals have the daily newspapers, and the network news. Where is the balance there? Do you REALLY want a government entity being the police of the “news”? I suggest that you get up to speed and realize Americans don’t need a nanny state.

We are grown ups. We can choose where we listen to our sources to get the news. There is no need for a “fairness” doctrine. Unless of course, you are ready to insist that the networks hire conservatives, that NPR has half of their air time devoted to conservatives, and that the college radio stations devote equal time to conservatives.

You are not at all a disinterested party here. Your husband has a financial interest in having the gorvernment ram programming down our throat. You should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting we need a “fairness” doctrine.

You are just a partisan hack with a financial interest in this outcome. Cesspool of corruption all right. You have been in Washington too long.

karenhasfreedom on February 6, 2009 at 2:14 AM

I do not believe these numbers and I find the source/motivation of the survey to be suspect. I’m sure there are many Alinsykites in Princeton willing to help the President isolate and attempt to make Rush irrelevant.Nice try. The percentages of no nothings and no comments are curiously high to me.

It’s a solid observation, I have noticed the same thing for awhile. Really though, I just think they are mainly lazy clueless self loathing irresponsible petty selfish people who like being spoon fed info and then love to repeat it like parrots to each other or anyone that will remotely listen. Just my two cents.

Limbaugh is a brilliant man who has a great sense of humor. I have no doubt had he been born back in the day of John Adams and company….his face would have shown up on our currency at one time or another. Glad he was born in our time, we need more people like him.

javamartini on February 6, 2009 at 2:43 AM

Guess now that the election is over, they have to poll about something.

misslizzi on February 6, 2009 at 2:50 AM

So it is no surprise that Limbaugh has taken on President Obama in a provocative manner.

The only way that Limbaugh “took on” Obama was by doing what he always does…comment on current events.

Obama turned this into a national story by calling out Limbaugh by name.

So, who took on who?

Hawkins1701 on February 6, 2009 at 3:11 AM

In the interest of full disclosure, in his speech to Hillsdale College at Washington, DC, Rush Limbaugh also took on John McCain in a provocative manner criticizing him in 3 different ways:

1)being the candidate of the moderate wing of the GOP McCain was supposed to bring in Democrats, Independents, moderates and Hispanics to the GOP tent which he failed at

2)McCain had no core principles or beliefs or if he did ‘he wasn’t able to put them across’

3)Rush sent McCain an e-mail pleading with him in his convention speech on Thursday night (after the stirring partisan output of Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin) to abandon bi-partisanship for one night and speak to conservative principles and beating the Democrats. Of course, McCain did not take Rush’s advice and lost the election.

Both Democrats, the loony Left, moderate Republicans and those who advocate abandoning Reagan conservatism have reasons to hate Rush. Rush espouses what he espouses, regardless of who likes him or dislikes him.

Name me one political pundit on the Left on CNN or MSNBC who is hated by both conservatives and liberals.

technopeasant on February 6, 2009 at 4:19 AM

Where’s the poll for this pork barrel spending bill?

What does it say about these “independents” that 30% of them have never heard of Rush Limbaugh…

…it says that they are probably independents because they are probably too clueless about politics to pick a party.

JeffersonFan on February 6, 2009 at 5:16 AM

Aren’t independents democrats in denial?

KickandSwimMom on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM

I registered independent because I felt like Republicans left ME. There was no sanity in the Bush 2nd term, in particular.

Rush is an entertainer. He does silly, sometimes astute, parody. This is NOT UNLIKE idiots like Maher or Rosie or the unbalanced View ladies table. But, in all that, when the liberals get going, Rush is ON IT. He speaks the truth in a way that utterly shames liberals. He does it well and with bravery.

Whether or not we listen to him, we as conservative AMERICANS need to be darn sure that he has EVERY RIGHT to say what he wants to say and fight to the end for him. He has towed the line for so long…and if he gets taken out, so will we.

I also agree with this:

Both Bush and Reagan were HOUNDED by the press. They NEVER EVER lashed out at ANY reporter or news personality. BO is an embarrassment to America. Now I guess it’s the USSA of Amerika.

Mojave Mark on February 6, 2009 at 12:45 AM

But, I think it is part of the Alinsky strategy he is so fond of. Unfortunately for him, the rest of us aren’t and it makes him look like a tool box. We might be a tv addicted nation, but, not all our brains are mush, praise God. We still can see a whiny baby through all this mess, and it isn’t Rush.

Mommypundit on February 6, 2009 at 6:23 AM

To all of you idiots that have, since November, called me a radical right wing nut job and harsher comments because I have been YELLING from the ramparts about the comming Messiah’s radical agenda for Rush, Hannity, Levin and all of the Conservative talk radio hosts…

SEE I TOLD YA SO! *(sticks tongue out)*

The far left “Progressives” are feeling invencable, they think we will just roll over and let them silence the one last Conservative voice in America, talk radio.

With some people like we have here at HotAir I wonder if they are not correct… Most here are WEAK and not really Conservative… Most like to ride the fence and sit by while the radicals take control of our Country. Most talk about a “big tent” and “compromise” and “moderation” to win elections, some talk about wishing this Messiah well and have hopes that he is a “centerist”.

Do you MORONS still feel the same today? Are you folks too STUPID to understand the REAL AND PRESENT DANGER this Administration poses? Are you going to continue to call for civility while The Constitution is destroyed? Are you finaly going to get OFF YOUR CULT FOLLOWER BUTTS and call your Congressman and Senators and DEMAND a end to this invasion of radical Liberalisam un-American bill? Are you going to tell them to STOP MESSING with Conservative talk radio? Are you going to tell them, demand from them, a return to basic Conservative values and policies?

For some of you the answers are YES, YES and YES! For some, even Allah and Ed I fear, the answer is NO…

Rush is and has been right, Hannity too, Levin, Bortz and others… Obama IS a very real radical danger and he must be confronted NOW, before we no longer have any voice left!

I was right to warn and yell and scream about these issues, I was right to say it’s time to act, time to call, e-mail and speak out… Call me all the names you want, but GET ON THE PHONES, tell your friends, fight this bill, fight the un-Fairness Doctrine and get active. THE BIG TENT IS CLOSED, it’s time for honest, real, Reagan Conservatisam to trump any and all calls for unity and compromise!!!!!!

Anyhoo, I betcha the vast majority of these independents never listen to Rush and only know what they know from the MSM and their out of context soundbites; it’s perception based on ignorance.

Put this group together in a room for a week, pipe in Rush, and then retake the poll. I guarantee ya the numbers would change.

Outstanding point. What is the POTUS and the Democratic Party as a whole doing singling out one American for public scorn? Yea Rush is a celebrity, and in the end will turn it around and stick it up their collective gazoo. However the fact remains that Obama has demeaned the office of POTUS by participating in public personal attacks against a lone U.S. citizen.

The attempted intimidation of a private citizen, Rush Limbaugh. This radical Pork-u-lous Bill with every far left program and wish that has been stored away for years by the hate America crowd. I could go on…

In just over two weeks we have the proof that this man, this Administration is going to be FAR WORSE that even I predicted. They are systematicaly destroying America. This will be and is the MOST inept, radical President we have ever had in America.

And your asking me to play nice? SCREW THAT! Playing nice, not getting in folks faces is what led us to the current situation. Centerists, moderates, big tenters got us here. Conservatives can get us back… Back to the America of values, freedoms, liberty, morals, reduced Government, tax cuts, American Pride, honor, strong military and defense.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out what this is supposed to suggest, what the significance of Gallup’s poll is supposed to be. What difference does it make, and who cares how many favorable and unfavorable ratings he has? More telling would be any increase or decrease in listening audience, ad revenues, etc.

Next poll: How many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

petefrt on February 6, 2009 at 7:59 AM

That’s silly, he doesn’t compel anyone to listen nor can he make those who do listen agree with him. If it was mandatory you might have an argument.

Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 11:14 PM

Tru dat. No one “has” to listen to Rush.

But too many not only listen to him, they want him to guide policy. Heck, elect the guy to Congress if you want that.

JetBoy on February 5, 2009 at 11:21 PM

They’re not called representatives for nothing. No one made them the ruling class. We rule ourselves. Rush reminds us of that every day.

Rush is a private citizen talking to other private citizens about the people we elect to run OUR government, and whether they suck or not. He’s not “just a radio talk show host.” Short of stopping profane language, or attempts to overthrow the Constitution, the Gov’t need to stay the fuck out of this well-known private citizen’s business.

Rush is defended because Rush is the everyman enlarged and made eloquent. That you don’t get that, that you think he’s merely an entertainer, is disturbing. When they attempt to silence or intimidate Rush, they silence and intimidate me! That’s why he’s supported the way he is.

As per FREE SPEECH and freedom of the press, go Rush and the BMI Network!

Wall Street Journal–Feb.5,2009
“Moscow Moves To Counter US Power From Central Asia”
By Alan Cullison and Yochi J. Dreazen, Moscow

Rush keeps good company, and I look forward to hearing Laura Ingraham’s take on the WSJ “Moscow” article given her experience there.

I see the Re-Invention of Russia as the Global Empire. Obama is sacrificing the USA and Western Liberty to Moscow.

Obama’s Afghanistan War is already a failure, even before Obama attempts to be rid of our military’s arsenal without using the nuclear missiles. Obama is resigning himself as Putin’s pig, a willing cannibal with or without cannabis.

And I’m not silencing you; if I wanted to do that, I’d ban you. I’m merely pointing you to the free-market solution, which is to find a site that supplies the sort of blogging that meets your demand. So when you and Ed use “attacks” against Rush or diminish his importance to “the cause” it will continue to draw fire from those of us here that “get it”, that understand the dangers posed by Obama and the far left. You rarely get on board with condemming The Messiah, instead you would rather water-down and big tent the Republican party. I think that is the exact wrong approach.

Interestly, your style of Republicanisam seems to be the reason we keep losing elections. The watered-down, wishy-washy, weak-knee’d, and to quote Rush “The Wussification” of our leadership. The refusal to “call out” RINO’s by name. I don’t cotten to that, I call it like I see it, and seems I hit a bit of a nerve… Calling out faux-Conservatives is not being mean or advisarial, it’s how to win elections and change America for the better, imho.

Maybe if you made the attempt from time to time to thread about Conservatives, hard core Conservatives with a tad bit lees disdaine, your friends here at HA would be less likly to attack. But 99.999% of your threads don’t do that…

While I consider myself a Rush fan, I’ve had it up to here with the crapshoot that is his show. Any given day there is like a 50/50 chance that Rush will be in the studio. He has FU $ so he can do what he wants and he has some great opportunities that you & I can only dream about and he takes ‘em.
Listening to 20-30 minutes of his golf weekends or jetting about on his G5 followed by lectures on work ethics is just too much.
And the fact that all too frequently he plugs some generic white bread talk show host into the big chair is just all the more insulting.
Get back to work, Rush.

I think that those of us who so strongly support Rush and Palin do so because of their strong conservative views. That does not mean we idolize them, we just respect them. If others who claim to be conservatives criticize them because they don’t like their personalities or don’t care for their style, than fine. But we have problem understanding why people claiming to be conservative criticize their message.

I don’t think Rush’s job is to defeat liberalism. I think his life’s work was to hold the fort, and keep a message alive that was being buried. His hard work has spurned a whole host of imitators, some of whom aren’t half bad. If Rush went off the air tomorrow, because of his hard work, the drumbeat will live on. Rush isn’t indispensable any longer. That is his enduring success. I hope when the time is right, he finds a satisfying retirement.

Why is Barry running around in a panic anyway? He owns the House and the Senate! If he wants a vote all he has to do is call up Senator Harry Reid and demand one! They own the Senate! Barry is becoming pathetic…just like Rush predicted he would by the way!

There won’t be a shortage of people loudly celebrating that and his funeral.

What about his arrogance when getting those pill-popping Oxy charges reduced? Normally he would have been given the full 10 felony charges. Those charges would have stuck. He would have been sent to prison. Our nation would have been for the better.

20 millon mindless folk would have to listen to something else that wasn’t under attack.

For once, I agree with Allahpundit – at least he knows people with certain ideologies that are past their time.
