So this has changed since the Clinton years how? Most people don’t like Rush, but he’s one of the best political analysts out there.
Also, get a new pic.
fiatboomer on February 5, 2009 at 10:38 PM
They should have saved thier money on the polling. For the 1000th and last time; Rush is a conservative, not all republicans are conservative (even though they think they are).
peacenprosperity on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM
No one votes for Rush Limbaugh. The only approval rating that matters is the number of listeners (and sponsors to go with them), and that’s always been pretty high. Not bad for a guy painted to be either Satan or a drooling idiot.
ddrintn on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM
Aren’t independents democrats in denial?
KickandSwimMom on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM
I guess this is interesting should Rush ever run for national office. I wonder if his ratings have gone up and what new listeners think? An experiment of freedom.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 10:40 PM
Yeah, and I am sure Rush is crying all the way to the bank, too.
-Dave
Dave R. on February 5, 2009 at 10:41 PM
And 31% of Dems have either not heard of Rush or have no opinion of him? Hello? Can one of our resident trolls do some research on this?
fiatboomer on February 5, 2009 at 10:41 PM
Whenever you find you are on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Well, this proves it, then!
(Psssst! What does this prove?)

Allah, your QOTD is the sixth paragraph of the story:
Where’s the controversy here?
Oh, I guess I have already posted three times. Touche.

That drummer’s really good, I hear.
hillbillyjim on February 5, 2009 at 10:46 PM
How about a poll of conservatives (real ones) on their opinion of Rush?
pugwriter on February 5, 2009 at 10:46 PM
I bet Harry Reid doesn’t believe this poll.
Vince on February 5, 2009 at 10:47 PM
How in the world do you come up with these things? I have this image of a man with a Bartlett Familiar Quotes in each hand. But then you couldn’t post so that can’t be right.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 10:47 PM
Those are excellent numbers considering how much he is trashed and lied about by the MSM and some so-called conservatives in the blogosphere.
roninacreage on February 5, 2009 at 10:48 PM
My GOD I’ve missed Rush this week. Monday can’t get here fast enough.
Ampersand on February 5, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Not all that surprising in a group that probably would have a hard time telling you who the VP is.
ddrintn on February 5, 2009 at 10:48 PM
But was the question even asked………….
Seven Percent Solution on February 5, 2009 at 10:49 PM
Obama: Don’t listen to Limbaugh.
Gallup: Yeah.
snickelfritz on February 5, 2009 at 10:49 PM
That AP’s desperately trolling for traffic again?
aquaviva on February 5, 2009 at 10:49 PM
It’s funny how Gallup tries to explain the poll.
“A not insignificant number of Republicans, 1 out of 4, do not view Limbaugh favorably.
Vince on February 5, 2009 at 10:49 PM
Ah yes, that all-important electoral subgroup, the “independents”…wait, aren’t they the ones McCain was supposed to bring in by the droves?
Cylor on February 5, 2009 at 10:52 PM
You love it.

There’s not much love for Wal-Mart at Target headquarters either. It’s the way life works. If someone’s kicking your butt everyday, you’re not going to like them very much.
RBMN on February 5, 2009 at 10:53 PM
Well shoot, 1 in 4 members of my family don’t view me favorably.

Wow. This topic just owns your entire argument from the other topic. Rough night for ya.

Rush is not even here this week. Who cares? He is not elected by anyone.
Besides, define INDEPENDENT?
Starlink on February 5, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Thank God for this poll! Now Rush can change his views and attitudes and be liked by 100% of the populous!
Jim-Rose on February 5, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Looks like he lost a few independents but picked up a few libs over the years.
Hope and change…
katy on February 5, 2009 at 10:56 PM
And obviously there’s no correlation between whether a person likes Rush or not and whether he/she listens to him. Given the millions who tune in daily, a pretty fair percentage must be would-be seminar callers. I think I would wet myself if The One ever called in. It’s a possibility — I mean the guy is obviously a regular listener given he feels compelled to discourage Republican lawmakers from listening to him. Nothing would send a thrill up my leg like His Excellency letting his ego get the better of him and calling up Rush to try to work his charm on him.
This is one thing I will never understand about liberals. I get wanting to know what your opposition is saying, but I prefer to have that information distilled for me through people like Rush or Sean or Fox News, or blogs like Hot Air or Michelle’s. I would never in a million years waste three hours of my day listening to Al Franken or Janene Garafolo prattling and whining and hurling invective at people on the right, all the while claiming to be card-carrying members of the party of tolerance and enlightenment. I have better things to do with my time. Liberals, by contrast, appear to enjoy listening to their views being skewered and fileted daily by the voices on the right. I don’t get it. Are they masochists? It’s the only explanation I can come up with.
NoLeftTurn on February 5, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Preach to the choir, Rush.
They’ll bow to your every word.
JetBoy on February 5, 2009 at 10:57 PM
Would you go conduct a poll of Democrats for us?
fiatboomer on February 5, 2009 at 10:58 PM
If the dems throw him off the air with the Fairness crap they will be throwing him right smak into the political scene.
Careful what you ask for libtards.
That would be sweet…
katy on February 5, 2009 at 10:59 PM
I don’t suppose you’re able to explain why that might be.
Jim Treacher on February 5, 2009 at 10:59 PM
and what are Reid and Pelosis numbers?
Is gutter a number?
roninacreage on February 5, 2009 at 11:00 PM
New idea for Allah: Stop bothering with QOTD. Just headline your last post at night with either this photo or the one of Palin winking, entitle it “No WAY!“, caption the photo with “Nuance,” then write a post that consists of this line: “ROUND ONE… FIGHT.”
fiatboomer on February 5, 2009 at 11:01 PM
For his next trick, crr6 will threaten to bite my legs off.
Jim Treacher on February 5, 2009 at 11:01 PM
And somehow he’s incredibly wealthy and pulls in a huge audience.
He’s already won the only ‘poll’ that counted.
Asher on February 5, 2009 at 11:02 PM
Got tomorrow’s QOTD picked yet, AP? I’m guessing it’ll have to do with Sara Palin….

I’ll believe that 31% of “Democrats” “haven’t heard of Rush”.
I believe that 31% of “Democrats” don’t know who the VP is or what party holds Majority in Congress.

Independents stand for nothing.
Who cares what they think.

Allah. One of those milquetoast, fair weather, pasty faced, sunshine “conservatives.” Too sophisticated for the red meat crowd. Too ironic to appreciate Sarah or Rush. Oooooooh, you’re sooooooo smart and clever. Much much smarter than us rubes in the hinterland.

Fresh on Drudge:
Senator Stabenow says Talk Radio is next on the chopping block!
We all need to bombard Mizz Stabenow’s phone lines and email box. This can’t happen without a fight.
I emailed Mizz Stabenow the following:
Ms. Stabenow,
I understand you seek to make the next imposed disgrace on American freedom the “Fairness Doctrine”. Can we put things into perspective?
Liberal democrats currently have the following outlets for mass broadcast: CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, MTV, E!, Newsweek, TIME, AP, UPI, The Daily Show, NPR, Al Jazeera, and 95% of the newspaper publications across the country.
Republicans have the following outlet for mass broadcast: Talk radio.
There seems to be an imbalance here, but it seems to be lopsided to the left, Ma’am. Not to the right. It seems pretty clear that the naziesque new Obama administration will be seeking to stifle free speech, and that you’re leading the fray.
Should the Fairness Doctrine (if that’s what you dare to call it) pass somehow, can you assure all Americans that all of the left-wing outlets will be forced to show the same balance? Or is this just a plot to kill the free speech of Conservatives?
Hitler’s regime started this way, Ma’am. You are proving yourself to be repeating history. And this won’t go down without a fight.
ErinF on February 5, 2009 at 11:12 PM
You gotta love it when polls are interpreted like that. I guess it just wouldn’t fit the narrative to say that 3 out of 4 Republicans DO view Limbaugh favorably.
I’m jealous. I thinking I’m polling around 3 out of 5 unfavorable right now.
rmel80 on February 5, 2009 at 11:12 PM
Oh relax. Jeeze
blatantblue on February 5, 2009 at 11:12 PM
That’s silly, he doesn’t compel anyone to listen nor can he make those who do listen agree with him. If it was mandatory you might have an argument.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 11:14 PM
And this is news because of what? Independents are libs in waiting, Rush calls them on that and they don’t like him for it, so what.
echosyst on February 5, 2009 at 11:14 PM
I like Rush, but I listen far less than I used to. People throw him in with Michael Savage and refuse to make an honest assessment. The Left can’t get by without a daily dose of derangement syndrome and since Dubya’s gone, Rush is it. Just for the record Lefties, Rush is no different now than he’s been for the 2 years of Barry’s campaign — how could his standard fare be so objectionable now?
Mark30339 on February 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM
PS
I bet Rush’s approval ratings hold up better than 90% of the politicians out there including Obama. He SURE AS HELL has a better approval rating than the rest of the MEDIA.
echosyst on February 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Seconded. I don’t always agree with Allahpundit, but I like to read his entries here. Give the guy a break, for crying out loud.
ddrintn on February 5, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Better than that, I predict will get a raise in his contract. And deservedly so.
:)
ErinF on February 5, 2009 at 11:17 PM
If I understood correctly, out until Tuesday. I guess The One won’t be able to discuss Rush’s impact on the stimulus package.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 11:18 PM
yep. A lot of readers here are starting to get on my nerves, always attacking Allah.
If people haaaaaaaaaaaaate this website so much now, GTFO. We’d be much obliged.
AP can post what he’d like. It’s his domain. And for Pete’s sake, we can’t just inculcate ourselves with only things that please us like the Kossacks do. A little challenge of the mind does the mind good.
blatantblue on February 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM
Well, that’s why there’s such a hurry I guess. :D
ddrintn on February 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM
What is it with some of you people? For cripes sake…Are we really in the same political party?
JetBoy on February 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM
Among Independents, Democrats outnumber Independents 99%-1%
Ronnie on February 5, 2009 at 11:19 PM
Tru dat. No one “has” to listen to Rush.
But too many not only listen to him, they want him to guide policy. Heck, elect the guy to Congress if you want that.
JetBoy on February 5, 2009 at 11:21 PM
LOL! Little hussein must have hired a whole department in his administration to be Rush watchdogs. “Ok, he’s on vacation the next seven days. We have to act fast!”
ErinF on February 5, 2009 at 11:21 PM
Meh. This poll is measuring — in part — a prejudice that has been carefully and deliberately nurtured. Look at the poll in Russia where Stalin was considered the third greatest man in Russian history.
shazbat on February 5, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Some people like that dude/ette here can’t take anything contrary to their precious notions and beliefs.
:p
blatantblue on February 5, 2009 at 11:22 PM
This witch hunt of Rush Limbaugh is to muzzle the talk radio by fairness Doctrine.
promachus on February 5, 2009 at 11:23 PM
I, too, really enjoy Allah’s postings. Sometimes they are snarky, but so what? I think we all have a little snark in us about certain things. I don’t know why so many on this site get offended at things he posts? I certainly don’t see him voicing many objections to the contrary views expressed by people who he obviously does not agree with. This should be a place where people feel comfortable expressing ideas and presenting convincing arguments for us all to consider and debate. After all, the first step in convincing our political opponents is to make a good argument for our ideas right? I can’t think of a better place where we can do that than here.
KickandSwimMom on February 5, 2009 at 11:25 PM
Yes, it’s next on the
NaziObama administration to-do list. It’s on Drudge’s headline.Email Senator Stabenow; she’s leading the front.
ErinF on February 5, 2009 at 11:26 PM
I listen to talk radio all day long. No, I don’t want to elect Rush, then he would be encumbered with a constituency. So I will take his view of the political world and mix it with that oh so unbiased rendition that we get from the MSM and I get a little better view of what is going on.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 11:27 PM
According to that poll, Limbaugh’s popularity is on the rise. Hurras!!!
DannoJyd on February 5, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Such as the suggestion last week that the newly amnesty-supporting Sen. Gillibrand is more conservative than McCain. I’m no McCain defender, but gimme a break.
fiatboomer on February 5, 2009 at 11:29 PM
So I see that Rush’s unfavorables have declined for Republicans and Democrats AND Independents since 2003.
Allah, can you read a freaking chart?

Rush much be one helluva boogeyman for all the Dems to fear him so much.
Limerick on February 5, 2009 at 11:32 PM
i think i have listened to him for ~20 years. He is be best political analyst and hits the nail on the head.
he raises, and brings back to life, those pesky little facts the libs want to forget.
AZ_Redneck on February 5, 2009 at 11:32 PM
Good night folks, sweet dreams.
Cindy Munford on February 5, 2009 at 11:34 PM
Yea I’m outie too. Night night cya tomorrow
blatantblue on February 5, 2009 at 11:35 PM
And yet … you still comment.
Odd, that.
nukemhill on February 5, 2009 at 11:35 PM
That’s not true. He doesn’t need to guide policy. However, Rush perfectly personifies the 1st Amendment, and the downfall of America if it’s ever taken away.
If you don’t like what Rush has to say, don’t listen to him. Just like I don’t have to listen to NPR.
Libs don’t get it: Liberal talk radio failed because it’s a downer. Who the hell wants to sit and listen to a 3-hour show about how much “America sucks, Bush is a stupid lying warmonger, and our military is a terrorist organization?” Nobody! That’s why they couldn’t pay their on-air “talent”, and couldn’t sell advertising, and couldn’t get an audience.
Libs just want to force that same anti-patriotic taint on Conservative radio to make that fail, as well.
Liberalism seeks to make everyone equally miserable, after all.

Actually, John McCain changed me from a Republican to an Independent (with a little help from Martinez and Graham).
Was that his goal? To create more independents?
Mission accomplished there bonehead.
JeffinOrlando on February 5, 2009 at 11:56 PM
Looked, but didn’t see…did they ask how many respondants listened to Limbaugh and to how much. I’d like to see those numbers.
jjverdi on February 5, 2009 at 11:58 PM
Silly Dems and Media (redundantly redundant statement?).
Never listen to the market, guys, because if you did, that would make sense. No, not at all. Just search your feelings, Luke…
Rush doesn’t give two sh*ts whether he is liked or not, and he is paid very, very well for just being himself. Well done.
Wanderlust on February 5, 2009 at 11:59 PM
Now, imagine that this was a poll on the stimulus package, or for that matter, Obama’s favorability rating. The sentence would read:
“The stimulus is favored by an overwhelming majority of Republicans 75% to 25%.”
Or,
“Obama enjoys a strong 3:1 favorability rating among this polling group”.
When it’s a conservative or conservative cause, the objective Gallup instead chooses the quoted negative approach instead.
Do people in the rest of the country not see this bias? Are they really that tone-deaf or just plain stupid?
/wait, a bunch of them voted for Obama — just answered my own question.
AZfederalist on February 6, 2009 at 12:00 AM
They’re shocked. As far as Gallup knew, all Republicans recieved their dittohead marching orders from ElRushbo, and then obediently stole foodstamps from the poor while kissing their sisters and lynching homosexual feminst minorities.
TMK on February 6, 2009 at 12:04 AM
So if 23% of Republicans not liking Rush is a “not insignificant number”, than 25% of independents liking him would also be a “not insignificant number”.
Rose on February 6, 2009 at 12:10 AM
Something like 90% of independents don’t like Pelosi. When is someone going to make her illegal?
29Victor on February 6, 2009 at 12:14 AM
Polls are pretty silly these days…..most have as much a hidden agenda as the news media.
Now, the “news” media can write stories citing the “polls”….what a joke.
Rush is right: all part of the Alinsky strategy. Rush, Hannity, and Fox News have all been officially labeled by the Magic Marxist.
Our job is to destroy these leftist freaks…..let’s roll.
ex-Democrat on February 6, 2009 at 12:17 AM
23% of republicans are RINO’s? That’s about right.
csdeven on February 6, 2009 at 12:19 AM
The whole “fairness doctrine” thing is just like every other distraction that the Dems use. They don’t care about the outcome, the whole point is to change the argument from their failing, unpopular policies to something else, anything else.
This week the news is all about executive pay cuts and Rush Limbaugh, giving the media an excuse not to dig into and talk about the “stimulus” package or Mr. Obama’s cabinet picks.
I once heard a Clinton insider say that Bill Clinton loved it when he was president and the Right would go on and on about Hillary because it meant they weren’t talking about his policies.
29Victor on February 6, 2009 at 12:21 AM
Horse Hocky!
No Opinion means they are neither Republicans nor Conservatives.
23% means they don’t listen to Rush and parrot other idiots that think Rush is some kinda loud-mouth Alex Jones. Speaking from experience.
Public opinion polls are inaccurate, bias, and stink the high heaven.
