We (or, at least, I) am not talking about polling issues. At one point during the history of the United States, slavery was considered a natural situation — and slavers and owners had all sorts of arguments as to why slavery was natural law, including the “they cannot fend for themselves” argument.

But what I am doing is trying to figure out when you personally think a fetus/embryo/whatever becomes human. Or does that matter — could it be that you would allow one human to have the power of life and death over another? If so, then there’s not a conservative bone in your body, because conservatism dictates that we try to maximize the rights of every human.

Ok, we have that you think that a breath may make a difference. Now let’s move back a few seconds. How about the moment just prior to that breath? Tommy, can a fetus which has not yet taken a breath be classified as human?

The first breath is certainly a logical line of demarcation between potential human being and human being, but not the only. It may be conception, or when it could survive outside the womb if extracted. Or it could be when the infant learns to walk, or talk, or form memories, or do integral calculus. The point is that there are no right answers written in stone. Are you serious? This furthers my point that many folks are grossly ignorant of the Constitution.

There’s a nasty little 16th Amendment that was ratified in 1913 that gives Congress the power to tax most anything, including income tax.

I will put it in language that you can understand. In Roe v. Wade, the court found a constitutional right to have an abortion.
